Caroline looked forward to her first Forrester holiday with Rick, and Taylor's family decided to volunteer at a shelter in Stephanie's honor. Pam tried to carry on the family holiday tradition at the mansion, but the heartbroken Eric had different plans. When the family gathered on Christmas Day, they all wondered where Eric had gone. Thorne and Felicia tortured Pam until she revealed Eric's whereabouts, and the family found Eric in a private theater box, taking in a Celtic Woman concert. On a table in the booth were two martinis, one for him and one for Stephanie. Hope revealed to Liam that Rick's lie had robbed them of their chance to be together, and she apologized for doubting Liam. Hope proclaimed her intention to fight for Liam, but Steffy vowed to hold on tight. Bill fumed over Caroline's decision to betray him, and nothing Katie or Brooke could say would calm him down. Caroline awaited Bill on his grand terrace to tell him what she'd done, and when Bill met her there, he seethed that she'd betrayed him.

What happened during the week of December 24, 2012
Kayla caught up with Abe and asked him about his plans for the holidays. Will was thrilled when Sonny asked him to spend Christmas Eve with his family. In turn, Will invited Sonny to join him at the Horton home for the annual tradition of hanging the family ornaments on the tree. Abigail invited Chad, who had planned to be alone for Christmas, to the Horton home for the holiday. Jennifer and Daniel enjoyed a fun date at the Brady Pub. Bo, Daniel, Justin, and Brady presented Victor with a special Christmas gift. Kristen gave Brady a photograph that had a special meaning to him, but he was unaware that the gift was part of her plan for revenge. Kristen and Brady shared a romantic Christmas morning, only to be interrupted by Chad and E.J., who almost caught them making love. Sami was disappointed that Rafe had other plans for Christmas. Later, she caught up with Rafe and asked him why he had avoided her during the holiday. Rafe told her that he was tired of the games and of competing with E.J. for her affection, and that they were through. Caroline and Eric counseled Sami about her love life. Nicole encouraged Eric to confide in her about what had happened to him in the Congo. After, he was relieved to unburden himself of the trauma that caused his ongoing nightmares. Nicole asked Eric to spend New Year's Eve with her, but he refused because he planned to volunteer at the men's homeless shelter. Nicole and Rafe, both lonely and remembering their lost loves, decided to ring in the new year together. E.J. asked Sami, who thought that Rafe was part of her past, to spend New Year's Eve with him, and she agreed. E.J. suggested to Chad and Abigail that they should explore their feelings for each other. Will had a nightmare about never getting to know his child. Later, Will told Gabi that he had second thoughts about their arrangement to let her and Nick raise his child. Nick started to show signs of his true nature. John told Marlena that he was concerned that Brady would be alone for New Year's Eve. Kristen got the best of Marlena during a chance meeting at Horton Square. John walked in on Brady and Kristen making love.

What happened during the week of December 24, 2012
Michael told Starr about his rape in Pentonville, so Starr assured him that it didn't change how she felt about him. Michael and Starr spent the Christmas holiday in bed, making love. Michael assured Sonny that A.J. could never change how Michael felt about Sonny, but Michael remained determined to have a relationship with A.J. Connie stashed Johnny in an office at the
Haunted Star, bound to a chair and gagged. Starr was shocked when she discovered what Connie had done to Johnny. Connie knocked Starr out and managed to move Johnny to the trunk of her car. Trey and Kristina ran into Connie in the parking garage, so Trey told Connie about his plans to move. Kristina was startled when she heard a thumping sound in the trunk of Connie's car. Todd and Carly spent Christmas together. Lulu and Dante were delighted when it was confirmed that Maxie was pregnant with their baby. Ellie was devastated when Spinelli stranded her at Sonny's house on Christmas Eve to help Maxie through a panic attack, so Ellie decided to end her relationship with Spinelli. Spinelli implored Ellie to give him a second chance, but Ellie suspected that Maxie would always be Spinelli's first priority. Spinelli proposed that he and Ellie meet on the hospital's rooftop at midnight on New Year's Eve if they were committed to salvaging their relationship. Ellie agreed, provided that Spinelli be honest with himself about who he really wanted to be with: Ellie or Maxie. Monica informed Tracy and A.J. that Lucy Coe had one percent of ELQ's shares, so Lucy could break the tie in the battle for control for ELQ. Lucy announced that ELQ would fund the Nurses' Ball.

