HBO's über-popular Game of Thrones may be the most-watched on-demand television program at the moment, but soap operas General Hospital and The Young and the Restless surprisingly aren't far behind in many places across the nation.
According to stats released by Xfinity's X1 on-demand service, Y&R ranked as the fourteenth most-watched on-demand show in the Pittsburgh area in 2017, and it came in as number seventeen in the southern United States.
Meanwhile, 2017 saw GH come in as the thirteenth most-watched on-demand program in Philadelphia, the eighteenth most-watched on-demand program in Chicago, and the twelfth most-watched on-demand program in Michigan.
Though the soaps' on-demand performances are impressive, neither show ranked in the top twenty on-demand programs of the year nationwide. Those honors go to the shows listed below.
