At the penthouse, Todd tells Blair that he is taking Starr on an extended vacation, but Blair threatens to come after them. Starr resists leaving town without Blair, and Todd relents. Later, he calls The Sun with plans for a public attack on Blair.

Max contacts Nora about obtaining sole custody of his child. Blair enters the mansion and overhears, then faints. When she awakens, she and Max argue over the baby and their own history. Blair storms out, and Max begins to reconsider his harsh position.

Asa surprises ex-wife Alex at a sleazy club. She claims to be a successful performer, but is revealed to be an exotic dancer instead. She begs Asa to take her back; Asa proposes marriage.

At the gallery, Jessica asks Will about the things he is keeping from her; he tells her that he wants to protect her by not making her an accomplice in what he knows.

Melanie arrives at the LPD to provide a hair sample for Bo, and alludes to things that she has not told him, things that might change his feelings for her.

Outside Bo's office, Lindsay and Nora fight after Nora pulls out some of Lindsay's hair. Lindsay refuses Bo's requests for samples from her and Jen, but must submit when Hank produces a court order. Afterward, a diversion in the squad room allows her time alone with the samples; Bo and Nora accuse her of tampering with them. Back at her gallery, she tells Jen to keep quiet about Colin for her own good.

Alex tells Asa that she is sure there is another reason besides his libido for him asking to marry her. He admits there are a lot of people he wants to get revenge on, and their marriage would irritate quite a few on that list. Of course, Asa explains, he would want Alex to sign a prenup, but Alex objects. She is tired of being used by men and left with nothing. She will only agree to marry Asa if she is sufficiently taken care of later on. Asa reluctantly agrees to set her up financially, so she agrees to marry him. The two leave the club together...

Jess and Will get ready for his mother's gallery showing. Jen starts in on him about what he is hiding from her. He promises to tell her everything after the party. When her zipper breaks, she stays behind to get dressed. Will doesn't want to keep Lindsay waiting so he leaves without her. Ben shows up and expresses to Jess how concerned he is about Viki. Earlier, Ben went to Viki's office and discovered there was nothing on her calendar, and that she hasn't read her email in a month. Jess tells Ben she doesn't trust Gina, and thinks it was weird that she came over and asked her all about Viki's DID. Meanwhile, Gina taunts Viki by reminding her that she is trapped and will never get out of that basement. When Viki reaches her breaking point, Niki emerges. "Just the woman I wanted to talk to!" Gina replies. Gina convinces Niki to pose as Viki to break up with Ben. Niki is excited at the idea of messing with Viki, so she agrees. However, when Niki hears Ben's voice over the phone he calls out, "Blondie, Blondie!" and Viki reemerges. Gina snatches the phone away before a confused Viki can say anything. Upset and pushed to desperation, Tommy emerges and lunges at Gina!

At the gallery, Lindsay tries to separate Jen and Cris. Lindsay doesn't appreciate Jen sneaking to display one of Cristian's pieces, but Jen loves it. Lindsay drags Jen off and grabs a duffle bag. They head towards the exit, but Antonio is there to stop them. He informs them that Bo has ordered that no one leaves town. Later, Will unsuccessfully tries to convince Jen to get out of town before there is a major explosion. Kelly, pretending to be covering the gallery, eavesdrops on their conversation. Lanie shows up and tells Lindsay it is time for her to reveal everything before it is too late. Lanie says to Lindsay that they both know how Bo's investigation is going to turn out...

At the station, Nora goes on and on about her hatred for Lindsay and how she would prosecute her. Bo is only half listening. Nora is surprised when she realizes that he is worried that it will be Lanie's hair that was found under Colin's fingernails. Nora is adamant that Lindsay is guilty, and that forensics will prove it. After Nora leaves, Hank walks in with the test results! Nora head over to Colin's and has a vivid flashback of being trapped there. She remembers her attempts to write Lanie a letter begging for help and sending it out with the divorce papers. Nora is shocked when Sam shows up...

May 9, 2001

Bo stares at the envelope containing the returned hair sample results. When Hank tries to move him along he states that the person may have struggled with Colin but is not necessarily the killer. They both check out the results, learn who the match is and then depart for Lindsay's party.

