At Lucy's Place, Livvie arrives to visit Alison after receiving a call from Alison about Rafe's disappearance. Alison explains that she and Rafe were just talking about having a baby when he disappeared and Alison has no way to know where he went.

Alison is shocked, then, when her friend told her that she should be GLAD that Rafe is gone.

Meanwhile, in the Manhattan alley, a surprised Ian searches for Amy but finds only one old homeless man.

At the Lighthouse, Lucy and Kevin enter the studio and are shocked to find Christina alone. When they ask where Paige went, Christina replies: "She was right here and then she wasn't there any more.'

Ian calls Kevin and told him that Amy literally vanished right before his eyes JUST as she was about to tell him what has been going on with her. Kevin admits that Paige has also disappeared.

KEVIN: Paige disappeared too.
IAN: You mean, she left the house?
KEVIN: The word is vanished!

Meanwhile, 'Upstairs', Rafe, Amy, Paige and Casey are being admonished by Angel Boss Ed for their unangelic behavior. As Ed lists the angels' various misdeeds, he begins by reminding Rafe that it was NOT wise to be thinking about starting a family with his pretty blond girlfriend. Turning to Paige, Ed points out that Kevin was NOT strolling down memory lane for the exercise - but rather that Kevin was fishing to find out who Paige was and where she came from. Paige hotly protests that that simply is NOT true, that Kevin 'loves' her! AND, Ed continues, Amy was just about to spill everything to Ian. When Casey points out that SHE is not talking, Ed reminds Casey that she was all set to lose her virginity to someone she just met. 'You four delinquents are making me look bad, very bad,' Ed informs them, 'And it leaves me no choice except to put an end to it.'

Meanwhile as Ian and Kevin speak on the phone, they discover that there was a flash of lighting in BOTH places when Amy and Paige disappeared. Ian asks whether or not Paige touched anything before she disappeared, and Kevin mentions the book that Paige was reading to Christina. Ian suggests that Kevin dust for fingerprints and further suggests that Kevin won't find anything, and it will be 'as if she doesn't even exist.'

Lucy returns and is very angry that Paige left Christina alone, ESPECIALLY since Christina is NOT feeling well.

In Heaven, Ed admonishes Paige for playing games with 'the white light', as Paige insists that Kevin was NOT stringing her along, but Ed told them bluntly: "You four have broken the rules, big time.'

Amy admits that Ian almost tricked her into revealing the truth about herself, 'but I'm on to him now.'

But Ed continues, as he points out to Casey, that it is OK for her to like Ricky and Casey quickly observes that Ricky would be a total pain up in heaven, so it SHOULD be OK for Ed to leave Ricky alone.

ED: I can see what's inside your heart.
CASEY: How can you know when I don't?
ED: You don't give away something that's precious to you until it means something.

Then Ed went on to point out that Rafe should know better than any one of them that he has no business discussing starting a family with Alison. 'How many angels do you see carrying diaper bags?' Ed asks. "Zero!' Ed points out that who does and who does not have children is decided in heaven, so Rafe's plans for a family with Alison would not get very far without heavenly assistance.

As Paige angrily insists that they are tired of being scolded like schoolchildren, she asks what their punishment could be. Amy points out that they are already dead and Casey asks WHAT she would be WAITING for - another angel? Casey insists that her decisions about Ricky were her private business and that Ed had no business bringing that up in front of everyone.

When Paige says: 'Everyone who is tired of the unending criticism should raise their hands,' all the angels raise their hands.

Amy points out that, 'We're doing the best we can and if you don't like it, you can just go to hell!'

Rafe says 'Oh, oh,' and then urges Ed to stop, as Amy continues saying: "We're capable of taking care of ourselves.' But Ed claps his hands and the women disappear.

RAFE: Where did they go?
ED: Amy saying 'go to hell' gave me an idea.

Meanwhile, back at the Lighthouse, as Lucy rants to Kevin about what an IMproper house guest Paige has turned out to be, Kevin admits that he HAS been trying to figure out Paige and insists that he IS going to find out what her purpose is.

Meanwhile, at Lucy's place, Alison is insisting to Livvie that Rafe is NOT like Caleb. 'Rafe is good and gentle and kind and he loves me and now he is gone.'

Livvie admits that she DOES like Rafe but that Caleb and Rafe both share one thing in common and that is that they are fantasy men who use magic to dazzle.

LIVVIE: It's magic - a trick - that does NOT last!

