Florence came to town to check on her daughter Gia after she had dropped out of school and moved away. Florence's son, Taggert, also lived in Port Charles and works as a police officer. Florence was overbearing and protective of Gia and didn't approve of her living with Nikolas. She kept pressuring Gia to return to school but Gia resisted and became the Face of Deception for Deception Cosmetics. Florence decided to move to Port Charles to be near her children and got a job at General Hospital as an administrator.
