Time to celebrate CBS Daytime's The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, because both scored their highest year-end ratings in years.

Congratulations are in order for CBS Daytime, which completed the 2014-2015 broadcast year in the number one position -- for the 29th year in a row.

But not only did the network's two soaps pull in the largest numbers of all daytime dramas, both delivered their best ratings in several years.

Y&R managed to average 5.21 million viewers, which is a one percent increase from last year and its largest audience since the 2009-2010 television season. Meanwhile, B&B pulled in an average of 3.94 total viewers, up two percent since last year and the show's largest audience since 2005-2006.

In case you are wondering what else was going on back when CBS Daytime first reached the top spot back in 1986: the hot Halloween costume for young girls was She-Ra and kids everywhere were asking Santa for the first Nintendo Entertainment System.

Y&R is co-executive produced by Jill Farren Phelps and Charles Pratt, with Pratt serving as head writer. Bradley P. Bell serves both as B&B's executive producer and head writer.

What do you think of the strong ratings B&B and Y&R pulled in this year? What storylines do you think are responsible for the increase in viewership? Do you think what you're currently seeing on screen is the best you've seen in years? We want to hear from you -- so drop your comments in the Comments section below, tweet about it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, or chat about it on our Message Boards.