Alison reminds her friend that if Rafe was NOT an angel - but a mortal with only a couple of weeks left to live - Livvie would see nothing wrong with loving someone who will be gone in a few weeks. Livvie points out that maybe this WAS Rafe's last noble act and THAT is why he is gone. But Alison insists that Rafe did NOT want to leave and WANTED to spend every possible moment with Alison that he could. Alison then told Livvie that Rafe was worried that he would be 'called back' if anyone figured out about there being angels in Port Charles, then asks whether or not Livvie told someone else about Rafe being an angel.

Meanwhile, up in heaven, Rafe told Ed that he believes that Ed had played a 'cheap trick' on Casey, Amy and Paige, so Ed claps his hands again and the UNangelic angels return, indicating it has been a bit warm where they have just been. Ed then told them all that he needed to remind them that their journey CAN end up in one of two ways and that it is amazing what a little field trip can do.

When Amy asks if their blunders mean they will all be pulled back now, Ed admits that it is 'too late,' because they have started things down below that now have to be finished. So, Ed told them that ED will have to clock out and go down to try to straighten out the mess they have made of things.

When Rafe asks about the Fifth Chair, Ed told him that he will find out when the time comes, and not before.

Meanwhile, at Lucy's Place, Livvie insists to Alison that she NEVER told anyone about Rafe, adding that, if she wanted to blow the whistle on Rafe, she would have done it long ago. As she prepares to leave, Livvie told Alison: 'This can only end badly for you, Alison. Trust me!'

After Livvie leaves, Alison continues to cry alone until she feels a pair of arms around her and realizes that Rafe has returned as mysteriously as he disappeared. Clutching him fiercely, Alison sobs, 'Don't ever leave!'

Meanwhile, at the Lighthouse, Lucy is in Kevin's studio, studying Paige's portrait, when Christina arrives and asks: "Is Paige back yet?' When Lucy admits that their guest is still 'away,' Christina asks: "Did Paige go to heaven like my other Mommy?' Lucy assures Christina that Paige is fine and takes Christina out to tuck her back into bed and read her another story.

Downstairs, Ian arrives and he and Kevin discuss whether they think Paige and Amy are ghosts, space aliens or maybe even vampires as they compare notes: Both Amy and Paige showed up at the same time, both have identical watches, both left at the same time...But they are interrupted by the doorbell. As he went to answer the door, Kevin suggests to Ian that he should fix him a drink - he thinks they are going to need one. But when Kevin answers the door, it is Amy and Paige who walk in, followed by Ed.

KEVIN: Look who just showed up.
IAN: Who are you?
ED: Someone with answers for you about Amy and Paige. It's time you knew the truth!'

Ed told Ian and Kevin that he was responsible for Amy and Paige and that, if the men kept snooping, the women would be in great danger. He implied the women were part of a witness protection program but Ian and Kevin didn't believe it. They reluctantly agreed to back off. Gaby was feeling better but Jamal and Ricky bickered. Joe came in with good news for Gaby and asked her to come back to live with him and she decided to go. She asked Jamal and Ricky to stop fighting. Jamal is angry with Casey for messing with his motorcycle. He told Ricky to keep Casey away from him. Casey leaves, but not before needling Jamal about his being "kicked to the curb" by Alison. Ricky and Jamal decide that they should just stay out of each other's way. As they are talking, they are approached by two men looking for a game of dice. While the men are setting up the game, Ricky switches the dice for a pair of his own.

Alison wonders if Rafe has something on his mind. He told her yes, but he can't talk about it. Alison begs him to talk; she can't take any more secrets. Rafe is adamant. There are some things he just can't discuss with her. Alison confides that Rafe's disappearance made her realize what it will be like when he's gone. Rafe assures her they have a love that will never die. Alison won't let the subject drop. She wants to know if she caused Rafe to be called back when she started talking about the possibility of having a baby. He told her that a baby is not in the cards for them. Alison accepts this, then told Rafe that when his time on earth is up, she doesn't want him to disappear, but to have time for a proper good bye.

As Alison went to the kitchen to finish up her baking, Casey comes to the door. She whines that this life is turning out to be worse than the last one. Then she went on about the problems she is having with Ricky. Alison overhears and figures out that Casey must be the other angel in town. Casey freaks when she realizes she has let out the secret and takes off. Alison also overheard Casey refer to the fifth chair. She demands to know who is going to die.

At the hospital, Eve confronts Ian and Amy. She is angry that he ran off with Amy once again leaving her to find a babysitter for Danny. Her anger boils over as she snaps at Ian, "How long have you been sleeping with this Bitch!!" Ian tries to calm down Eve by saying that it isn't what it looks like. Eve isn't listening, she told Amy that she isn't the first woman for Ian and brought up Lucy and Arianna. Next, Eve told Amy that she knows Chris Ramsey is digging up her secret. Eve vows to help Chris and when she finds out what Amy is hiding, Eve plans to shout it from the rooftop.