At Lindsay's art showing, Cris and Jen try to leave to get some air but are deterred by Antonio. After Cris challenges him and his showing of power, Antonio bends and tells them they have fifteen minutes. Lanie wants Lindsay to know the truth and tells her their lives will change when that truth gets out. Lindsay only wants her sister to remain silent. Kelly wanders over to Will and asks about Jess (who is late) and wonders why he appears distant. He's worried about someone he loves being responsible for Colin's death, he tells her, but when Kelly tries to probe for her story he shuts down. He defends his sister though and relays that Colin got what he deserved. Antonio teases Kelly about not finding anyone to talk to her and they confront each other on being dateless. Jen and Cris wander down to the docks where he reassures her that he's not angry at her for hanging his drawing at the art showing. When she presses him on his artwork he relates that his hand will no longer allow him the ability to do any of it and tells her about the night he suffered his injury. He also confirms that he no longer has any feelings for Jessica though he did love her very much, he is tired of his dispute with Will and he cares for Jen. Back at the art gallery, Lindsay and Lanie head off to the bedroom to chat though Lanie wants Will to come along and Lindsay is against it.

Nora wanders around Colin's house having flashbacks, until she is surprised to run into Sam. Her memories were jogged until he showed up, she tells him. When she sees his ring though, it brings on another memory of Colin holding her hostage on the night he was killed. She relays her memory to Sam and how Colin was interrupted by the doorbell. She's certain it couldn't have been Lanie at the door because she's sure that Lindsay is the killer unless it was Lanie who actually may have walked in and seen Lindsay committing the murder. Sam can't believe it when Nora insists she doesn't need any proof and he accuses her of just trying to make it be Lindsay. When a funny look appears on his face, Nora thinks that Sam is hiding something but he says he just can't believe that the mother of his children would do such a thing. When he walked in that night Nora was alone in the house and he was there merely looking for her.

Ben wants details of Jessica's conversation with Gina after she tells him that Gina's cousin has DID. Jess doesn't trust her at all because she knows Gina is after Ben but Ben assures her he only loves Viki. He also asks Jess if it's ok that he think of her as a daughter and Jess wholeheartedly approves.

"Tommy" tries to kill Gina but "Jean" intercedes and saves her. She assures Gina that she can get her what she wants and though she has no emotions, she can impersonate Viki perfectly, even though Gina thinks that "Niki" would be better at it because at least she can show some warmth. "Jean" doesn't want Gina to kill Viki and hence, all of the others so she demonstrates how effective she is by calling Jess and pretending to be Viki checking in. Ben is anxious to speak with Viki when he learns that she's on the phone, but she refuses to answer him and hangs up. "Jean" assures Gina that she is the controller and gate keeper of all of the alters, has no feelings for Viki's family and has no problem asking Ben for a divorce-she doesn't want to be married to anyone anyway.

R.J. grabs Roseanne and accuses her of betraying him by leading the cops right to him. After speaking with her he realizes that he was set up by Sophia who must know that Roseanne is the snitch. Roseanne denies that Sophia knows anything and even if she did she wouldn't tell anyone and hasn't. Sophia is out of town somewhere now, she tells R.J. R.J. thinks maybe he should spill all to Antonio but Roseanne begs him not to. She also thinks that even if Sophia did say something, who would believe her?

Bo and Hank arrive at Lindsay's place and first demand that everyone not involved get out-including a protesting Kelly who is carried off by Antonio. He announces that he's found the match.

Max's office-Max gets a message from Asa telling him to come to the Palace, and that Asa has a surprise for him.

Palace Restaurant-Blair arrives with an anonymous note from someone saying they can help her with her case, and finds Todd there. People around her, as well as Todd are laughing about a degrading picture Todd put in the Sun of Blair. Blair becomes hysterical and tears up the paper and throws it at Todd. Max comes up behind her, and takes her to a table, convincing her that it is wrong to give Todd exactly the reaction he wants. They talk about the baby, and Max asks how Blair is doing. Max then tells Blair he feels guilty about not seeing his other kids and that he wants to be a good father this time. He then tells an incredulous Blair that he wants to team up against Todd by saying it was a man, not Blair that shot him. Blair then goes over and gloats to Todd how she is free, and Todd says,"We'll see about that!" Blair leaves, and we then see Max with Renee, and Max asks her what's wrong. Renee begins to tell him that Asa's getting married, but doesn't yet tell Max who the bride is.

Alex's hotel room-Alex is anxious to drive around Llanview and tell the world about she and Asa's upcoming marriage, but Asa won't let her. Asa mentions that Max is downstairs waiting for him, and Alex becomes upset. She questions Asa's motives for marrying her, but Asa assures her it's because he wants her. Renee then bursts in and is very upset to see Alex. Renee becomes furious when she learns of the wedding plans, and reminds Asa of all Alex has done. Asa then begins to remind Renee of her sins (keeping Max's secret, etc.) and tells her to butt out. Renee then asks if he's doing it to hurt her, because it is he who will hurt most. Renee leaves, and Alex and Asa discuss her dislike for the wedding dress and veil. Alex then says they're going to get back at everyone, especially Max.

