Luke is overjoyed when he approaches Lucky's hospital room, and hears his son's voice. He rushes to kiss Lucky, and Skye happily looks on as Luke and his son bond. Things quickly sour when Luke begins to tell Lucky that he knew he'd be able to pull through on his own. Despite Skye's attempts to get him to stop, Luke confesses to a horrified Lucky that he shut off his breathing machines, convinced his son would recover on his own. Lucky is stunned, and Luke decides he's done his part and it's time to leave and find Helena. Skye begs Luke to not leave his son in such a state, but Luke won't hear it and takes off. Lucky cries over the realization that his father risked killing him to prove his point, and it takes Liz and Emily's friendships to get him to see that he needs to move on.

Durant begins to cause trouble all around, first suggestion to Lorenzo that he'd be happy if Carly no longer had her kids around to tie her to Sonny. Lorenzo blows Durant off, and takes the opportunity to use his contacts to locate Faith's assistant. Later, Durant unleashes on Ric at the hospital, and tells Ric that Faith is really after him. Alexis refuses to buy Durant's story, but he leaves Ric visibly shaken. Alexis does her best to remind Ric that none of it is his fault, and she begs him to shake off Durant's attempts to rattle him so that he can be strong for her. Ric remains unconvinced, but is willing to put it aside for Alexis's sake.

Carly shows up in Louisiana, and is devastated to hear of Michael's call to Sonny, and then the gunshot. Jason quickly tries to calm her, and reminds her that Faith can't risk not having the kids as collateral, and wouldn't really hurt them. Convinced he's right, Carly works her magic to get through to a shell-shocked Sonny and pull him back from the edge. She reminds him that she is Michael's mother, and that she would feel it if he was gone. She refuses to believe that Faith killed him, and she helps Sonny see that it was likely just a ploy on Faith's part. Lorenzo's call comes in, and Sonny and Jason quickly leave to track down Faith's assistant. While Reese and the men leave, Carly tries her best to stay strong. Sam tells her that Lorenzo's tip is what led to them finding Faith's assistant, and Carly calls Lorenzo back in Port Charles and tearfully thanks him for his help. Meanwhile, Sonny and Jason surround Faith's henchman in his room, and Jason begins to beat him in order to get him to talk. It takes a crazed Sonny holding a loaded gun to his chest to get him to finally admit that Faith is at an abandoned church with the children, and Jason, Sonny, and Reese all head off to find her.

At the church, Faith decides she's waited around long enough, and needs to leave before she's caught. Having "dispersed" of Michael earlier, and declaring him no longer her problem, she herds Morgan and Kristina into an adjoining room. Sonny and Jason pick this moment to crash into the church, catch Faith, and begin a shootout. Faith and her men shoot at Sonny and Jason, while Reese rushes to all the side rooms, looking for the kids. Sonny manages to hold his own as Jason fights back and kills both of Faith's guards. Faith makes one last attempt to escape, but Jason fires his gun at her and sends her to the ground. Wounded, she tries to reach for her own gun, but Sonny steps on her hand, his own aimed at her head, and demands to know where his children are. Reese rushes in and is able to stop Sonny before he kills Faith, by screaming at him that the children aren't there.

Although Carly tries to put on a strong face for Sonny, Lorenzo sees that she needs a shoulder to lean on.

Jason shoots Faith and falls unconscious before revealing where she stashed the children. Aware that they have to get that information out of Faith, Jason works to make sure she doesn't die.

Sonny immediately worries that his kids are dead when he finds evidence that leads him to believe they've been buried. Although in Jason's heart he believes the children are alive, he is overwhelmed with doubt when he learns that traces of Michael's blood was found. At the hospital, Faith's condition goes down rapidly.

Steven is given one last chance to make up for what he did to Rachel in the past, but he can't seem to come up with the words that satisfy her. Meanwhile, Ric reluctantly agrees to let Alexis join him on his trip to Louisiana to find Kristina. He then tells Liz the horrible truth that Faith is the person who pushed her down the stairs when she was pregnant, which caused her to miscarry.

Reese learns that two -- not three! -- children are traveling alone on a plane set to take off from Louisiana.

Sonny, Carly, Alexis and Ric head to the airport, where they are reunited with Kristina and Morgan but no Michael! Back at the hospital, Faith coldly tells Lorenzo that she killed Michael and dumped is body in the swamp.

Rachel enlists Bridget's help to stage a drama which will get Courtney away from Jax. Rachel then feigns her own emergency so Jax will rush to her rescue. Later, alone with Courtney, Rachel threatens to kill Jax if Courtney doesn't do as she instructs.

