Todd and Blair come face to face with the past as Marty Saybrooke arrives to pick up her son, Cole, at the police station. As the officer informs Marty that she had Cole take a drug test, Marty protests but it reminded that her son faces a list of charges and the drug test was necessary. Cole leaves with the officer to get the results of his test leaving Marty, Todd, Blair, and Starr alone in the room. Blair wonders if this was part of Marty's plan to get back at Todd by going after Starr. Marty insists that she did not know that Starr attended the same school as Cole. She tells them that after Patrick died she decided to move back to Llanview and checked to see if Starr was attending but was told that she was not registered there. When Todd wonders how much Cole knows about the past, Marty informs them that she has not told Cole and begs them to allow her to tell her son about their history. Cole steps back into the room and is told in front of his mother that steroids were found in his system. A disappointed Marty escorts Cole out but not before he tries to apologize to Starr for his behavior. After finding out from Cole that his assault against Starr was in the form of name calling and destroying a bedroom, Marty reveals that she is the woman who Todd Manning raped when they were in college.

Back at the penthouse Blair keeps Starr from running off into her room so that they can talk about the evening's events. Starr pulls away from Blair to ask Todd if he raped Marty. Todd admits that he did indeed rape Marty. Starr tells her mother that if Todd can admit what he did then why can't she. When Blair tries to calm Starr down, Starr tells them that she wants to be alone. She also tells them that being in the same room with the woman her father raped and knowing that she is Cole's mother makes everything worse. After Starr runs upstairs a distraught Todd wonders about the damage he has done.

Rex is torn as to what he should do now that he has found out that Michael and Marcie's adopted son, Tommy, is Todd's biological child. Adriana tries to help Rex figure out what to do. While they both agree that Michael and Marcie are great parents and would be devastated to find out the news of Tommy's parentage, Adriana feels that Todd has a right to know who his son is. Rex agrees and wonders if Todd would give up knowing that his son was being raised in a loving home but he knows that Todd would never relinquish custody to Marcie and Michael. Rex decides that only he and Adriana should ever know the truth but Adriana disagrees, saying that the truth is too big to keep even if the truth may cause pain to those involved. Michael and Marcie arrive with Tommy and ask Rex for an update on his search for Tommy's parents.

Dorian has a hard time getting used to the idea that Kelly has decided to move to London with Kevin and the baby. She reaches out to Clint as a friend who tells her that Kelly is the happiest she has been in months. Dorian wonders how Kelly and Kevin can really be happy after Kelly had a baby with Duke. Clint reminds her that although Kelly got pregnant after spending one night with Duke it is Kevin who she has truly had the baby with. Now that Kevin has gotten past the betrayal and anger from what happened, he is there for Kelly and Zane and wants to be a family with them. Dorian agrees that although she is not happy about the situation, she knows that she must let Kelly go and find her happiness even if it is with Kevin and out of Llanview. When a glowing Kelly comes out of Zane's hospital room, Dorian tells her that she is more confident than she has seen her in months and that although Dorian may have seemed harsh at times all she ever wanted was to protect the woman she thinks of as her daughter. Kelly is happy that Dorian has accepted her decision and they share a tearful goodbye.

Natalie and Vincent pull Bo aside during the recess from Spencer's arraignment to tell him that Hugh had brown eyes but the man who is lying in his hospital bed has blue eyes and they now believe that John is the man who survived the fiery crash. Bo has a hard time processing what they are saying and when Paige overhears them discussing John surviving the accident, he pulls her away. Bo explains that Natalie is having a hard time dealing with the loss of John and that she shouldn't worry about what Natalie said. Paige tells him that she believes that Vincent is a good man and that Bo shouldn't worry about their friendship since she has seen a side of him after observing him by Hugh's bedside day after day. John tells Natalie that he didn't have the heart to tell Paige that she may have lost her son after just finding him. He assures Natalie that once he has all the facts he will tell Paige the truth. Natalie vows to find out the truth for herself and heads straight to the hospital.

As Evangeline and Spencer's lawyer gear up for the battle ahead, Evangeline wonders if David is ready to testify against Spencer. After getting the go ahead from David, Evangeline vows to win the case for John.

Natalie runs into Viki at the hospital and shares with her the news that it is John who is lying in the hospital bed and not Hugh. Viki is stunned and worried not only about Natalie but about Paige who just found her son and about Spencer who could become capable of anything should he find out his son is dead.

David takes the stand in his brother's trial after being sworn in with his other right hand. Evangeline takes him back to the night of Thomas McBain's shooting. David revisits that night for the judge and jury. He identifies the gun that was in his possession that night and the twin gun that his father gave Spencer. Evangeline shows the ballistics report that shows that the gun David fired couldn't have killed Thomas McBain since it was loaded with blanks. She goes on to show that the bullet that entered McBain was fired from the twin gun that belonged to Spencer. On the cross examination, Spencer's lawyer tries to discredit David by showing that he is a liar, has multiple arrests under his belt, and is only testifying against Spencer because he wouldn't make David his power of attorney. Evangeline comes back and has David identify a photo of Spencer and their father holding the twin guns.