Nora's house-Sam, Nora, and Matthew are together and Nora again laments her lost memory. She says she wishes Colin had lived so she could get back her memories and nail Lindsay. Sam then says he can help with some of their memories and begins to tell her about the first time he saw her in Llanview. Sam then asks Nora how she feels about him now. Nora tells Sam he's a dear friend , but that she knows Sam wants more. Sam says he is grateful to have her in his life, to which Nora says she knows their love is still there just beyond her reach. Nora then asks Sam how he feels about her and Sam says she's the same person he's always cared about. Sam gets ready to leave and Nora thanks him for being there. They then agree to make new memories together.

Lindsay's gallery-Lanie asks if her hair matched the hair on Colin, and Bo says yes. R.J. begins to gloat, and Lindsay advises Lanie to be quiet until she gets a lawyer. Jess comes in and asks what's going on, and Will and Jenn fill her in but say that Lanie can't be the killer. Bo begins to defend Lanie against R.J.'s goading, and Lanie tells Bo to stop protecting her and runs to Lindsay's bedroom. Jess then asks Will if he knew about this and was covering for Lanie, to which Will and Jenn vehemently say that Lanie could not be the killer. Lindsay, however, points out that Lanie has been acting strange. Bo then goes to Lanie and she tries to talk to him about Colin, but Bo advises her not to talk without a lawyer. He tells her that they will be together no matter what, then Lindsay walks in. Bo gets very upset and tells her to leave. Meanwhile, Jess asks Will who he thought the killer was, and Will just apologizes for dragging her into the whole thing and tells her things can't ever be the same for them again. Also, Jenn tells Cris that Lanie can't be the killer, to which Cris says R.J. and someone else must've done it. Cris comforts Jenn, then Bo and Lanie come into the room with Lanie looking frightened. Bo tells them all he is taking Lanie to the station for questioning, and Will becomes upset. R.J. continues to goad Bo and say that Bo will probably arrest him for the murder. They begin to argue, and Lanie obviously can't take it anymore. She blurts out,"OK! I DID IT! I KILLED COLIN!"

Lindsay's Gallery

Melanie says she killed Colin and tells Bo to arrest her.

OLTL is interrupted by an ABC Special News Report

Palace Hotel Bar (I think)

Programming returns with Kelly and Antonio discussing Sophia. Kelly tries to tell Antonio what Sophia wanted to tell him about Roseanne.

Lindsay's Gallery

R.J. rants and raves that Bo should arrest Melanie. Melanie again says she killed Colin and that she does not want a lawyer, she just wants to tell the whole story. Bo and Hank take Melanie down to the station for questioning. Jen is furious with her mother for not defending Aunt Lanie and runs out with Cristian right behind her. Will takes Jessie to look for Sam. R.J. tells Lindsay that they have something to settle.

Palace Hotel

Renee tells Max that Asa is going to marry Alex. Andrew tries to talk Asa out of marrying so suddenly, but Asa refuses to be dissuaded. With Nigel acting as his best man, Asa starts the ceremony and a woman in a heavily veiled wedding gown walks down the aisle.

Sam's House

Cristian tells Jen that Melanie probably killed Colin in self-defense and that she would not go to prison for that. Jen tells Cristian that he does not understand. Will and Jess walk in. Jesse says she doesn't feel so bad about lying about finding Colin's body since they were protecting Lanie. Cristian says that everything will be over soon and Jesse says maybe things will get back to normal but Jen says that nothing will ever be normal again.

Lindsay's Gallery

R.J. tells Lindsay that she is never to ask him for anything again. Lindsay says that she won't because she is a different person. R.J. laughs in her face. R.J. warns Lindsay that if she ever tells anyone that he was the one who got her the memory-erasing drug, he would expose her to everyone. Lindsay says that as far as she is concerned, none of that ever happened. Lindsay says they are lucky that Colin is gone, but R.J. says that some might say that Lindsay killed Colin and that it was hard to believe that someone as good and pure as Melanie could murder anyone.

Llanview P. D.

While Melanie waits in Bo's office, Hank tells Bo that the interrogation has to be by the book. Bo assures him that it will be and that he can handle it. Hank says he will wait by the door just to be sure. (Now, come on folks, no D. A. in the world is going to let the fiancée of confessed murder conduct the interrogation alone.) Bo goes into his office and gets ready to question Melanie. He turns on a recorder and states his name, who he is questioning and why. He then states that no one else is present, then he again asks Melanie if she is waiving her right to have an attorney present. When she says yes again, Bo is very disappointed. He asks Melanie if she is prepared to tell him the truth and Melanie tells him that she is finally ready to tell him the truth and that until now she has been lying to him over and over again. Bo shakes his head and looks as if he can't believe what she is saying. Bo tells her to tell him what happened the night that Colin died.

