There's talk that The Young and the Restless might be recasting the role of Drucilla Winters. Talks between
Victoria Rowell (
Drucilla Barber) and show execs broke down last month and the actress was left without a new contract. Because of the breakdown, Rowell will depart the show this fall.
Rowell, a former dancer with American Ballet Theatre, debuted as Drucilla Barber in 1990. In 1998, the actress took a break from daytime television and concentrated on film and primetime television. Rowell is a regular in the series,
Diagnosis: Murder. She's also been seen in the 1997 motion picture,
Eve's Bayou.
A casting call has gone out for a late-20something African American character. It's unclear if this could be a role recast, which seems unlikely, or the attempt to introduce another character to the canvas.
