Outside, Shayne runs into Nico. Shayne gives Nico the dance tickets. He is surprised but wonders who he would take to the dance. Shayne tells him that he will be taking Marina. Nico declines Shayne's offer. He tells Shayne that Marina is his girl and they should go together. Shayne tells him that Marina likes to dance, and he can't dance with her. Nico doesn't think that Marina would want to go with him anyway and tells Shayne to forget about it. Shayne tells Nico about the conversation he overheard the other day about her wanting a normal night out and once again requests that Nico do this for him as a favor.

Marina returns to the museum to find Shayne gone. He left a note for her saying that he would be back later; he went for a stroll. Meanwhile, Marina gets a visit from Carrie, the mysterious woman who keeps popping up on Fifth Street. Carrie gets personal with Marina and asks her what her wishes and dreams are. Marina tells her that she used to want money, but once she got it, she didn't want it. It didn't fix problems in life the way she thought it would and claims that she doesn't have any dreams left. Carrie asks her what she would wish for if she could have anything she wanted. She tells her that she wants Shayne to walk again. Carrie finds it strange that she would wish something for someone else. Marina explains that Shayne would make a wish for her if he had one too. She turns her back towards Carrie as she explains the night he would walk again. When she turns around again, Carrie is gone.

Marina begins to clean up around the house. Nico shows up and tells Marina that he would like to go to the school dance and asks Marina to go with him. Without even a thought, she tells him no. Nico tells her that it wouldn't be a date. She thinks that Shayne would feel abandoned if she went to the dance with another person. Marina gets upset by the pressure Nico is putting her under, and she starts to leave the room. Nico stops her and tells her that this wasn't his idea; it was Shayne's idea.

Gus runs into Eden at Company. He wants to invite her to Thanksgiving at Harley's house. She talks to Gus about how differently they were raised compared to the people they are involved with and wonders if that sometimes gets in the way. Gus starts to talk about his relationship with Harley and how they handle their differences. Eden wants to cut the conversation short when she begins to remember the night on the rooftop with Tony. Bill comes back to the table as Gus is leaving. Eden tells Gus that she and Bill have plans for Thanksgiving.

Jeffrey is at Olivia's bar and appears to have had a bit too much to drink. He claims that the women in his life are driving him crazy. Moments later, Josh joins him and says that misery loves company. Josh thanks Jeffrey for giving Marah a ride home the other day after the dinner party. He informs Jeffrey that before that night, he never really cared for him, but now appreciates him and thanks him again. Josh then asks Jeffrey to explain about what he meant about the women in his life that are driving him crazy. Josh knows that he and Beth are through and wonders who the new woman is. It doesn't take Josh too long before he is caught up with Jeffrey on the alcohol intake. Josh starts to talk about Billy wanting to set him up with someone half his age. Josh mentions that he thinks it is incomprehensible while Jeffrey begins to choke.

Sandy has a talk with Marah about her relationship with Jeffrey. She doesn't want to hear it and tells him to stay out of her business. She doesn't want to be judged and attacked by someone who treated her badly. Sandy claims that he just doesn't want to see her get hurt anymore. He reminds her of Jeffrey's poor reputation and age. Marah tells him that life is a risk and doesn't feel that anyone could hurt her more than he already has. He thinks that her relationship with Jeffrey is a knee-jerk reaction. Marah tells Sandy that this has nothing to do with him. Jeffrey thinks she is smart, interesting, talented, capable, and he has a good time with her and thinks she is special. Sandy tells her that he feels the same way about her. He thinks she is setting herself up for a major fall. She thinks that Sandy is jealous and wants Sandy to tell her that he is wrong. When Sandy doesn't respond, Marah runs out telling him that this is sick.

Moments later, a drunken Josh shows up at work to find Sandy working late. Sandy thinks that due to Josh's condition, they should make a fresh start in the morning. It doesn't take long before Josh falls asleep at his desk. Sandy covers him up and leaves.

Jeffrey goes up to his room and starts to undress for bed. Moments later, he gets a knock at the door. Marah wants to come in and tells Jeffrey that she wants to be with him.

Reva begins planning for her family Thanksgiving dinner and starts to discuss her plans with Cassie. Harley rushes in and wants some pointers on cooking. She told Buzz that she would handle the Cooper dinner this year forgetting that she doesn't know how to cook. Cassie and Reva begin to tell her how to cook a turkey, but they both have different ideas as to how to cook it. Harley gets a bit confused and tells them that she needs to rethink about having her dad cook the turkey this year. After Harley leaves, Cassie tells Reva that she won't be coming over for Thanksgiving this year, because she is having a dinner at her place. Cassie tells her that she understands why she didn't want Edmund to come over for the last dinner and explains that she and Edmund have worked very hard to get where they are right now. She wants to have a Thanksgiving dinner at her home with Edmund. Reva decides to invite Edmund, but Cassie explains that she would like to start a new tradition with her children and Edmund. It seems important to her, so Reva gives it and doesn't fight it.

