Get ready for a blast from the past, daytime fans, because Holly Cate (ex-Janice Maxwell, As the World Turns; ex-Elinor, Guiding Light) and One Life to Live's Reiko Aylesworth (ex-Rebecca Lewis) have both been cast in the edgy new web series, The Other F Word.
Created by award-winning filmmaker Caytha Jentis (Bad Parents, And Then Came Love), the new, single-camera comedy follows the exploits of a group of women friends who are discovering that the angst of raising kids may be nothing compared to the angst of facing middle age after the kids are grown.
"It's a chapter of life for women that has yet to be dealt with episodically," Jentis told PR Web. "Up until now, men have held a monopoly on the depiction of mid-life crises on TV and in the movies... I am very excited to produce an edgy, on-the-mark, breakthrough show for this huge yet under-serviced desirable demographic."
Production on The Other F Word began this week, with actors Steve Guttenberg, Michael Boatman, two-time Emmy Award winner Judy Gold, and comedian Ben Bailey joining Cate and Aylesworth as part of the ensemble cast.
After leaving GL and ATWT, Cate went on to voice for the animated series Team Umizoomi. Aylesworth left OLTL in 1994 and found quite a bit of post-daytime success on shows like 24, ER, Lost, Damages, Hawaii Five-0, Revolution, All Souls, and The American Embassy.