Melanie's Story:

Melanie had a bad feeling that Colin was going to do something bad to Nora. She tried to call Nora, but no one answered the phone. She went over to Nora's and found the front door wide open. She walked in calling for Nora and found Nora's purse lying in the floor and determined that Nora was not there. She went over to Colin's house. When Colin opened the front door, Melanie marched in and headed upstairs to find Nora, but Colin grabbed her and threw her into the living room, knocking over the coffee table. Lanie got right in his face as if she was not afraid, and asked him where Nora is. Colin started walking into her, forcing her back against the fireplace. He threatened to tell Bo and Lindsay that Lanie killed her father. Lanie grabbed the poker from the andirons and shoved it toward Colin. She ran for the stairs and Colin chased her. A struggle ensued and Colin grabbed Lanie's hair and started to hit her. Lanie swung the poker around and hit Colin. She then dropped the poker and ran.

Lanie asks Bo what the autopsy states as the time of death and what the probable cause was. Bo tells her the estimated time of death is just about the time she was there and the cause was a blow to the head. Lanie breaks down, saying she really did kill Colin.

Lindsay's Gallery

In talking with R.J. about the various people that Colin had information on, Lindsay remembers that Colin had something on Lanie that even Bo didn't know and that he was blackmailing her. R.J. asks her what kind of secret Colin could have had on Melanie that would have made her kill Colin. Lindsay rushes out, apparently on her way to the police station. R.J., being facetious, says to himself that he can see that Lindsay is a completely "different person" (that she said she was).

Palace Hotel Bar

While discussing how badly Antonio wants to nail R.J., Kelly gets Antonio to admit that there is a leak at the police station. He asks Kelly if Sophia told her who the mole was and Kelly tells him she had a very good idea, but did not have enough to prove it. Just as Antonio asks Kelly if Sophia gave her a name, Roseanne walks up. Antonio tells her he is still on duty and Kelly says he is babysitting her. Antonio's phone rings and he walks away to answer it, leaving Kelly and Roseanne alone. Kelly starts a conversation with Roseanne and mentions that Antonio had said there was a leak at the station. Roseanne says they are not sure that is the case. Just as Antonio comes back, Kelly tells Roseanne that she has a message for her from Sophia and tells Antonio that she thinks he will want to hear it.

Palace Hotel Chapel

Asa slips a wedding ring onto the bride's finger and is about to lift the veil (Ten bucks says it is Gabrielle under that veil) when Max rushes in to stop the wedding. Asa tells him he is too late. Max warns Asa that Alex will hurt him and reminds Asa that she took $30 million from him. Asa says that what Max took was much worse and that Max would pay for it.

Palace Hotel Bar

Kelly says that Sophia wanted Roseanne to know that they had some unfinished business, but she did not say what it was. Roseanne covers quickly by saying that Sophia wanted her to file some cases Sophia could not finish. Antonio tells them that the situation at Lindsay's Gallery is over. He assures Kelly that she will find out how it was resolved soon enough and Kelly tells him she will be sure to tell him when Sophia calls again.

Sam's House

The four young people are discussing Melanie and how everything will soon return to normal. Jessie says she wants to go home, but Will says he wants to stay until Sam arrives. Jen tells Cristian to go and he offers Jessie a ride, leaving Will and Jen alone. Jen asks Will if it is really over.

Llanview P. D.

Lanie tells Bo that she ran from Colin's house and went to the police station to tell him that she had killed Colin, but he had gone to rescue Nora and came back and said that Colin wasn't there, so Melanie figured she hadn't really killed him. The light bulb goes on in Bo's face as he realizes that Melanie didn't move Colin's body. (For the record) he asks Lanie if she moved Colin's body to the woods, but she says she doesn't know how it got there. Lanie tells Bo she didn't tell him everything because she was afraid she would lose him, but that she had already lost him by not telling him about her father. Lindsay walks in and tells Lanie she would like to know about their father too.

Outside Sam's House

Jessie asks Cristian if he thinks Jen and Will knew all along that it was Melanie who killed Colin. Cristian tells her to ask Will and asks if they don't tell each other everything.

Sam's House

Jen goes to bed, leaving Will to wait for Sam. Will takes Colin's passport (with the name R. Butler on it) out of his suit pocket.

Palace Hotel Chapel

Max is ranting at Asa and his bride and gets angry because the bride won't say anything. He yanks the veil off and (I was right!) it is Gabrielle.
