Zander holds a scalpel against Brian's neck, and demands to know if Ric is setting him up. Brian tries to calm Zander down, and admits that Ric is setting him up as Brian's shooter. Zander tells Brian that he's innocent, but a struggle ensues, and the hospital is notified of an attack in Brian's room. Meanwhile, Ric interrogates Maxie on her helping Zander. He tells her that she could be guilty of aiding a fugitive, but Maxie continues to deny having seen Zander. As Ric is alerted to a problem in Brian's room, he runs off in time for Zander to make it to the elevator in an attempt to escape. Maxie jumps in with him, but he tells her that she's already risked enough to help him. He denies shooting Brian again, but tells Maxie to leave him alone and not risk more. Maxie refuses to go, and back up on the hospital floor, Lucky realizes that the elevator has stopped and that Zander is in it. The police get the elevator moving again, and when the doors open, they see on Maxie. She again denies helping Zander, and although suspicious, Lucky finally believes her and leaves without seeing Zander's blood dripping from the elevator shaft.
Ric questions Brian on Zander's reasons to be in his room, and Brian tells him that Zander wanted to let him know that he didn't shoot him. Brian also mentions that Zander said Ric has reason to frame him, but Ric quickly turns the tables on Brian by pointing out that Brian was the one to ID Zander, and perhaps HE has reason to name him in order to protect the real shooter.
The Quartermaines gather at the casino to gamble, and Skye and Tracy get into it over a line of credit. Skye stands up to Tracy's bullying, impressing both Alan and Edward. Skye rebuffs Edward's attempt to compliment her, but is puzzled by his odd behavior. As Tracy tries to enlist Ned to her side, Edward then goes to work on bringing Justus back into the family. Meanwhile, Emily and Nikolas argue over Zander, with Nikolas pointing out that they agreed to share their lives together so she no longer has the right to throw hers away in order to save Zander from himself. She can't help but feel responsible, but Alan agrees with Nikolas and tells her to be careful. Back at Wyndemere, Emily apologizes to Nikolas by pulling him into a kiss.
A shirtless Sonny ends any hope between Jax and Sam, and Jax is obviously disgusted. Sonny quickly leaves before Jax can run out, and Sam tries to explain the situation. No longer having any interest in her excuses, Jax tells her he simply doesn't want to see her get hurt in Sonny's world, and he leaves. Jax goes to the casino and runs into Skye. He immediately begins to flirt with her and suggests they go away for the weekend. Skye is clearly confused, so Jax kisses her. She breaks away and accuses him of being selfish, and using her on the rebound from Sam. She points out that despite his breaking her heart, she has been a friend to him, but she refuses to be a toy to get his mind off of the fact that Sam is now sleeping with Sonny. Realizing his error, Jax apologizes to Skye, but she tells him to leave her alone. She angrily goes to the bar, where the bartender has been paid by Tracy to tempt Skye with a martini.
Jason gets Carly to admit that Alcazar is the person she's sent to the penthouse to retrieve Michael and Morgan. He flips out, but Carly tells him that she had no choice, and that Sonny created this situation. Jason obviously feels for her, but tells her that this is not the way to go about things. Meanwhile, Courtney refuses to allow Alcazar near Morgan and Michael. Alcazar tries to reason with her that Sonny is not allowing Carly to see her own children, but Courtney will not listen to her. Michael runs into the living room, screaming for Alcazar to leave, but he's subdued when Alcazar tells him that his mom sent a message for him.
Alcazar, Courtney, and the children then go to the PC Hotel, where Carly is with Jason. Jason hides her while they come into the lobby, and tells her he will allow her to say hello to the kids, but is then taking them home. Jason continues to explain how he will help her, but she has to do it his way, until Sonny walks into the lobby and sees Michael. Carly spots him and runs to her son and tells him to stay with her. Sonny demands that Michael stand beside him, and not wanting to frighten her son anymore, Carly allows him to be taken home by Jason. After Michael and Morgan leave she tells Sonny that he will not take her children away from her, and to prepare for the fight of his life. In turn, Sonny warns Courtney to never again allow Alcazar near his children if she wants to ever see them again. Courtney races up to Carly's room after Sonny's departure, and blasts her for being as bad as Sonny. Carly apologizes to Courtney for her getting caught in the middle, but refuses to feel bad over her actions. She tells Courtney that Sonny is the one who is keeping her from Michael and Morgan, and she will not stop fighting for her kids.
