Victor and Nikki share breakfast together. Victor is concerned about Victoria's welfare because of Tricia Dennison. Nikki wonders why the sudden alarm. Victor says he "wants a surveillance on Tricia Dennison, day and night." Because of Paul's marriage situation, he is unable to take the job as Private Detective. This causes concern for Nikki as she had spoken to Paul the day before about his situation with Christine. What Nikki didn't know was that Christine has filed for divorce. Nikki is concerned about Paul's well being and pays him a visit at his apartment. Paul mentions that Victor was chatting with Christine at Gina's a few days ago. Paul replies, "I never saw my wife." Paul then realized Christine probably stopped by the apartment to see Paul and caught Paul "making love" with Isabella. Isabella is staying with Mary Williams for the time being. Isabella wants to leave Genoa City because she feels "not to get my hopes up anymore", "and I'm not sure I can handle any more disappointments", if there is a chance of a relationship with Paul in the foreseeable future. Today is the court date for Malcolm and Olivia. Nate's babysitter Julia arrives to distract Nate while Olivia is in court. Before the proceedings start, Mamie and Neil walk in, and Alex as well for support for Malcolm. Michael questions Mamie as to Malcolm judgment as a parent. Mamie admitted she helped Malcolm in getting together with Nate behind Olivia's back but stands firm that Nate idolizes Malcolm. If Nate is cut out of Malcolm's life, Nate could grow up to be a bitterly confused child with total resentment to his mother, possibly for the rest of his life. Mamie agrees Nate needs a role model in his life and feels Malcolm is a good choice for that. Michael explains when Malcolm had a girlfriend living with him, who caused problems in his life but "the girlfriend as since moved away and from his life." Mamie admits, "The relationship is good for the boy", meaning Malcolm and Nate's relationship as father and son. Michael asked if Mamie has taught Nate to lie. Mamie replies, "children lie to protect themselves." Mamie admits, "Malcolm didn't have to persuade either of us." Michael badgers Neil about Malcolm's past as a child but Neil admits Malcolm has made mistakes, like any normal human being. Neil does admit Malcolm has come a long way since his childhood and feels Malcolm is a suitable parent for Nate. Neil admits he tried talking to Olivia about what harm this is causing Nate and feels he didn't succeed. "Nate doesn't know where to turn. He is angry with the situation." For Michael Baldwin to hold onto his case, he hand-delivers Alex a subpoena to appear as a witness.
Mackenzie and Billy have the day off from the Glo by Jabot House. Mackenzie tells Katherine, Billy has found out Jill and Sean are dating. Billy is having a hard time gripping with the new relationship. Katherine advises Mackenzie not to involve herself into Raul and Rianna's affairs. Katherine is afraid this could ruin Mackenzie's happiness with Billy. Billy stops by the Chancellor Estate to propose taking Mackenzie out on a date. Ever since they got back together, Billy hasn't had the chance to take Mackenzie on an exclusive date, just the two of them.
Ashley feels she isn't comfortable with having Colleen living with them. Brad tells Ashley "I've been wanting this for a long time, to have a relationship with my daughter, and now you're throwing that away." Ashley thinks, "Brad being more in Colleen's life is going to confuse her." Brad doesn't understand why Ashley "wants to ship Colleen back to her father's." Ashley says, "You see yourself having a different role in Colleen's life."
Billy came to visit Mac on the morning of their day off. She had been talking to Katherine about how troubled Raul and Rianna were and about Billy learning of Jill's relationship with Shawn. Billy still had something that bothered him about his mother, but wouldn't share it quite yet. They made plans for a fun date to get their minds off of things.
Ashley and Brad discussed the situation with Colleen further, adding fuel to the fire of their argument. He admitted that it was something that he had always dreamed of -- having a relationship with his daughter. Ashley said that this proved her point -- if she stayed with them much longer it could take away from what Colleen had built with Steve and not be healthy for the girl. Brad continued to disagree. The baby cried and Ashley ran to take care of her.
Victor shared breakfast with Nikki and they talked about Christine filing for a divorce from Paul. They hinted that they could relate to the situation, but didn't really want to be apart. Victor held her close and kissed her on the cheek before leaving the ranch house.
Paul was thinking about his evening with Isabella when Nikki paid him a visit. She told him that she had heard and wondered how things could have changed so quickly. He admitted that he knew what must have happened -- Christine was in the apartment the night that he made love to Isabella. . .