Cole is shocked by the news that his mother is the woman Todd raped and wonders why Todd is not still in prison. Marty explains that Todd proved that he could be a better person and that he was truly remorseful for what he did. Cole wonders if his mother truly believes that Todd has changed. Although Marty confesses that she believes that Todd is capable of hurting people in other ways, she does not believe that he would rape another woman. Cole asks Marty if she has truly forgiven Todd for what he did to her. Marty tells Cole that in order to move on with her life, marry the man she loved, and have his child, she had to forgive Todd. Marty believes that it was only through forgiveness that she and Todd were able to move on. Marty also believes that Cole must seek the same thing from Starr in order for them to start healing.

Blair tries to get Todd to talk to Starr about what is happening now with their family and Marty Saybrooke's. Blair believes that Todd has repented for the sins of his past and that Starr loves him and respects him as her hero and always will even if Todd can't see that. Todd isn't in the mood to get things off his chest which causes an infuriated Blair to kick him out. As Todd is leaving, Starr comes downstairs and wonders if her father is really leaving. When Blair is called away to testify against Spencer, Todd tries to strike up a conversation with Starr. At first Starr pulls away but then she confesses that although she is not afraid of her father, there are times when he appears to be somewhere else that can be troubling. She assures Todd that Cole did not rape her but that he frightened her when he was somewhere else. After talking with Starr, Todd decides to do what he must to protect his daughter. He goes down to the high school and demands that Cole be expelled from school. When the principal does not agree with Todd on how things should be handled, Todd issues a threat but is interrupted by Marty who warns Todd that if he goes after her family she will go after his.

Seeing how happy Tommy has made Michael and Marcie weighs on Rex's soul as he struggles with whether he should tell them the truth about what he has discovered. When Rex wonders about the real reason Michael and Marcie want to find out about Tommy's parents, they tell him that are not so much worried about his parent's wanting him back as they are concerned about his family history especially medically wise. Marcie goes on about how she can't believe how the courts can take away children parents who love them and give them back to biological parents who initially gave them up for some reason but now have changed their minds. When Michael and Marcie wonder if Rex has found Tommy's parents, Rex lies and says that he has yet to uncover the names. Adriana wonders why Rex didn't tell them and Rex tells her that he feels that he is caught in a bad situation and feels that taking the baby away from Michael and Marcie or Todd is going to be a disaster. Marcie returns to tell Rex that she is happy to finally see the soft side that Jen always boasted about and how grateful she is that Tommy has such a good person looking out for him as his Godfather.

Todd wants Cole expelled immediately, he demands of the school principal! Over my dead body, Marty responds. Todd threatens to kill Cole and the pair is off to the fights, with threats and reminders of the past. Marty assures Todd that Cole was affected by the steroids but is really a good boy and will never do drugs again. He wonders how she can be so sure when she didn't notice his taking them in the first place. She's been in a nightmare after the death of her husband and she remembers what happened with Todd every day of her life. Todd apologizes for every day that has gone by and for all the days of the future, but he won't let Cole off the hook. When the principal states that she alone cannot make the decision to expel the boy, Todd announces that he is pulling Starr out of the school. She's in danger there and can no longer attend.

Cole shows up at the penthouse to apologize to Starr face to face; she finally relents and opens the door to let him in. He feels that he owes her more than just an "I'm sorry" but doesn't know how to say it. He felt like he was a spectator, watching the entire thing from above, but didn't know how to stop it. He's really not that guy; it was the drugs. He knows he also said some very mean things but he felt pressured to be the big football star, which also meant that he would have sex after the game. He wanted to be the big hero and make his mom happy. He knows it was all wrong. Starr feels as though she too should apologize for what her father did to his mother. Cole is now unhappy that he found out about that and sorry that he made Starr feel even a little of what his own mother must have been feeling. As the two try to express their feelings, Todd returns home, sees Cole and goes crazy, roughly grabbing him away from Starr. She tries to stop him but he's beyond angry and tosses the boy out. She can't believe he's treating Cole so badly after what he himself did. He can't change things that happened in the past and has to protect her now, he responds. He forbids her to see Cole anymore and in fact has pulled her out of the school. She's inconsolable, especially since he's the one who raped someone.

Blair is sworn in to testify at Spencer's trial (after arriving late, having forgotten about it) and begins to recount how they met and how he pursued her. She faints though and the trial comes to a halt. She is helped by Michael and upon questioning, he learns that she feels that her brain tumor has returned. He suggests she come into the hospital for some tests. She won't allow him to call Todd because she doesn't want him to know. Spencer's attorney is pretty happy and won't even care if she drops dead, he says. An incensed Spencer grabs him, hurting him, and advises that he will always love Blair. Another witness is called instead and Blair will be recalled at a later time. The attorney steps out and is late returning which causes the judge to anger.

Rex and Adriana are at Rodi's and debate on how he should handle what he's learned and who to tell, if indeed he does. They decide to head back to his place to talk about it but run into Roxy on the way out. He's short with her though Adriana apologizes for him, citing that he's under a lot of pressure. She notes that it's hard to figure out what to do when you're a Balsom. Nash appears with Brennan and he and Roxy have a chat. She mentions that she's seen how he looks when Jess is around and she knows he loves her. He denies ever having any feelings for her; it's Tess he was in love with. She tells him it is time to move on.

Puerto Rico is the destination for the honeymooners. Jess has a slight problem when a man who at first glance, appears to be Nash, distracts her.

Adriana tries to play a game with Rex, based on the morals game they played previously with Roxy. Maybe he can convince Todd to let the McBains keep the baby.