Jack and Phyllis spent Christmas together, but Phyllis left before they got too intimate. Nick discovered that Avery was holding the dog tags of a soldier named Dylan. Adam finally shared his grief about the miscarriage with Chelsea. When Adam told his wife how Sharon had helped him realize that he belonged with her, Chelsea misunderstood and walked out on Adam. Victor insulted Billy during Christmas, prompting Victoria to lash out at her father. Victor threatened Adam to get him to seize Newman Enterprises from Jack. Nick and Sharon celebrated Christmas with their kids. Sharon interviewed with Cane to become the face of Jabot. Nick told Phyllis that his relationship with Avery was serious. Lauren and Michael discovered Fen's burner phone. Fen demanded that Summer choose between him and Jamie. Kevin shared his plan with Chloe to recover the money that Alex, the New York Police Department detective, was seeking. Chloe discovered that there was a huge reward for finding the missing money. Michael learned that Jamie had been beaten at the group home. Michael insisted Jamie move in with the Baldwins. Cane warned Lily that Tyler had a crush on her. For Christmas, Tucker asked Katherine to give him a chance to make peace with her. Jill informed Tucker that Kay's stress level had put her health in danger. Jack resorted to buying pills from a drug dealer. Kyle, Phyllis, Billy, and Neil staged an intervention for Jack, but he denied he was an addict. Jack then fired them all. After a run-in with Sharon, Victor had new instructions for his private detective.

Babe continued to manipulate JR. Someone dressed as Santa took Little Adam through the tunnels of Chandler Mansion. Erin insisted that Jonathan would return home as promised. Greg told Erica he had fallen madly in love with her the first time he saw her. Babe told JR she wanted to marry him. Kendall was thrilled to see Bianca and Miranda. Jack surprised Erica with a new house for their family. Babe wondered whether she and JR could have a future together. Little Adam went missing. JR attacked Jonathan and demanded that he return Little Adam. Ryan and Erin defended Jonathan. Babe and JR suspected Amanda might be involved in Little Adam's disappearance. Zach misinterpreted what Kendall was about to tell him. Adam tried to comfort Krystal. Bianca was angered by Zach's news. Erin began to believe that Jonathan could be involved in Little Adam's disappearance. Little Adam was found safe. Kendall ran into an old friend. Bianca told Zach the truth about Kendall. Zach told Bianca he was doing the right thing where Kendall was concerned. Ryan and Kendall were stunned by what they found in the chapel. Di traveled to Europe... to visit Dixie.

After hearing Lily and Keith argue over Lily's decision to spend Christmas with Holden, Luke went out and got drunk. Jennifer found comfort in Dusty's arms. Hal persuaded Jennifer not to press charges against Emily. Olga captured Henry and dragged him back to the wine cellar. Gwen announced her desire to have another baby. BJ learned that Katie and Mike had been playing him.

Vanessa sparked a sincere love interest between Dinah and Mallet as the two enjoyed an unexpected Christmas Eve together. Gus was paranoid with the fear that Alan would be released from the sanitarium and threaten to harm Harley and her family. Alan-Michael worked Harley so that she re-hired him at Spaulding, and then he set his sights on winning over Marina. Lizzie was jealous of Coop's attention to Ava, who was surprised that Sandy kissed her. Reva tried desperately to make Christmas Eve a very special night for the Lewis and Shane families, but Billy's secret drinking sparked a free-for-all when Jonathan and Tammy decided to go home and were greeted by disapproval and angry family members that forced them to spend the holiday with each other and away from the family. Buzz was surprised and disappointed that Frank caught Olivia's eye and that the two might be interested in each other.

Antonio took Tess to the loft, and when Jessica emerged, he told her he wanted to help raise the baby, even if he was not the father; he did, however, ask Jessica to get a paternity test. Dorian refused to be happy for Kelly's engagement, and then had drinks and flirted with Clint after Dallas broke up with him. Viki lit into Clint about his flirting with Dorian. Thanks to Spencer, an inflammatory article on Todd was printed in
Craze, causing Blair to fire an innocent David. David tried to reach out to Dorian for Christmas, but she pushed him away again. Spencer thought about yelling a warning to Margaret to stay away from Blair and the kids. After his release from prison, Cristian visited Natalie and refused to sign the divorce papers, then kissed her as a present-laden John watched from the window. Bo ordered John to talk to a psychiatrist. Michael asked Marcie if they could try to date again. Nash was unconscious in the hospital because of the beating, but fought to call Tess when he woke up.

Tabitha decided to leave town to avoid Norma and Edna but found that she couldn't leave Endora. The dastardly duo caught up with her at the park, and after a few chases around the Christmas tree, Endora zapped them inside of a Christmas tree ornament. The FBI finally got a lead on Ethan being at the cabin and restored him to his wife and the ICU, where she would turn off his life support. Alistair bailed Fancy and Theresa out of jail, and Fancy found a way to help Noah celebrate the holiday in jail. Despite all of their quarreling, the good folks of Harmony found themselves and their loved ones at church for Christmas Eve mass. All of the black sheep and prodigal children were warmly embraced by their families. Father Lonigan invited a latecomer to join them, and everyone appeared to be surprised by a Christmas miracle -- the arrival of a recovered Ethan wheeling himself in a wheelchair.