Mary Williams tried to convince Isabella that she should see Paul one more time before leaving town for good. Isabella was being stubborn -- whether the reason for him shunning her was that he wanted his wife back or that he had found out about her past, she didn't think she had a chance. Mary offered to talk to her son and was soon at his doorstep. She told him that she knew what he was going through and that was why she was there. . . .
The hearing began after Olivia forced Nate to leave the courtroom with the sitter. He had run to his father and hugged him, asking him if they would ever see each other again. Malcolm told him that he hoped so. The attorneys made their opening remarks and Mamie was the first witness called. While Malcolm's attorney focused on Mamie's thoughts about the boy's relationship with his father, Michael Baldwin kept asking if she thought that Malcolm was a good influence on Nate. He wanted the judge to know that Mamie and Malcolm had taught the boy to lie to his mother in order to sneak around and be with his father. A similar scenario happened with Neil was called to the stand. Before his attorney called Malcolm, Michael asked the judge if he could do something -- he had written up a subpoena for Alex Perez! He handed it to her and told her that he was calling her as a witness. . . .
Malcolm is called to the stand. He goes over his successful business and explains how much he loves Nate. He admits he's made mistakes but so does every parent. At least he's making an effort and he cares. Michael asks about why he felt it was okay for Nate to lie to his mother. It agitates Malcolm to the point where he screams at Michael. He explains his anger over Olivia's delays and Michael challenges that Malcolm took parenting into his own hands ignoring Olivia's rights as Nate's mother. Michael then questions Alex and her relationship with Malcolm. He asks what she told him when he mentioned about taking Nate to the ballgame. At first he listened to her but then ignored her sound legal advice. Olivia takes the stand next and explains what a bad influence Malcolm is on Nate both with Callie and Drucilla. Malcolm continually blames others for his mistakes and proved himself over and over as a bad influence. She acted within her right legally and was seriously undermined in her plan to let Nate move on by Malcolm's sneaking around with him. She also explains the number of times Malcolm let Nate down for his own self interest. Nate reaches out to Mal as a father simply because there are no other male figures in his life. That's not enough reason to continue visitation. Malcolm's lawyer asks about Olivia's plan to replace Mal with another male influence. Michael wants to call Nate to the stand but Olivia would prefer not to. Malcolm doesn't want to call him either. The judge wants to hear from Nate though and asks Liv to bring him ASAP.
Mary comes by to talk to Paul about him being served with divorce papers by Christine. He doesn't want to talk about it and asks her to leave. She will but asks about Isabella first. She's gone he explains to her. Mary asks about the dark secret he uncovered about Isabella. Mary wonders if that's what pushed him away. He says it wasn't. He also suspects that Mary knows where she is.
Ryan and Victoria stop by for a bite. Isabella enters and spots them. She goes up to their table and re-introduces herself to Victoria. She remembers her from the 4th of July BBQ. Victoria invites her to join them. She asks Isabella how the case is going and isn't surprised to hear that Paul solved it. Isabella hasn't made any plans yet. She asks about the Newman family connection to Paul and Chris. She asks if they know anything about Chris' plans. Ryan and Victoria sense that she seemed too interested in Paul and Christine's marriage
Isabella returns home and finds Paul waiting for her.

He goes to leave but turns and watches her from a distance. He goes back and tells her he can't talk now but relents. She kept it from him because she was ashamed. He's angry that he thought they'd share their first time together. She knows she shouldn't have slept with J.T. but she thought he loved her and promises that when it's their time it will be special. He still sees the hold J.T. has on her and he storms out. Later Billy & Mac stop by and talk with Rianna about Raul. She can't continue anymore and wants to quit the GLOW house.
Ashley and Jack talk about the GLOW sales numbers vs. B&S. Ashley's in a mood which Jack attributes to problems with Brad. Brad arrives and Jack changes the subject to the party he and Phyllis are throwing. Jack senses the tension and asks about it but neither wants to say anything. Sean and Jill interrupt. Jack asks if they're coming to his & Phyllis' party. Sean's in but Jill is skeptical. Sean changes the subject to Raul & Rianna. The viewers have picked up on the tension and the number of hits to the site doubled. Later Jack asks Ashley about the problems in the marriage and she gives him a big hug but doesn't talk about it.
