Rick and Maya announced that their little girl's name was Elizabeth Nicole. Thomas wanted to spend a little time alone with "his son" Douglas, but instead, Ridge handed Thomas a plane ticket and an indefinite assignment in Shanghai. Nicole and Maya gave a pregnancy test to Sasha and demanded that she take it. The cornered Sasha encountered a pregnant lady outside the bathroom and warned her not to flush or else the pipes would burst. As the test remained blank, Maya and Nicole accused Sasha of lying about a pregnancy. Finally, a result appeared, and Sasha asked if it was what she thought it was.

Kate and Nicole had words with each other over Deimos. Rafe was hurt when he saw Hope kissing Aiden, but Rafe did not stay around long enough to see Hope push Aiden away. Roman told Rafe to fight for Hope. Belle and Shawn made love. Claire wondered if Belle and Shawn were back together. Lucas, Doug, and Julie were there for Jennifer in her time of need. Visions of Jack helped Jennifer admit that she was an addict. John helped Steve search for Joey. Fynn went with Kayla to Los Angeles to help her find Joey. Aiden visited Chase in prison. Ciara opened up to Marlena about the rape and her feelings for Theo. Roman put J.J. in his place. Rory went after J.J. for going back on his word. Aiden worked on a plan to get Chase out of prison. Chase was critically wounded in a prison fight. Hope tried to comfort Aiden as they waited to learn if Chase would survive.

The 2016 Nurses Ball kicked off with a visit from Robin and Emma. Robin overheard Paul assure Anna that the criminal charges against Anna had been dropped. Robin was stunned that Anna had tried to kill Carlos to avenge Duke and urged Anna to find a way to move forward. Anna shared a poignant final goodbye with Duke. Lucas rushed Bobbie to the hospital when she fainted following the ball's opening number. Lucas walked in on someone intending to inject his sleeping mother with a drug. The mystery person attacked Lucas and fled. Griffin and Finn were on hand to save Lucas, but Lucas remained unconscious and in critical condition. Sonny and Michael rescued Sabrina. Sabrina made a surprise appearance at the Nurses Ball. Jordan agreed to let Sabrina return home with Michael, provided Sabrina reported to the police station in the morning. Morgan witnessed a passionate kiss between Dillon and Kiki. ELQ's assets were frozen when Nikolas filed a lawsuit against Jason. Jason decided to try to work things out with Nikolas, but tragedy struck when Nikolas' body ended up bloody and motionless at the bottom of the cliffs. Sam and Jason tried to rescue Nikolas, but Nikolas' body was swept out to sea. Carly found evidence of Ava's affair with Paul and used it to blackmail Ava into relinquishing custody of Avery. Alexis turned to Diane for legal advice.

The forensic evidence from the exhumation of Constance's body backed up the claims in Sage's journal that Constance had been poisoned. Chelsea suggested that she and Adam run, but he insisted on staying to prove that Victor had framed him. Victoria blasted Summer for sending out an email to Newman executives in Victoria's name. Summer blabbed to Victor that Nikki was filing for divorce. Luca handled a Newman emergency when Victoria was busy having sex with Travis. Mariah kissed Kevin, and he chose spending time with Mariah over an extravagant trip with Natalie. Michael's license to practice law was reinstated. Sharon, Nick, and their families commemorated the anniversary of Cassie's death. Jill returned to town for the dedication of a hospital wing in Katherine's name, but she bristled when she learned the wing would be named after both Katherine and Hilary's mother, Rose. Hilary was livid when Jack sided with Phyllis about having two separate dedications. Lily and Cane plotted to get Devon on their side where Hilary was concerned. Ashley suspected that Billy had become serious about another woman. Billy prepared a romantic lunch for Phyllis, but she rejected him and joined Jack for a hotel getaway. Billy had sex with Bethany and resisted the urge to gamble. Jill walked in as Billy pointedly told Phyllis and Jack that he wouldn't give up on the woman he loved.