Ian stands up for Amy and asks Eve to stop. It makes Eve even angrier to know that Ian is cheating AND taking Amy's side. Ian beeper went off leaving Eve and Amy alone. Eve turns on Amy telling her that the only reason Ian is interested in her is because she is a poor, little blind girl who is helpless and needy. Eve leaves to go to the roof for some fresh air. Amy follows wanting to finish their conversation. The conversation turns heated, and as Eve and Amy struggle, the railing breaks.

Rafe and Alison are at Lucy's place and Alison has started to figure out that 'the Fifth Chair' means that someone is going to die and that that person will be close to Casey - or to Rafe. Then Alison speculates as to why there would be a Fifth Chair and decides it must mean there are four angels instead of just Rafe and Casey. Then Alison wonders if SHE will be going back with Rafe. Rafe insists to Alison that she is going to have a long and happy life. But Alison immediately wonders how happy her life could be if it would be a life without Rafe there to share it with her. But Rafe begs her: 'Don't go there.'

At the Lighthouse, Paige told Kevin that she is packed and ready to go as Kevin holds Christina, who is still not feeling well. When Kevin went to answer the phone in the kitchen, he puts Christina in Paige's lap. And Paige told Christina: 'I love you as if you were my own little girl.'

Lucy overhears Paige and jumps all over Paige, telling her she does NOT want her talking to HER daughter that way, since Christina has just lost her OWN mother and now Paige is going away as well.

On the Hospital roof, as Amy and Eve struggle with each other, the railing gives way and both of them fall over. However, Ian arrives in time to grab Eve but Eve told Ian that Amy fell.

At Casey's room at the Scanlons, Casey complains about the state of her life now that Ricky has brushed her off and looks at the key around her neck.

In the Emergency Room, Eve and Ian are both astonished to learn that Amy is OK - there are some cuts and bruises, but nothing more serious. The attending doctor remarks that it was as if 'someone upstairs had their eye on her.' However, when Ian asks Amy what happened, Amy says that she grabbed Eve and then Eve grabbed her and the next thing she knew, she was flying.

When Ian asks Eve if that is what happened, Eve leaps to the conclusion that Ian is implying that Eve actually attempted to kill Amy by throwing her off the roof.

At the Scanlons, Casey decides she will find her tightest outfit and go find a 'fine man,' but her britches rip and she ends up staying home instead.

At the Light House, Lucy grabs Christina away from Paige while Kevin demands to know what is going on. Paige defends herself by saying that she merely told Christina that she loved her and that was all. Lucy angrily grabs Christina and carries her off to bed.

When Lucy leaves, Kevin suggests to Paige that it would be easier if he could only tell Lucy about the witness Protection Program. But Paige says that the more Lucy knows, the more likely it would be that Lucy would end up in danger herself. Then Kevin once again promises Paige that they WILL get a chance to finish Paige's portrait.

Lucy returns and suggests that they all get to bed. Paige agrees and told Lucy that she never meant any harm. Lucy replies that she hopes her visitor finds whatever it is that she is looking for.

At the hospital, Ian and Eve continue to argue and Eve says: "If you think I COULD throw Amy off the roof, you don't know me,' and storms out. As Amy urges Ian to go after Eve, Ian told Amy that he is just glad she is alive. Amy laughs at that remark and then suggests to Ian that maybe they SHOULD go ahead and have an affair, since they appear to be taking the heat for it already.

As everyone settles in to bed, Ed visits each of his angels and tunes in on their dreams.

Casey dreams about a perfect wedding to Ricky.

Rafe dreams he is back with Alison for good and they are planning a regular life, with babies, growing old together, rocking chairs.

Ed reminds Paige that 'A dream is a wish your heart makes,' and sees that Paige is dreaming that, before she goes, Kevin told her he loves her and Lucy hands Christina over to Kevin and Paige and told them she is going to be getting out of their lives.

Christina says: 'God bless us all, every one.'

Amy dreams of being able to see and has a chance to actually 'see' Ian. They kiss passionately.

Ed says: 'Nothing has changed. Your dreams seem so romantic and sweet. But you can't fool me. I know that one of you is hiding a dark seed down deep in your soul. One of you is a Dark Angel, with a Dark Purpose. You've fooled everyone. If the people around you could only know what your real plan is! There is nothing I can do. As much as I'd like this to play out a different way, All I can do is watch and feel how much evil is lurking there in your hearts. Dark Angel. Dark Angel. Dark Angel. Dark Angel.' As Ed's naming of a Dark Angel echoes, each of the angels is suddenly startled awake.

