Liam told Hope that he wanted to marry her as soon as possible. Steffy confided in Ridge and Taylor that she knew Liam had to explore his relationship with Hope. But, she was also confident that Liam would return to Steffy. At Hope's suggestion, Liam asked Justin to draw up paperwork for an annulment, and Justin delivered the papers to Steffy, who refused to sign them. Liam visited Steffy, and encourged her to sign the papers, but she refused. Steffy told Liam that a divorce would take a few months, and by the end of the few months' time, Steffy was confident that Liam would be bored with Hope and return to Steffy. Rick, Brooke, Taylor, Ridge, and Katie each visited Liam to make a case for either Hope or Steffy. Liam told everyone that he planned to marry Hope. Everyone gathered at Brooke's house for a wedding, and no one told Hope that Steffy hadn't signed the papers, so Hope was ready to be married. Brooke sent Ridge to encourage Steffy to sign the papers. When Ridge returned to his home, Hope was ready to walk down the aisle.
Sami and Austin went ballistic when they caught Carrie and Rafe in a passionate kiss at their office. Sami, guilty about her tryst with E.J., kicked Rafe out of the house and refused to give him the opportunity to explain what had happened. Rafe, overly apologetic over his misdeed, begged Sami for forgiveness, unaware that Sami's actions were the real cause of their marital woes. Carrie admitted to Austin that she had feelings for Rafe. Marlena advised Carrie to think first before acting on her feelings for Rafe, as her decision might affect many lives. Austin, disgusted with what he witnessed, left Carrie's office and got drunk. Abigail found an inebriated Austin in his office and was more than happy to heal his wounded heart. In the morning, Abigail tricked Austin and told him that they had slept together, and admitted that she had feelings for him. Austin, concerned about his marriage, decided not to tell Carrie about his alleged fling with Abigail. He told Carrie that he was just as much to blame for their recent estrangement and encouraged her to work with him to put their marriage back on track. Carrie was surprised at his response, and agreed to try to put the past behind them. Austin worried about how to let Abigail down easily. Rafe decided to resign from Reed and Hernandez in the hope that it would help save his marriage. Will was outraged that Sami had kicked Rafe out of the house and almost let it slip to him that Sami had slept with E.J. Will called Sami a slut and a whore, and said that he hated her for ruining their family, and then left the apartment in a rage. Stefano confided to Kate about the secret that John and Hope were married, and that it was going to be a challenge for them to get their lives in order. John, Marlena, Bo, and Hope visited Stefano, hoping to find some answers about their arranged marriage. However, later Carrie advised them that it would be a difficult road ahead and that John and Hope would have to travel together to Alamania in order to get a divorce. Madison's mystery contact arrived in Salem and followed her around town. Brady told Madison that he loved her, and later surprised her with a marriage proposal. She was very overwhelmed and touched, but strangely did not give him an answer. Brady decided to go back to Madison's hotel room and convince her to say yes. He got the shock of his life when a man answered the door and introduced himself to Brady as Madison's husband. Abigail was crushed when she saw Carrie and Austin kissing in Horton Square.

What happened during the week of
Sonny confronted Kate about going to Chicago, instead of to Palm Springs on business, so she confessed that she was in Chicago to see a therapist. Kate was shaken when a man named Marc left her a message to call him. Sonny decided to host a dedication ball at Metro Court to announce his plans to donate a pulmonary wing at General Hospital. Carly was shocked when Kate revealed that Jax had sold Kate his shares of the hotel. Sonny felt betrayed by Kate's business deal with Jax. After a heated argument with Sonny, Kate returned home to look at the wedding dress, which was covered with her blood, that she had worn when she was shot on the altar. Spinelli agreed to help Maxie make Matt jealous, but their ruse failed. Maxie grew frustrated that Matt spent more time focusing on Elizabeth than on her, so she decided to push Ewen in Elizabeth's direction. Matt grew tired of Maxie's ongoing games, so he broke things off with her. Ewen offered Elizabeth some advice on how to deal with Cameron, who was acting out because Lucky was gone. Elizabeth was surprised when Ewen asked her to go to the ball at Metro Court. Jason and Sam were overjoyed when Kelly revealed that the paternity test confirmed that Jason was the father of Sam's baby. Jason and Sam spent some time celebrating the good news at the cabin where they had spent their first wedding night. Monica was delighted when Jason told her about the baby. Jason continued to experience problems as a result of the swelling on his brain. Jason collapsed after he found a gift from Franco on the balcony of the penthouse. Robin learned that the new drug protocol was working. Alexis was stunned when Diane confessed to sleeping with Mac. Cassandra was revealed to be in cahoots with Helena.

Patty was sent to a prison mental hospital. Adam's blindness seemed to be permanent. Nina was brokenhearted over Ronan leaving on a new FBI mission. Before going, Ronan told Nina that he loved her. Anita moved into the garage apartment to stay with Chelsea. Billy and Victoria hired Paul to investigate Anita. Sharon convinced Adam to recuperate at Hope's farm in Kansas. Walsh finally agreed to drop all the charges against Nikki. Chelsea and Anita conspired to rip off Billy and Victoria. Jill took Jeffrey to see Gloria, but his amnesia persisted. Angelo ordered Dino to kill Kevin, but Angelina intervened and said she was marrying Kevin. Ashley fired Genevieve from Jabot. Michael was unable to invalidate Genevieve's purchase of Beauty of Nature. Kevin returned to town with Angelina after their wedding. Chloe angrily slapped Kevin's face when she saw that he was married to Angelina. Victor was thrilled when Nikki moved back to the ranch. Angelina hated Devon's remix of her single and fired him. Cane and Lily planned a Valentine's Day wedding. Avery learned her father was on his deathbed, but Phyllis refused to go see him. Paul was enraged when Ricky published Patty's story on a true crime blog. Genevieve asked Neil to be COO of Beauty of Nature. Victor rehired Nick. Jack remained paralyzed from the waist down.

Mateo and Raquel searched for Max after Hayley "lost" the boy at the park. Later, Raquel went to see Max at the hunting lodge where she had hidden him. Promising to help Ryan beat his rape charge, Braden panicked Kit with his threat to tell the press that she was a con artist who'd filed false rape charges in the past. Trevor threatened to get the DNA evidence against Ryan thrown out of court, since Jack had coerced Ryan into giving a blood sample. Marian and Stuart finally said, "I do." Erica stumbled upon David's file that noted that Adam was really the father of baby Colby.

Drew plotted with Danny's cousin to pass him off as her new boyfriend, unaware that he was a priest. The FBI raided the Santos home and specifically Danny and Michelle's bedroom.
