Steffy thought she had to shoot Sheila before Sheila shot Steffy, but Sheila had a razor, not a gun, in her purse. The bullet grazed Sheila's shoulder, and Liam, Eric, and Sheila covered for Steffy when hotel security investigated the gunshot. Steffy agreed to keep Eric's whereabouts a secret if Eric would agree to stay away from Sheila. Eric acknowledged to Sheila how loyal she'd been, and Sheila asked for one small thing in return -- a kiss. Upon offering to help Caroline get Thomas back, Bill warned Thomas to stop being selfish and get his priorities in order for his son's sake.

Marlena hypnotized Sonny to try to jog his memory about the night of the murder. John returned home to Marlena only to leave again to help Paul clear Sonny's name. Abe talked to Marlena about his feelings for Valerie and his past love for Lexie. Hope and Rafe learned that the DNA results from the hotel room were not a match with Xander. Chad and Abigail were on each other's minds. Dario turned on Abigail and told her that if she turned him in, he could prove that Chad had murdered Deimos. Unaware that Justin had paid off their loan to the bank, Adrienne and Jennifer saved the paper. Lucas had harsh words for Justin for trying to move in on Adrienne. Angelica hired Hattie so they both could get the men in their lives to love them. Hattie stopped by the prison to visit her old friend Bonnie. Steve told Tripp that he thought that nurse Shelly had framed Kayla. Kate told Abigail that Dario had tricked her into marrying him. J.J. and Lani took time for some romance. John and Paul questioned Xander. Abigail walked into the club just as Hope and Rafe had arrested Dario.

Valentin was furious when he found out that Spencer had told Charlotte that Valentin had murdered Nikolas. Valentin became the prime suspect when Spencer vanished from the park. Nina was certain that Valentin was innocent, so she bailed him out of jail. Nathan warned Nina that he would not help pick up the pieces of she went back to Valentin. Valentin confided to Nina that he believed Nikolas had faked his death -- again -- and lived in hiding on the other side of the world. A distraught Laura begged Sonny to use his connections to find her grandson. Sam's mental state continued to unravel, and her fears were realized when Sonny asked Jason to aid in the search for Spencer. Sonny received a text message with a troubling picture of Spencer, sent from an unknown number. Ava was released from the hospital and went home, where she tried to hide from the world. Liesl decided the best way to hurt Finn was through Hayden, so she contacted Hayden's ex-fiancé. Finn and Hayden found their dream home. Julian asked Alexis to testify on his behalf, but Alexis was subpoenaed to be a witness for the prosecution. Curtis and Jordan broke up.

Hilary filmed footage of Victor punching Nick. Nikki learned of Nick's attempt to sabotage the concert, and she allowed Jack to whisk her away to the Abbott cabin, where they shared a kiss. Victor disowned Nick and walked out on Nikki. Victor gave Hilary permission to use the video footage as she deemed fit. Abby threw a drink in Victoria's face, causing Victoria to lose her balance and fall. Victoria insisted she was fine, but she later had headaches and trouble focusing. Abby caught Jack and Nikki kissing and worried that it would reignite the war between her families. Billy introduced Phyllis to Johnny and Katie. Victor tracked down Kevin and Chloe, but he allowed them to leave town with Bella as long as Chloe remained dead to everyone else. Ravi told Ashley that Dina had seemed confused at times, and Ashley planned to spend more time with her mother. Dina was upset with Jack for leaving her alone at the party, and she later slapped him when he made a smart remark. Mariah broke down in tears because she believed she was just a rebound to Devon. Mariah was surprised when Tessa tenderly comforted her. Devon assured Mariah that he wanted to be with her, not Hilary. Mattie and Reed drew closer as he helped her deal with her family's problems. Lily admitted that she still loved Cane, but she pulled away from making love to him. Cane asked Devon for a job, but Neil thought it was best to keep family problems out of their company. Jack contemplated hiring Cane.