Back at the penthouse, Sonny explodes to Jason. He calls Carly a slut, and says she'll never get near the children. Jason tells him to be quiet and not insult Carly loudly so that Michael will hear, and he tries to reason with Sonny. Sonny refuses to listen and declares to a shocked Jason that since Carly took sides with his enemy, she is now his enemy, and if she tries to see his sons again, he will treat her as his enemy and act accordingly.
Nikolas comes upon Emily searching for information on Zander from the Internet. She says that news reports say he's still at large, and she hopes he's made it to Canada. Nikolas changes the subject to Helena, and the two think that she's probably hiding, but has not gone far. They begin to search through her purse, and Emily discovers papers written by Blackthorn. They read the pages and discover that Constance and Blackthorn didn't die when the ship was sunk, but rather made it to an island, likely Spoon Island, where they had food and treasure to maintain their lives. Emily and Nikolas begin to search the area where Blackthorn hid, and they come upon the symbol of two hearts that he mentioned in the pages. They kiss in happiness at their discovery, and accidentally dislodge the secret door.
A weak and starving Helena wakes up in her cell to find Luke on the other side of the bars with food. She rushes to the door to eat, but he withholds the sandwich from her in order to get information on the treasure. When she refuses to tell him where she's hidden the stash, he begins to taunt her with the food by eating it slowly in front of her. She warns him that if she dies he will never be able to find the treasure, but he counters that Nikolas will likely find it and lead him to it. Luke continues to hold the sandwich near her, and having not eaten in days, Helena finally gives in and tells him she's hidden the treasure in the bell tower of the PC University. Luke returns later without the treasure, and announces to a smug Helena that he poisoned the sandwich she ate earlier. As she begins to feel the effects, she begs him for the antidote that he's carrying, but he refuses to give it over without the treasure. She finally tells him that she's hidden it on Spoon Island, and he takes her to show him where in person. When they arrive, however, the treasure is gone. Nikolas emerges and tells them both that he and Emily discovered it, and have hidden it elsewhere. Luke promptly throws away the antidote, and thinking she will soon die, Helena declares her lasting love to her grandson. Annoyed, Luke admits that he only gave her enough poison to have a stomach ache, and she happily leaves the cave. Nikolas then informs Luke that he and Emily have decided to auction off the treasure at the PC Hotel the following evening.
Edward runs into Justus at the hotel and again asks him to take over ELQ. Justus refuses as usual, and Edward then asks him to draw up a new will for him stating that whoever can rescue ELQ will inherit everything. Justus laughs at him, and tells him he's a bitter old man who has alienated his entire family, and has no money left. Edward is about to respond, but his focus is switched to Jason in the doorway. He asks Jason to come back into the family and help him with the company, but Jason tells him that he's happy with the life he has now and leaves.
Tracy walks into the Quartermaine living room only to encounter a drunken Skye. Having fallen off the wagon at the casino the night before, Skye tells Tracy to leave her alone. But in typical fashion, Tracy taunts her and tells her she wants her gone. Its then that Skye discovers Tracy was the person who sent her the drink the night before. Edward walks in and announces he's changing his will, and Tracy begins to call Skye out to him for being a drunk. Sensing the reality of the situation, Edward banishes Tracy from the room and tells Skye that he's considering making her the heir. Tracy listens from the door, and when Skye tells Edward she doesn't trust him and walks out, Tracy runs in to berate him for considering a non-Quartermaine. Edward tells her that she'll never get the company because she has no soul, and suddenly begins to double over in pain from an apparent heart attack. As he calls for his medicine, Tracy stands and watches him but doesn't move to help. He stands up, having been tricking her, and tells her he just tested her and she failed.
Maxie rushes a disguised Zander through the hotel lobby, and takes him down to the boiler room. It's clear that he is severely wounded and in great pain, and Maxie doesn't want to leave him alone. Zander asks her to get him some pain medication to take the edge off, but she refuses to leave without him. He begs her to do this last favor for him, and promises to stay put and rest until she returns. Maxie finally agrees and goes to the hospital to steal pain medication for him, but once she's gone, Zander collapses. At the hospital, Maxie steals pain pills, but is caught by Cameron. He accompanies her back to Zander, and as Zander tries to get away from him, he collapses, and Cameron operates on his leg to remove the bullet fragment. Suddenly they all hear a noise and hide behind a generator when Edward walks in with a maintenance man. They overhear the man tell Edward his electrical system is dangerously outdated and in need of an upgrade. Edward promises to have it fixed as soon as he has a cash flow again.