Alan asks Steven to find out who killed AJ, and Steven agrees. Considering everything that has transpired, Skye and Justus feel guilty for their part in helping Faith escape from prison and go into hiding. Skye's conscience gets the best of her and she wants to confess what she did, but Luke refuses to let her do that.

Thursday, March 3, 2005

Justus visits Luke at the "Haunted Star" to discuss why he feels the need to confess to the cops that he helped Faith escape prison with Luke and Skye. Luke tells him that it is ridiculous for him to confess to something when it won't solve a thing. Sam comes into the casino and asks Justus if he knows any other hiding places where Faith could be keeping Michael. Justus doesn't know anything else that would help. Skye walks in and overhears them talking and thinks they told Sam about how they helped Faith escape. Luke thinks quickly and tells Sam that Skye is referring to the fact that they helped Faith launder money through the casino. Skye realizes she almost revealed too much. Skye still feels guilty about helping Faith escape from prison but is thankful that Morgan and Kristina were found. Luke tells her to stop thinking about confessing since it won't bring Michael back to them. Skye goes to the hospital later and tells Bobbie that she wants to speak to Faith and ask her how long she planned to kidnap the kids. Bobbie tries to comfort her but Skye shrugs her off and says she is a grown women and she has to face what she has done. She shows up at Ric's office and confesses to helping Faith escape from prison.

Alexis is informed by Liz that Kristina's tests came out fine and she is free to go home with her soon. Alexis talks to Liz about her previous marriage to Ric and how she lost a child with Ric when she was married to him. Liz tells Alexis that Faith pushed her down the stairs and made her lose her baby and tells Alexis she is very lucky to have Kristina and a baby on the way. Liz confides in Ric later about how angry she is with Faith for what she did to her. Ric sees Alexis and brings Kristina a bunch of balloons on a string. Alexis can't stop holding Kristina tightly. Ric reminds her that she can let go of Kristina now and relax. Alexis feels very overprotective and tells Ric she can't leave her out of her sight ever again. Alexis feels guilty for being so happy to have Kristina back while Sonny and Carly haven't got Michael back. Ric leaves them alone for awhile and Emily shows up to see Kristina and Alexis. Emily assumes that all three of the children have been found. Alexis informs her that Michael is still missing and that he may be dead. Emily tells Alexis she will tell the family the disturbing news. At the Quartermaine estate Monica returns home after checking on a patient and tells Alan that her patient just had heart surgery at the age of 42 and that AJ's murder should have taught them to not take life for granted and live it showing your love for one another. Alan tells her that AJ may not have felt love but that he loved him and he knew AJ knew that. Edward walks Emily into the room, happy she came by to visit. Emily tells them that Michael got a hold of Faith's cell-phone and called Sonny and that Sonny heard a gunshot after Faith caught Michael with the phone and they haven't found Michael yet. Edward reacts angrily to the news and refuses to believe his great-grandson is dead since they only are guessing what happened just because they only found a little bit of blood and a muddy shovel with Faith's fingerprints on them. Alan goes after Edward to calm him down and Emily comforts Monica.

