"Finally, something my hair is right for!" jokes Alicia Minshew (Kendall Hart, All My Children) about Eltingville, a coming-of-age series that she's producing and starring in.

All My Children alum Alicia Minshew (Kendall Hart) has one fabulous head of hair, and it's going to be put to good use in her next project. The beloved actress shares that she is both producing and starring in the pilot for Eltingville, a family drama that takes place on Staten Island in the 80s.

Minshew took to social media with the news about her exciting new project, teasing that Eltingville is a "kick ass, coming of age family story" that she's been working on with her dear friend, Eddie Cordiano. "Set in the 1980's in Staten Island," she shares, "Finally something my hair is right for!"

According to the project's Kickstarter page, Eltingville will focus on the Russo family -- specifically Brandon Russo, a teenager who is struggling with the loss of his mom and is tempted to go down a dangerous path.

"It's a fresh spin on the prelude to getting into a life of crime," explains series creator Cordiano. "In Staten Island in the late 80's young people looked to emulate organized crime members, not the regular people working day jobs and getting on as best they can. The story is a look into that world, which is such an interesting one with so much authentic comedy and drama built into it.'

Minshew and Cordiano are currently seeking funding to make Eltingville a reality. If you'd like to learn more and possibly give your support, check out the project's Kickstarter page.

Alicia Minshew joined All My Children as Erica Kane's (Susan Lucci) headstrong daughter, Kendall, in 2002 as a recast for original portrayer Sarah Michelle Gellar. She quickly made the role her own and played Kendall until AMC's cancellation in 2011 and for a brief period during the soap's short online run in 2013.

Some of Minshew's other credits include Beacon Hill, Tainted Dreams, and Quarantine. She can next be seen acting opposite her Pine Valley mom, Lucci, in the faith-based series Wholly Broken.
