Nora and Lindsay both figure out Troy's clue to where the tape is that has Lindsay's confession (her giving Nora the drug that wiped out her memory). Nora went to Lindsay's gallery and found the tape, heard the confession and was about to leave when Lindsay came in. She asked Nora how she got in and Nora told her the door was open. Lindsay denies this. Lindsay asked Nora what she is doing there and Nora said she is looking for Troy; Lindsay asks Nora "where is it" and Nora replies, "where is what, Lindsay". Nora finally shows Lindsay the tape and they listen to the part where Lindsay confesses; Nora tells Lindsay that the tape will be played in court and that Lindsay will pay for what she did. Lindsay tries to lie her way out, saying what is on the tape is not the truth. The phone rings, it is R.J. and when Nora says "Troy, is that you?", R.J. hangs up. He was going to tell Lindsay he had not been able to find the tape. Lindsay had threatened him and Keri if he did not try to help her find it since he is the one who purchased the drug for Lindsay to give Nora (R.J. did not know at the time it was for Nora). Nora asks Lindsay again where Troy is. When Lindsay won't tell Nora the truth about where Troy is they begin to fight and then the tape is thrown across the room. They continue to struggle and Lindsay hits Nora on the head and knocks her out. Lindsay grabs the tape as Nora comes to and Nora chases after her. Nora stops Lindsay from leaving the gallery and when Lindsay continues to try to leave, Nora hits her and Lindsay falls to the floor unconscious. Nora gets the tape back.

Antonio has planned a special meal for Keri at Carlotta's diner (unbeknownst to Carlotta); when they arrive Keri remarks to Antonio that Carlotta will not like her coming there, just as Carlotta walks up with a displeased look on her face. Antonio tells Carlotta they have come for lunch; Carlotta reluctantly welcomes Keri. However when she takes their order she is rude to Keri and everything Keri tries to order Carlotta either says she won't like it or they don't have it; Antonio tells Carlotta to let Keri order what she wants. Carlotta is not pleased. While they are waiting for their food Antonio and Keri kiss; when Carlotta sees this she puts a huge portion of red hot pepper on Keri's food. When Keri tastes the food she begins to choke from the hot pepper. After Keri regains her composure, she confronts Carlotta – she tells her that no trick is going to keep her from Antonio and especially not putting a lot of hot pepper on her food. She gives her the plate to take back to the kitchen. Antonio agrees with her and Carlotta stomps off and is furious. Keri and Antonio talk about the things Keri said to Carlotta and Antonio tells Keri Carlotta will get over it or not. They leave the diner together.

Al has told Nat that he is tired of doing what she says – he stands up and they nearly kiss. Al is beginning to feel guilty about taking the money to make Seth look like a thief. Nat continues to badger Al about going through with the plan so she can get Seth back and he can keep Jen. Al tells Nat he knows Jen does not love him and he thinks he should let her know he can walk. Nat talks Al out of letting Jen know he can walk and tells Al that it is going around campus that he and Jen are getting married – that she thinks Jen really is crazy about Al (which is not true). Nat leaves thinking she has convinced Al to go along with her plan and Jen goes into the room where Al is. Al asks Jen if she has heard the rumor about their getting married and Jen laughs and says yes. Al then tells her they should make the rumor come true and get married. Jen is stunned.

Max tells Seth that the bank deposit was $1,000 short (Al rigged the deposit); Nat told him to do it; it is part of her plan to get Seth back. Max continues to question Seth about the shortage when Jess comes into Break Bar – she tells Seth and Max she knows he did not take the money. She told him to think about what was happening about that time and Seth remembers. Seth says he think Alison took the money that she was in there and nearly ran him over and that money scattered everywhere. In any case Max tells Seth he will be taking money out of his check until it is paid back. Seth and Jessica leave Break Bar and run into Nat. They tell her that Alison took a thousand dollars and they are going after her. Nat is distressed and says to herself "what am I going to do now"?

Sam goes to the fun house and discovers it is on fire, but does not see Troy; then he hears Troy calling out; he tells Sam that he is trapped and chained; the fire is getting worse and Sam is trying to find his way around the maze of rooms to get to Troy. When he finds Troy he has a flash back about Nora saying she has feelings about Troy and that she kissed him back at the grave yard. He comes to his senses and starts trying to free Troy, but the fire continues to get worse. Sam works to free Troy and asks him who did this to him and Troy tells him it was Lindsay – that it is long story. The fire rages on and Sam continues to try to free Troy; a beam falls and knocks Sam down. Troy is still confined and watches helpless at Sam on the floor.

Jen and Cris talk about her and Al. Cris says it is okay if she marries Al and Jen tells Cris it is just a rumor that she is not going to marry Al; that she still feels guilty about his accident and Cris tells her again that it was his fault and not hers. Cris leaves and Nat is very pleased – she thinks her plan is working.