Carly shows up at the penthouse to talk to Sonny again about seeing their children. She tries to reason with him at the door, and tell him that they need to come to a compromise and not drag their kids through hell, and Sonny lets her in. Unbeknownst to either of them, Michael is sitting at the staircase and eavesdropping on their conversation. When Carly suggests that she take the boys to children's night at the zoo, Sonny balks and says that Alcazar could have his plane ready to take them out of the country. Carly explains that Sonny left her no choice earlier, than to have Alcazar try to get Michael and Morgan, but Sonny replies that the boys are going no where and the only person leaving is her. He tells her to get out, and she lets him know that the situation is not over. She leaves, and Sonny angrily throws Morgan's stroller and goes into the other room. Once he's gone, Michael emerges from the stairs and takes the stroller.
Jason shows up at the penthouse to ask Sonny if he can take the boys to the zoo, and they discover them missing. In the meantime, Michael shows up at the PC Hotel and tells Carly that he took Morgan in the stroller and left the penthouse in order to see her. She tries to comfort him and assure him that no matter what happens between her and Sonny, she will always love him and he will never be to blame. As she is hugging him, Sonny and Jason appear in the lobby. Michael tells them that he left with Morgan, and Carly had nothing to do with it, but Sonny tells her that she's to blame for Michael being upset enough to do such a thing, and that he's getting a restraining order against her so that she can't come near the kids. Carly immediately attempts to get Alexis to help her stop Sonny, but Alexis refuses. Despite Jason's pleas to reconsider, Sonny enlists Justus to put the paperwork together barring Carly from her sons and granting Sonny full custody.
Edward, Emily, Nikolas and Tracy meet in the Versailles Room of the Port Charles Hotel to make plans for improving the Hotel's security system during the impending auction of the pirate's treasure. Tracy tries to change Dillon's mind, but Dillon brushes his mother off. However, Tom is surprised when Georgie informs him that there will be NO hopping in the sack while they are there ~ and Tom turns down Georgie's plan for a night at the Hotel. As Tom leaves, he suggests that Georgie should just tell Dillon the truth. Later, when Dillon spots Georgie at Kelly's, Georgie prepares to tell Dillon the truth about Tom ~ but they are soon interrupted by Sage. So Georgie blurts out that she and Tom are planning to rent a room at the Port Charles Hotel. Sage suggests that perhaps Dillon and Sage ALSO ought to get a hotel room there as well. When Tom arrives unexpectedly, Georgie rushes to Tom and begs him to play along as she talks about their plans for the evening. Sage quietly convinces Dillon that they SHOULD get a room, just to prove to Georgie that Sage and Dillon ARE a solid couple. Dillon reluctantly agrees. Meanwhile, Tracy meets with Coleman and gives him the plans for the new security system at the hotel, and makes plans with Coleman to steal the treasure.
As Zander recovers in the Boiler Room of the Port Charles Hotel, the electricity continues to malfunction. Zander fantasizes that he sees Emily and that Emily pleads with Zander to reconcile with her and allow her to go with him to Canada ~ just as they had planned to go years before. Meanwhile, Georgie spots Maxie headed to the Hotel with a big bag of carry out food. When Georgie questions her sister, Maxie claims she has a sick friend. When Maxie later arrives at the Hotel with her bag of carry out, Ric spots her and questions her about the bag of food. But Cameron suddenly shows up and tells Ric that Maxie brought the food for a conference of doctors, which Cameron is hosting in one of the rooms upstairs. Later, when Maxie takes the food to Zander, they once again hide when a technician arrives to add the new security system to the Hotel's electrical system. At the same time, Cameron tracks Alexis down and implores Alexis to represent Zander in court. Although Alexis insists that it would be a conflict of interest for her to represent BOTH Zander AND Nikolas, Cameron prevails upon Alexis to at least speak to Zander and hear Zander's version of events the night that Detective Brian Beck was shot. In the meantime, the security technician finds Edward and reports that the new security system, put in place JUST for the auction of the pirate treasure, will overload the electrical grid and the hotel COULD go up in smoke the next time someone turns on a hair dryer. However, Edward informs the Electrical Technician that NOTHING can be done about the electrical system for at least another 24 hours. After that time, Edward assures the technician, the Quartermaine family will have enough money to update the Hotel's electrical system with ALL of the latest technology. At the same time, as Maxie and Zander chow down on Maxie's Take Out, Zander fills Maxie in on his plan to head for Canada as soon as he can slip out of town unnoticed. Zander and Maxie panic when Cameron and Alexis suddenly show up. Holding a gun aimed at Maxie, Zander declares that he will shoot Maxie if Cameron and Alexis plan to turn him over to the Police. In the meantime, Cassandra Kanelos, Chief Electrician for the Port Charles Hotel, tracks Assistant District Attorney Ric Lansing down and alerts Ric to the dangerous overload posed by the new security system. Ric promises to check into the matter.

