Landon, a three-time Emmy winner for her work as Gwen Norbeck on As the World Turns, began taping her first Y&R scenes in May 2012. Upon arrival in Genoa City, Landon became the third actress in as many years to play the attorney. Previous Heathers included Vail Bloom, who originated the role in June 2007. In March 2010, former All My Children star Eden Riegel was hired as the show's new Heather. Just 18 months later, in September 2011, Riegel learned via Twitter that she had been let go from the show.
Landon is the daughter of the late actor Michael Landon, who is best known for roles on Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, and Highway to Heaven.
A final airdate has yet to be announced, and Y&R does not comment on contracts or casting rumors.
Landon is the fifth actress to be let go from The Young and the Restless in the past week. To read about Y&R's other firings, click a link: Genie Francis (Genevieve), Julia Pace Mitchell (Sofia), Debbi Morgan (Harmony), Marcy Rylan (Abby), and Lindsay Bushman (Summer).
UPDATE: In an interview with TVGuide, head writer Josh Griffith, confirmed Landon's ouster, saying, "Unfortunately, she's been let go. We are losing her."
