Former Passions star Kelli McCarty (ex-Beth Wallace) has transitioned from soap opera villainess to adult entertainment vixen. McCarty, a former Miss USA, appears in the newly released X-rated DVD, Faithless.
"I enjoy acting, and I really like sex," says the 39-year-old McCarty, "so this was the perfect opportunity to combine two of my passions. I approached Vivid with the idea of shooting a film with a sexy but interesting storyline, and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of control I was given throughout the production process. I am very pleased with the final edit of Faithless, and I just may do another adult film."
The plot of Faithless reads very much like that of a soap opera -- just with a little less clothing. McCarty plays Callie, a woman who is at the tipping point in her marriage. She is convinced that her husband has wandering eyes and fears that he might be doing a little more than letting his eyes wander. Callie seduces her stepdaughter's boyfriend and, according to the releasing company, "sexual fireworks follow."
Faithless was produced by Vivid Entertainment, the top-selling name in adult entertainment.
According to Vivid co-chairman Steven Hirsch, McCarty's appearance "marks the first time that a Miss USA, let alone an established TV actress, has made the reverse crossover into adult. As it turns out, she's a natural porn star."
McCarty won the title of Miss Kansas in 1990 and was crowned Miss USA in 1991. She placed fourth in the Miss Universe competition that same year. Upon completion of her reign as Miss USA, McCarty turned to a career in acting. She appeared on several primetime series, including, Melrose Place, Beverly Hills, 90210, and Diagnosis Murder.
After a chain of successful guest appearances in primetime, McCarty landed her first role as a series regular in NBC's Passions. McCarty appeared as Beth Wallace from 1999 through 2006.
Now that she has her first adult film under her belt, McCarty says that she is "open to discussing [appearing in another] and perhaps directing."