Sonny promises to order Jason to stay away from Sam. Sam reminds Sonny that their relationship has no strings, but Sonny wonders WHY Samantha passed up the easy money offered by Jason if she would only leave town. Samantha insists that she turned the money down because she can NOT be bought. However, as she speaks, Sam spots the newspaper headlines about the auction of the pirate treasure and rushes off to get dressed. Sonny is surprised when he discovers that Samantha is STILL going after the treasure! After Sonny leaves to meet with Jason, Samantha calls the Hotel to check on the security measures being used to protect the treasure during the auction.

Brian is hurt when Courtney suddenly arrives and backs up Jason's warning. After Michael informs Brian that they can no longer be friends and leaves, Brian blasts Jason for using a child as a go-between to send messages to Brian. Brian accuses Jason of being jealous of Courtney's interest in Brian, but Jason only warns Brian to stay away from his family. Later, Courtney reminds Jason that Jason's involvement with Sonny's business is making a recluse of Michael ~ who is now afraid of trusting anyone OTHER than Sonny or Jason. When Jason reminds Courtney that COURTNEY is a stable constant in Michael's life, Courtney predicts that the day will come when Sonny turns on Courtney in just the same way that Sonny has turned on Carly. Courtney urges Jason to do something to try to convince Sonny and Carly to call off their feud and make peace for the sake of Michael and Morgan. Later, when Courtney runs in to Brian at Kelly's, Courtney begins to blast Brian for using Brian's friendship with a child to try to get inside information about Sonny's business. However, Courtney is shocked when Brian calmly explains to Courtney that he KNOWS that it was COURTNEY who shot him ~ and that Brian was covering for Courtney when he identified Zander as the shooter!

Lorenzo confides to Carly that he has brought in a weapon that will blast Sonny's case out of the water. Later, Lorenzo introduces Carly to Attorney Jen MacNeill, who will be representing Carly in the custody battle with Sonny. However, even as Carly explains the Restraining Order to Jen, Sonny meets with Justus. Justus warns Sonny that the ONLY way that Sonny can hope to gain full custody of Michael and Morgan is to prove that Carly is unfit. Sonny tells Justus to go ahead and drag up all of Carly's past mistakes. Justus urges Sonny to put the children's best interests ahead of Sonny's desire to get even with Carly ~ but Sonny insists that what IS best for Michael and Morgan is to have Carly out of their lives for good. Later, when Sonny meets Jasn with Michael and Morgan in the park, Michael coldly turns down Sonny's offer of a trip to the hockey rink. After Michael and Jason leave to return to the Penthouse, Sonny spots Carly hovering in the bushes near Morgan and Sonny warns Carly NOT to even think of getting near Morgan. Later, at the Penthouse, Michael confides to Jason that Michael misses his mother. At the same time, Carly implores Sonny to sit down with her to work out a compromise for the future of the children. But Carly then suddenly picks up Morgan instead. When Carly refuses to turn Morgan loose, Sonny flags down a passing Lucky and demands that Lucky do his duty and take Morgan away from Carly. Lorenzo suddenly shows up and Lorenzo finally convinces Carly to return Morgan to Sonny. As soon as Sonny has Morgan, Sonny insists that Carly be arrested and Lucky complies by arresting Carly.