At the hospital, Angel Boss Ed continues to speak to his sleeping angels:

ED: 'My angels. You all look so innocent, so angelic. But I know one of you is neither. One of you has a plan all your own as to who is to fill the Fifth Chair. One of you, it pains me to realize, is a Dark Angel. Someone will die because of you and there is not a damn thing I can do about it. EXCEPT HOPE that, with this new day, you WILL see the light and take the path that WAS meant for you BEFORE it is too late. Wake now, my angels, and remember nothing of my visit.'

All the angels wake from their sleep with a start.

In the morning, Paige informs Kevin that she is packed and ready to leave, but Christina says 'NO, Paige. Don't go.' When Paige explains that she is only going to go to a hotel, Christina brought Paige her favorite doll so that she won't be lonely. But Paige told Christina that they will be visiting soon - so Paige will not really be all alone. Then Paige gives Christina 'something you can keep forever' - a hankie that Paige embroidered herself.

At the hospital, Eve receives flowers with a note: "Meet me in the On-Call Room. We need to talk." Thinking the note is from Ian, Eve rushes to the on-call room, only to find Amy waiting there for her.

At Lucy's place, Rafe and Ali are going through some of Alison's old things, and when Rafe is amazed that her parents saved things like some of her awards and prizes from school, Alison sadly informs him that her parents were too busy to save all of these things - that Alison, herself, was the only one who thought about saving some of those things. Alison told Rafe about going up to her attic and talking to a portrait of one of her ancestors who was once a candlemaker. " had no friends," she observes, 'so I talked to a picture on the wall! How pathetic is that?'

At the on-call room, Eve is shocked by Amy's admission that, SHE was very attracted to Ian and that Ian knew about it and that they had the car accident BECAUSE Amy HAD lured Ian out on a pretended call. BUT, Amy insists - Ian told her that nothing could ever come of her infatuation. AND Amy continues, Amy is trying to open Eve's eyes to the brilliant gem Eve has in her husband and urges Eve to realize all that she has to be thankful for before some other woman scoops Ian up. As Eve begins to tell Amy that she realizes Ian is not a saint, Ian comes into the room and is angered by Eve's opinion of him. As Amy leaves, Eve and Ian argue about whether or not Ian should have told Eve that he KNEW about Amy's interest in him. Ian leaves, after telling Eve: 'Give me a reason to keep fighting for us!'

At the Scanlons', Casey is still looking at the Key around her neck and listening to old teen songs - including 'Teen Angel' - on the radio. Then, remembering Ricky's last words to her, she observes that she has had a second chance at life and it STILL sucks! Then she decides she needs someone to talk to but, as she starts to dial up Amy and Paige, she decides that the blind chick and the whiny Brit probably would NOT be able to understand her angst and decides instead to go see someone who WOULD be able to give her some good advice.

While Eve and Ian argue in the On-Call Room, Amy went up to the roof and speaks to her 'Papa:'

AMY: 'This is so hard, Papa. I know I failed you when you were alive. I'm trying to make you proud of me now. I love you so much. I miss you so much. I think about you all the time. I think about how safe I felt when I was held in your arms.'

As Amy finishes speaking, black-gloved hands suddenly appear around her, but when the wind blows, there is no one there!

At the Lighthouse, Paige's cab arrives, and she once again told Christina that she will see her again soon, and leaves. However, as soon as Paige leaves, Christina told Kevin that she does not feel good and suddenly passes out on Kevin's shoulder. In a panic, Kevin calls Lucy and told her to meet him at the hospital - something has happened to Christina!

At Lucy's place, Rafe and Ali are kissing and she decides they should stoke up the fire and put on some music. However, as Rafe turns up the fireplace, he realizes that something about the gas is not working, but before he can fix the gas, there is a knock at the door. It is Casey, who told Rafe that she has something important she needs to discuss with him right away. Rafe told Alison that he believes that if he does NOT take care of this now, Casey will not be giving them a moment's peace for a while, so Alison told him to go ahead. As Casey and Rafe leave, Casey lets Rafe know that she is shocked that Alison seems to be privy to so many angel 'secrets,' and observes: 'If your girlfriend does NOT keep her mouth shut, she might end up in the Fifth Chair herself.'

Inside, Alison lays down next to the fireplace, while the music plays: "Home? Would you walk with me home?" and the gas hisses ominously in the fireplace.