At the college, Shawna talks to Rae about the consequences of a college professor seeing one of their students (she is talking about Antonio and Keri). She tells Rae that this professor that gave this student good grades and now is doing the same for his brother. Shawna is mad because she got a bad grade in Keri's class. Shawna plans to get back at her for doing this to her. R.J. is there and is overhearing the conversation. Rae tells Shawna she had better have proof if she is going to accuse Keri of being with Antonio while he was her student and that she could find herself in court in the midst of a slander suit. When Rae leaves R.J. (who has heard everything) asks Shawna if he can buy her a cup of coffee – Shawna is very puzzled but knowing R.J. he surely has a plan to protect Keri.

Fighting over the tape, Nora knocks Lindsay out with a right hook. As Nora attempts to reach Bo on the phone, Lindsay awakens and manages to snatch the tape from Nora's hand. She tosses it into the trash compactor, telling Nora that it's all over, the tape is gone. Nora takes off for the compactor room and jumps into the trash heap, getting hit by falling trash bags as she digs through the mounting garbage. Lindsay follows but as she too jumps in, the door slams shut behind her. The pair frantically search for the tape, find it and make a dive for it. Alas, it's not the one they're looking for. Nora tells Lindsay that she doesn't want to let Troy down but Lindsay advises her that it won't matter. Suddenly they hear a noise and realize that the compactor has gone on.

Bo sits down at the diner and spies Gabrielle, sitting alone nearby. He accuses her of following him and though she denies it at first, she admits to it soon after. She was used to eating dinner with him and chatting so she missed that and was looking for a friend, she tells him. Bo hastily reminds her that they are not friends. Cris wanders in looking distraught and Carlotta quickly determines that it's because of Jen. She thinks that Cris needs to fight for her. Bo stops by to say hi and tells Cris he ought to apply at the police department for a job. Cris doesn't think that's such a good idea since his involvement with the police cost him Jen. Gabrielle interrupts and suggests that he work harder at forgetting Jen. She then begins to lecture him about not interfering with Jen and Al but Cris refuses to listen, mentioning that he already heard it from Max. Bo then accuses Gabrielle of interfering because he and Cris were talking about the future; she should worry about her own life and stop trying to protect Al from everything. She apologizes and goes back to sit down with Bo, Cris stalks off to be alone. They talk about their sons which leads Gabby to ask Bo if he's becoming a friend. He thinks that's a maybe. He inquires about her work at the paper and wonders why Todd is pretty much letting her write what she wants because it's not like him. Gabby tries to change the subject.

Al and Jen have a chat in an empty classroom. Al asks Jen to marry him and make true the rumor that's going around. He wants to know what Jen means by sticking around for the long haul though he realizes he should probably just enjoy the moment with her. Jen sings his praises but he credits her. She says she loves him and when Al reveals his love for her, she clarifies that she loves him as a best friend. She promises not to leave and again he asks her to marry him.

As Viki and Ben share an intimate moment, the doorbell rings. It's Blair and Todd with the baby and they want some advice on how to handle Starr. They explain what's been going on with the poisonous spider and the man on the wheel. Ben wonders if Starr's story could possibly be true but the Mannings assure him it's not. Viki pulls Blair aside for a chat, telling her a tale about Joey and Kevin when they were small. She advises the younger woman that they need to reassure Starr of their love and give her lots of attention. She's doing the same with Natalie and Jess, she explains. Blair wonders aloud how a woman could not know her own child (referring to Natalie). Viki agrees and suddenly feels strange. She becomes consumed by that thought. Todd and Ben discuss therapy for Starr but Todd is against it. He tells Ben that Sam is being nosy but Ben figures that Sam must have good reason. After the Mannings leave, Ben finds Viki asleep on the sofa. He covers her up and closes the door. She's having bad dreams, hearing Blair's voice, " How could a mother not know her own baby?" She awakens abruptly, only to see Niki.

Sam lies unconscious on the floor having been struck by a falling beam and surrounded by flames. Troy urges him to get up and he stirs but is unable to, he's pinned by the beam. They both strain to reach the nearby crowbar and finally Troy is able to grab it and at last free himself from the wheel. He manages to lift the beam enough for Sam to crawl out. Eventually, they make it outside and gasp for breath. Troy tells Sam that they need to get to Lindsay's because Nora is in trouble. They get to the gallery where Troy realizes that someone has found the tape.

The Mannings stop at the diner on the way home and see Gabrielle and Bo sitting together. They are uneasy and wonder what they could be talking about. Blair urges her husband to check it out so he saunters over. He tells Gabrielle he has a story for her that she must pursue at the mall but Gabby announces that she's eating. He goes back to Blair but Bo is busy watching him. He refers back to the mystery of Gabby working for Todd.

As Al talks about his love for Jen she remembers Cris' proposal. She can't accept Al's proposal now but she promises to think about it. Cris arrives at the classroom door in time to overhear.

Troy fills Sam in on the tape as down below the women ponder their fate. There doesn't seem to be any way out as the compacting begins.