Courtney asks Brian why he didn't tell the cops that she shot him after he tells her he remembers seeing Jason take the gun from her after he was shot. He tells her he did it to protect her. She asks him if he is doing this to have something over on her to get her to tell him about Jason and Sonny's activities. He tells her that he lied and told Ric that Zander shot him because Zander is like Sonny and Jason and already almost killed another person but that she is innocent. He finally tells her that he is in love with her and will never tell the police she shot him. She tells him that she can't promise him her feelings for him will change to something romantic. He tells her that he doesn't expect her to feel that way about him right now. Jason watches them talk from outside Kelly's. Brian leaves Kelly's when his beeper goes off and he returns the call. Jason hides around the corner until he is gone. He goes inside Kelly's and asks her what Brian wanted from her. She goes outside and tells him that Brian knows she shot him but didn't tell the police to protect her. Jason warns her that Brian has been setting her up from the beginning to get information about him. She tells him she understands he doesn't trust Brian but that she doesn't totally not trust him yet even though she knows that he hasn't been honest with her all the time. She tells Jason that Brian told her he was in love with her and that is why he is protecting her. Jason thinks that he is going to eventually blackmail her with that information to use later to get her to roll over on him and Sonny some day. She tells him she won't help him like that but believes he is telling the truth about being in love with her. Jason doesn't believe it and thinks Brian is manipulating her and warns her not to trust Brian since he is a cop. Meanwhile, Carly is brought into PCPD in handcuffs with Lucky as her police escort. Ric is there when she is brought in and asks Lucky what the charge is. Lucky tells him that she was arrested for violating a court order. He tells Lucky to bring her into the interrogation room for now. Sonny shows up and Ric assumes that he is there to bail her out of jail but Sonny informs him that he is the one who had her arrested for violating the court order. Alcazar shows up with Carly's new attorney. Her new attorney tells Ric that the court order was not properly served to Carly and she is going to have it rescinded by a judge. Sonny tells Ric that Carly violated the court order and wants her charged. Sonny leaves. He goes back to the hotel where Sam is. He sees her all dressed up in an evening gown. He persuades her to be late so they can have sex. Jason arrives at his room later at the hotel. He tells him about the Brian situation and how he knows that Courtney shot him but didn't tell his fellow cops about it and how he is worried that Brian will use that over Courtney's head and that even though she is loyal to them she may end up doing something to ease her conscience. Sonny doesn't like that scenario and tells Jason to take care of Brian, without coming right out and ordering a hit on him. Jason understands Sonny's meaning. Back at PCPD, Carly, Alcazar and her attorney meet to discuss how to get the court order against her dropped. Alcazar somehow finds out that the judge that issued the court order is one of the judges in Sonny's pocket. Carly's attorney feels that getting that court order rescinded will be harder than she thought it would be. Ric offers to help Carly to make amends for kidnapping her. He pulls a few strings and finds a judge at the hotel to rescind the court order. Alcazar listens to what Ric says and realizes that he never really made amends for kidnapping her from Ric and that she should hate him for that. Carly tells Alcazar that she thinks people can change for the better and that she sees no reason not to think he can't change either. Carly shows up at Sonny's hotel room with a document. She tells Sonny that she managed to have the court order against her seeing her children rescinded and that she now has a court order for temporary custody of their children.