Jason goes up on the roof of the hospital to find Reese waiting for the medichopper to arrive with Faith to General Hospital. Reese tells him he shouldn't be there and that she is handling Faith and that there will be police guards watching her. Jason tells her he needs a favor from her, a few minutes alone with Faith without any guards in the room so he can talk to her. Reese tells him that they need Faith alive to tell them where Michael is and Jason tells her he doesn't want to kill her. Faith is brought to her room and Sonny overhears Ric telling the other police guards to not leave Faith alone in her room without protection since she is a target now. Jason sees Sonny standing in the hallway near Faith's room with a gun. Jason realizes Sonny plans to kill Faith right now. Jason grabs Sonny and tells him he can't kill Faith since she is the only one who can tell them where Michael is. Jason tells Sonny that he is going to go in and talk to Faith and put pressure on her to talk. Ric sees Sonny nearby and tells him to stay away from Faith and that if he kills Faith they will have no answers about Michael. Meanwhile, Carly has Morgan checked out by a doctor. Bobbie tells her that Morgan got a clean bill of health by the doctor and can go home. Alcazar shows up at the hospital and sees Carly with Morgan and Bobbie. Carly looks at him expectantly since she knows he went to see Faith at the other hospital. Alcazar doesn't want to tell her what Faith told him but she insists he tell her what Faith said to him. Alcazar tells her that Michael is gone. Carly insists on knowing exactly what Faith said. Alcazar tells her that Faith told him that she shot Michael and dumped him in the swamp. Carly refuses to believe and tells him that Faith is lying. Alcazar grabs her and comforts her as Bobbie holds Morgan and keeps him from seeing Carly crying. Alcazar tells her that Faith had no reason to lie and worries that she may have killed Michael. Carly finds Sonny and Jason in the hallway and tells him what Faith told Alcazar at the other hospital. Meanwhile, Agent Reese interrogates Faith about where Michael is. Faith tells her she refuses to be intimidated by her and refuses to talk. Jason walks in. Faith tells her she will not be scared into talking. Reese tells Jason to do what is necessary to get to the truth and she leaves the room after pulling out the plug attached to the call button. Jason approaches Faith and she tells him to stay away from her. He grabs her by the throat and cuts off her oxygen tube so she can't breathe easily. Faith tells him she will tell him the truth. Jason eases off of her. Faith tells Jason that she shot Michael and dumped him in the swamp. Jason is caught off guard by her bluntness and grabs for her throat again. Agent Reese comes and pulls Jason off of her and tells him she heard the whole thing and that Faith is lying to provoke him. Jason calms down and leaves the room. Sam shows up and sees how shaken up Jason is. He tells Sam what Faith told him. Reese comes out and tells Jason that it doesn't make sense for Faith to have killed Michael since she needed everyone to be alive otherwise she knew she would be dead if she didn't have a bargaining chip. Jason realizes Faith didn't make much sense either. Jason goes and talks to Carly and Sonny, while Alcazar listens in. Carly refuses to believe Michael could be dead. Carly asks Sonny to bring Morgan home with her. He agrees to it. Alcazar goes to see Luke at the casino. He knows that Luke and Skye helped Faith escape prison. He asks Luke to tell him everything Faith told him when they were helping her escape. Carly and Sonny return to his mansion with Morgan. She takes Morgan upstairs for a bath before bed. Sonny picks up a picture of Michael and plays with his remote control car. Carly comes downstairs and they talk about Michael's favorite toy. Carly leaves Sonny alone. Sonny takes another gun out of a drawer in the study. Jason and Reese show up and see Sonny with his gun. Jason tells Sonny to calm down and think rationally. Sonny thinks Jason is in denial about Michael. Jason tells Sonny that it doesn't make sense for Faith to kill Michael. Sonny realizes Jason is right. He calls Luke up to come over. He asks Luke to help him with anything he may have on Faith since he helped her launder money through the casino once. Luke tells him he didn't know much about the actual transactions but may have records of the money transfers and offers to give him anything he has on her. Sonny tells him Jason will stop by the casino later to get them. He asks Jason to leave the room for a minute. Jason leaves the room as Carly comes downstairs. She asks him how Sonny is and what he is doing. Jason acts secretive and tells him he is busy. Carly tells him she knows Luke is here. She asks him what Sonny wants with Luke. Carly starts to remember that Luke was connected to Faith with the casino for awhile and then she starts to guess that Luke may have helped Faith escape prison. Carly wants to go in and confront Luke for what he did. Jason stops her and tells her not to blow it by going in and accusing Luke when they need him to give them information. Sonny brings up his friendship with Luke and asks him to tell him everything he knows about Faith. Meanwhile, back at G.H. Faith sleeps in her hospital room. Liz comes into her room and watches her sleep and looks at her monitors and feels even more resentment toward Faith. Later, Justus shows up at Faith's room and tells the police guard that he is Faith's attorney who is there to discuss her case. The cop tells him he can only be in there alone with her for a few minutes. Justus comes in the room and Faith wakes up. She sees Justus and tells him she doesn't think he is there to defend her this time. Justus comes closer to her bed and surprises her when he takes the oxygen tubes out of her nose and grabs a pillow and starts to suffocate her with it. He tells her what she did was indefensible and he wants to know the truth about what she did to Michael. Faith pleads for Justus to let go of her and let her talk. He lets her go so she can talk. She tells him she lied about killing Michael and that he is alive.

Courtney embezzles one million dollars from her foundation and gives it to Rachel, emotionally telling Rachel, while they sit in Courtney's apartment bedroom, that her family needs her right now and that she can't be bothered with her. Rachel tells Courtney, "I am so sorry." Rachel sobs over deliberately taking a man's life and trying to use Courtney to end the life of a man she used to love with all her heart. Rachel vows to not let Courtney go through with this insane plan. Rachel vows that she will cut her losses and try to start a new life away from Courtney's and without the million dollars. Courtney is pleased with her decision, and also vows to let all of this go before leaving the apartment. Rachel gets a lock of hair from Courtney's brush, a sinister smile on her face. Rachel enters a vacant lab room and syringes some blood out of a corked test tube, takes the strands of Courtney's hair out of her pocket, and drips the blood onto the strands, the smile still on her face. Rachel buddies up to Steven as he works on the forensics of AJ's murder case. Rachel defends Courtney by saying telling Steven that Courtney could never do anything so cruel, and Steven agrees with her, just before he steps away to take a call. Once Steven's away, Rachel puts the blood soaked hair strand in the evidence bag.