Marah shows up at Jeffrey's room looking for someone to talk to. Once she is in his room, she begins looking around. Jeffrey grabs her by the arm and tells her that his room is not a museum; then questions what she is doing there in the first place. Marah tells him that she is getting tired of being rejected over and over again - and all in one week. She wants to know why it keeps getting to her and wants help on controlling her emotions. Jeffrey tells her that it is because she is a caring, gentle person. Jeffrey tells her that she needs to create compartments to store her feelings and tells her that he would teach her how to do that. Jeffrey proceeds to ask her what she is doing tomorrow. She explains Thanksgiving with her family. Jeffrey then talks about what he has to do for Thanksgiving. He tells her that he will do whatever he wants to do because he is a free man. Marah tells him that he talks a good game, but he is a really bad liar. Marah tells him that if he stops feeling pain, then he also stops feeling love. Jeffrey tells her that is sad and requests that she leave. Marah tells him that he has feelings for her or he would not have let her in. He explains that he let her in because he was intoxicated. Marah grabs her coat and leaves. Jeffrey tries to get back to work but seems completely distracted. As Marah is leaving, Cassie sees her walking out of Jeffrey's room. Cassie stops her and wants to know what is going on between her and Jeffrey. Marah tells her that her relationship between her and Jeffrey is none of her business. Cassie continues to pressure her and calls Jeffrey a cradle robber. Marah tells him that Jeffrey hasn't done anything to her, she is the one trying to come after him. She tells Cassie that lucky for her, he was a complete gentleman. Marah gets upset when she learns that Cassie told Jeffrey to stay away from her and wonders what Jeffrey ever did to her except having the unfortunate luck as to looking like Richard.

Harley shows up at Company to speak with Buzz. She tells Buzz that she'll stay there and clean the restaurant while he goes home to cook. Buzz thought she was excited about hosting the dinner this year. She begins to explain her visit with Reva and Cassie. She shows him her notes about how to cook a turkey. Buzz takes her notes and makes some adjustments. Harley takes them back and tells Buzz that she'll figure it out. Buzz tells Harley that he invited Alexandra to Thanksgiving and promises that she'll be on her best behavior. She takes a moment to call Gus because her turnkey is being delivered today. Gus tells her that it is there and requests that she try to come home. Moments later, Reva shows up looking for Marah. She needs an emergency sewing job completed. Jeffrey walks in and Reva grabs his attention wondering whether he has seen Marah. Before answering, he asks why she needs Marah. After she explains that she needs some feathers sewn on a turkey outfit, Jeffrey tells her that he can make her tail feathers stand up. Jeffrey gets a stapler and staples the outfit back together. Reva mentions how impressed she is, and Jeffrey admits that he isn't even sober. As Jeffrey is leaving, Cassie calls Reva and wants to talk to her about Marah and Jeffrey.

Back at Harley's, Gus tries to prepare her before showing her the turkey. She instantly guesses that it is too small or too big. Gus tells her that it is alive. When she sees the turkey, she finds that her children have already named the turkey, "Harriet."

Marina and Nico continue their conversation in regards to the dance. Nico tells her that Shayne overheard through the walkie-talkies she bought. Nico tells her that Shayne just wants to do something nice for her and continues to tell her that Shayne wouldn't let him off the hook until he said yes. He tells Marina not to deny Shayne this wish. Moments later, Shayne shows up in total exhaustion. He overworked himself in his session today. Marina hands him a water bottle thinking that he may be dehydrated. He knocks the water bottle on the floor. Marina requests that everyone leave the room because she and Shayne need to have a talk. Marina reminds Shayne what the doctors said about his recovery taking some time. She then tells Shayne that she knows about him trying to convince Nico to take her to the dance. She tells Shayne that she would have more fun with him at home then dancing without him. Shayne tells her that she is too okay with him the way he is and tells her that he needs people around him that want him to fight to recover. Once Marina leaves the room, she tells Nico that she will go to the dance with him. She tells him that she will drive and they are only staying for an hour.

Danny and Michelle are busy with Thanksgiving preparations; Tony shows up and Eden and Bill appear shortly thereafter. Awkwardness ensues between Tony and Eden. Michelle quizzes Eden about what happened to Tony and Marah's relationship but Eden feigns ignorance. Later, Eden and Tony share a close moment. After the rest of the guests arrive (the Boudreaux family, Mel, Rick, and Ed), Danny announces his intention to run for mayor.

Marah is helping Reva with Thanksgiving preparations. Marah notes the place set for Sandy and asks Reva if she can invite someone; Reva is shocked that it's Jeffrey. The two then spar and Marah ends up leaving. Reva's upset but Josh's arrival lifts her spirits somewhat and when Sandy drops by and agrees to stay her spirits are back on top.

Cassie and Edmund are outside Company - she's checking on her Thanksgiving reservations, and Edmund's surprised she and the kids aren't going to Reva's. Cassie says she wants to spend the day with him but he announces he's catching a plane to San Cristobel and that she should be with her family. She talks him into staying and eloquently lists all the reasons why she's thankful he's in her and her kids' lives. Edmund later invites a solo Jeffrey to dine with them. Cassie is perturbed but RJ, who has toddled in with Tammy, is happy. After RJ's parade, the group goes back to Company and Jeffrey ducks out to make a mysterious call - he states that everything's in place and to get the safe house ready. Marah shows up at Company fresh from her fight with Reva and asks if she can join Cassie/Edmund's group, not knowing that Jeffrey is also dining with them.

Harley is fussing with the turkey when she has a visitation from Nadine. Through talking with Nadine, Harley analyzes why she's putting herself through the torture of cooking dinner when she's an unskilled cook. She realizes it's to be closer to her family after her near-death experience. Buzz reminisces with Frank about Nadine and her lack of cooking skills. Buzz accurately guesses why Harley is going through all the trouble - to be closer to her family. Gus and Alan show up and the group (including Darci) head over to Harley's for dinner. Alan updates Gus on Phillip's condition - he's in the hospital and having tests. Alexandra shows up, and after much anxiety on Harley's part, her first Thanksgiving dinner turns out beautifully.

As Danny makes a Thanksgiving speech, we get a glimpse of all the families at dinner. As he speaks about family, love, and doing things for others you never thought possible, we see all that goodwill reigns, at least momentarily, for the volatile Springfield residents.
