What happened during the week of July 7, 2014

Wyatt arrived just in time to stop Quinn from killing Liam, and as she checked herself into a mental facility, Liam and Wyatt drew closer as brothers. Liam asked Wyatt to be the best man in Liam's wedding to Hope, and Wyatt wistfully accepted. Ricardo, the blue diamond's owner, died and left the jewel to Wyatt, the one man he knew loved it as much as he did. Ridge returned to work but was frustrated at his inability to remember how to design. Bill assured Justin that they were probably in the clear about Ridge's accident, but when Ridge saw Justin's face, details about the accident resurfaced in Ridge's mind. Rick and Eric considered Eric's niece Ivy Forrester to replace Quinn at Forrester.

What happened during the week of July 7, 2014

Nicole offered to help E.J. with his case, but he wanted no part of it. Sami and Kate played out their scheme and forced the board to elect them as co-CEO's. E.J. asked Abigail to keep quiet about what she knew. Sami told a horrified E.J. that she knew that he had cheated on her with Abigail. Sami revealed her plan of revenge to a devastated E.J. Sami lashed out at Abigail for betraying her and having an affair with E.J. Jennifer tried to comfort Abigail after Sami left her in tears. Clyde arrived in Salem and met with Kate, who told him where to find Jordan. Clyde spied on Jordan and Ben. Brady threatened John and tried to get his father out of his life. Brady and Theresa jetted off to Las Vegas. Theresa used Brady's drunken state as part of her own agenda. Jennifer's plan to settle things with Eve for J.J. and Paige's sake did not go as planned. Eve asked Daniel out on a date, but he refused. Eve and J.J. reached an understanding. Hope caught Aiden's eye. A waltz sparked romance for Hope and Aiden. Marlena displayed a new talent to save the gala.

What happened during the week of July 7, 2014

Tragedy struck when Rafe suffered a devastating seizure from a brain injury he had sustained in the car accident. Molly escaped with minor injuries, but Rafe was rushed into surgery to relieve pressure on the brain. Patrick was the only neurosurgeon available, so Liesl ordered Patrick to perform the life-saving surgery on Rafe. During surgery, Patrick wrestled with his conscience about whether or not to allow Rafe to die. A blood vessel burst, leaving Rafe brain-dead. Silas was certain that Patrick had somehow been responsible for Rafe's condition because Patrick had wanted Rafe to die. Monica broke the news that Alice had collapsed at ELQ from a heart attack and would need a heart transplant because of Alice's advanced coronary disease. Alice was determined to warn Michael about Tracy's scheme to oust him from ELQ but fate continually intervened on Tracy's behalf. Nathan and Maxie complained about each other, prompting Dante and Lulu to each question if Nathan and Maxie were falling for each other. Levi revealed that his visa had expired, but he assured Maxie that new paperwork had been filed. Maxie was stunned when an agent from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement showed up on her doorstep, looking for Levi, because of an anonymous tip. Maxie was certain that Nathan had reported Levi. Lulu was delighted when she was told that she could carry a child to term. Brad became jealous when he learned that Felix had spent the night under the same roof as Lucas and that Lucas was attracted to Felix. Lucas decided who he wanted to pursue a relationship with, but he changed his mind when he walked in on Brad kissing Felix during a heated argument.

At Ian's urging, Mariah convinced Sharon and Nick to let her move in with them. Paul and Dylan looked forward to getting to know one another as father and son. Paul reconsidered his and Christine's plan to have a baby. Ian refused Nikki's offer to settle his emotional distress lawsuit out of court, and the prosecution intended to call Dylan as a witness. Dylan was released from the hospital. Nikki was tempted to drink. Neil was livid when Lily pushed Hilary into the pool. Neil planned to surprise Hilary with a dream house. Billy and Chelsea made love, and Victoria was livid when she overheard them discussing their night together. Victoria scheduled a paternity test. Chelsea attempted to end her friendship with Billy to avoid being hurt, but he protested by pulling her into a passionate kiss. Jack threatened to have Summer and Austin's marriage declared fraudulent. Austin told Summer he loved her, and they planned a church wedding to prove their love was real. Kelly tried to convince Jack to walk Summer down the aisle, while Austin pleaded with Nick to do the same thing. Sharon had a flashback of dropping her lipstick in the stairwell.