Justus plays a recording of Faith's emotional confession of not killing Michael, even swearing it on their love, but Mac refuses to use it because Justus had to smother Faith under a pillow to get her to admit. Once alone in Faith's hospital room, Faith tells Mac that she killed Michael. Faith calls a mystery accomplice in the hospital phone from her room to get her out of Port Charles before the trial, or she will tell the police all about him or her.

In Ric's office, agent Marshall and Ric question Skye who her accomplice was when they helped Faith escape from prison. She continues to confess that she acted alone. But Ric is sure that he knows who Skye's accomplice was. Skye continues to lie for Luke, saying that she hired an actor to work with her. But when she can't give agent Marshall or Ric a name, Ric gets ready to bring Luke in. Skye pleas for them to leave Luke out of this: either let her go or arrest her. But Ric has a better idea, suggesting, "how about a third option?" Agent Marshall gives the third option: Skye provides the department with information that may lead them to Michael and receives a free pass, in other words, no charges will be filed. But if she can't come up with the information, Skye and Luke will be charged with aiding and abetting. Skye rushes to the Haunted Star and asks Luke for records on Faith. Luke already knows that she confessed, and isn't convinced that he is completely let off the hook, even with the pending deal Skye has with the PCPD. Skye feels that this will be a great way to exonerate everyone involved, for no matter how much they want to deny it, it's their fault that Michael's missing. Skye gathers up the papers and is confident that this will help her guilty conscience.

"What's a dead son between friends?" Sonny wonders, as he concludes that Luke is responsible for Michael's death. Jason calms Sonny down, telling him that they need Luke to get the information they need on Faith. Sonny sends Jason out of his home to get the papers and continues to drink himself into a mess. Carly joins Sonny at his house and hears the pain in his voice as he recalls hearing the gunshot on the other line after the last time he heard Michael's voice. But Sonny admits that he's praying, though Carly can't pray for she's mad at God for allowing this to happen. Sonny takes the blame, and tells Carly that he's praying for God to forgive him. Carly gives Sonny an ultimatum - he can either retreat into a dark place that he's headed to, or he can fight for Michael. After Carly's departure, agent Marshall joins Sonny, ready to work to find Michael. Sonny asks her why she can't just write Michael off as a casualty of a mob war, why she cares so much. Agent Marshall answers that she cares so much because the first child she was supposed to bring home didn't make it back to his parents. Agent Marshall tells Sonny about her first kidnapping case, a case she was sure she was on top of. But the case ended with a young boy, close to Michael's age, found dead by the hands of a kidnapper she never suspected. Reese knows she won't let that happen with Michael.

Steven takes some evidence to a forensics room, but is stopped by Alan in the lobby, who concludes that the tests are useless, as they will tell him exactly what he knows - Courtney is a killer just like her brother, killing AJ in cold blood. Jax overhears Alan's testimony and can't allow Alan to release his frustrations Courtney or allow anyone to frame Courtney of murder. Jax rushes to Alexis' for her aid, seeing her in Kristina's room getting ready to leave. Before she agrees to defend Courtney, she tells Jax of the good news that she and Ric are expecting. After small talk, Alexis asks Jax if he believed Courtney killed AJ; Jax admits that if he thought Courtney did, they would be out of the country right now. Jax and Courtney enter her apartment, elated to be alone. Courtney hugs Jax and he assures her that everything's going to work out.

Jason and Sam collect all of the files and place them onto Jason's desk in his apartment. Sam tries to take the load off of Jason, but he won't let up while Michael's out there somewhere. Sam brings Jason something to eat, and he grasps her hand and thanks her. After going over the papers, Jason wonders if there is someone else involved.

Lorenzo shoves a bundle of money into a collection box of the church and lights a candle. He takes a seat at the pew and bows his head in prayer as Carly watches him from the entrance. She walks next to the pew and says, "I didn't expect to see you here." Lorenzo lifts his head and answers, "I could say the same." She takes a seat next to him, and he reminisces of Sophia, his love who thought she could change the world and saw the best in everyone, who ended up dying in the crossfire. Carly assumes that he's making a reference that Michael served the same fate, but insists that Michael is not dead, for she would feel it. She admits to Lorenzo that she's to busy to pray because she's constantly staying strong for everyone else. Lorenzo is convinced that Carly is ignoring her own pain, and insists that she doesn't have to do that around him. Carly attempts to pray, but ends up saying an unconvincing prayer. Lorenzo goes to leave Carly with her frustrations, but she grabs him and asks him to stay. Carly stands in front of the lit candles and digs deep in her soul for prayer, eventually delivering a sincere and emotional prayer for God to give Michael to her. Lorenzo rises from his seat and takes Carly in his arms.