The Quartermaines gather in the hotel for the auctioning off of the treasure. The proceeds from the auction will be split evenly by the Quartermaines and the Cassadines. Tracy has Coleman meet her there. He is carrying a gun under his tuxedo jacket and hangs around waiting for a moment when Tracy can distract the guards and he can make his move to steal the treasure from the families. Nikolas tells Emily that he doesn't trust Tracy or Helena not to try to steal the treasure during the auction and gets more security to help him. Tracy announces she wants to make a toast and makes a big spectacle of herself to get the guards' attention. Coleman waits until he sees a guard watching Tracy intently and moves his hand to the guard's gun as if to take it from him but Nikolas surprises him by coming up behind him and grabbing him by the arms and knocking him backwards. The security guard sees what is going on and helps Nikolas subdue Coleman. Nikolas orders the guards to escort Coleman from the hotel premises and make sure he leaves. Helena warns Tracy that if she tries to steal the treasure she will not live to see it. Lucky shows up with Brian at the hotel after hearing about how the treasure was almost stolen and try to offer more security. Meanwhile, Luke plots with Sam to steal the treasure but she isn't too happy to be just his assistant but agrees to be partners with him. Luke makes a spectacle to draw attention on himself and pretends to be drunk so Sam can help him steal the treasure. Luke manages to case the place out by pretending to be drunk and disorderly so he can see where the treasure is being kept. He steals the treasure while Sam is upstairs with Sonny. She sneaks out of Sonny's room when she thinks he is asleep. He tells her he wishes her luck in getting the treasure back and hopes she gets all of it since she deserves it. She gets back downstairs and meets with Luke in their hiding place. Luke is putting the treasure into pillow cases to take out of the hotel. Sam asks him if he was planning to steal the treasure without her and just take off. He tells her that he did all of the work and deserves the treasure. He offers her a diamond bracelet as her share. She tells him that she deserves more than just one piece of jewelry. Luke concedes and gives her some more jewels. While his back is turned, Sam takes out a taser switch and shocks Luke in the neck to knock him out. She steals the treasure herself and leaves Luke there. Meanwhile, the auction is a success when one man gives a huge bid on most of the jewelry. Edward goes over to thank him for bidding and asks him if he is bidding for himself or someone else. Alcazar comes in and tells them that he is the man behind the bid. Edward goes over to look at the treasure and is shocked to find it missing. He announces to everyone that the treasure has been stolen.
Alexis and Cameron try to talk Zander into giving them the gun he has pointing at Maxie. Zander tells Cameron that he doesn't know if he can trust him to suddenly look out for him when he didn't most of his life. Cameron apologizes to Zander for being a lousy father to him and pleads with him to give him the gun and let him help him. Cameron starts to cry and tells Zander he can't stand to lose another child and that he has no one left in his life but him. Alexis offers to help get Ric to back off the case concerning Brian's shooting and to help him. She tells Zander he will need to turn himself in to the police with her help and his father's. Zander gives him the gun and lets Maxie go. Alexis tells them they need to get going to the police station. Zander refuses to go with them and Maxie confirms that they set up the whole gun scenario to get their help and that Zander had no intention of shooting Maxie. Alexis warns Maxie that she could be in big trouble by helping Zander. They let them stay there for now but Alexis tells him they will be back after they get Ric to back off the case. Cameron and Alexis find Ric at the hotel. Cameron puts pressure on Alexis to help Zander and get her to persuade Ric to back off so that Zander has a chance to clear his name of the shooting. Alexis and Cameron talk to Ric. Ric refuses to drop the charge against Zander because a cop was shot. Alexis points out to Ric that if he doesn't back out of the case himself and let someone else prosecute the case, she will make sure a judge knows that he is biased against Zander because he is the father of Ric's wife's baby and he has reason to want him behind bars. Ric agrees to take himself off the case. Lucky tells Nikolas that he almost had Zander at the hospital but that he got away and he suspects that Maxie knows more than she is saying to them about Zander. Nikolas takes a walk and sees Maxie exiting a door marked for the lower basement room. Maxie had tried to talk Zander out of leaving the country and agreed to help him with one last favor, which is to drive him to Canada by some back roads. She leaves to go make arrangements to get a car. Nikolas enters the stairwell that leads to the basement. He goes inside the electrical room and finds Zander. Zander has a metal pipe in his hand and threatens Nikolas with it. He also informs Nikolas that as soon as he takes care of him he is going to grab Emily and leave the country forever. He hits Nikolas in the stomach with the metal pipe. Nikolas ducks for the next blow and manages to kick Zander in the head and knock him out on the floor. He checks his pulse and sees he is still alive and breathing and leaves the room. He locks the room up from the outside so Zander can't escape. He calls the police and informs him that he found Zander and locked him in the electrical room in the hotel. An electrical unit blows a fuse and a fire starts and surrounds Zander's unconscious body.
Georgie shows up at the Port Charles hotel with "Tom." He isn't very cooperative with her until she reminds him she is paying him to pretend to be her boyfriend. He hands her his term paper assignment on the Civil War to do for him in exchange for his cooperation. She tells him to go pay for their room. They get over to the front desk to check in. Georgie is dismayed to overhear Sage and Dillon talking right behind her. He tells Sage that he booked them a suite since she is so spoiled and wouldn't settle for less. Dillon notices Georgie and "Tom" and isn't happy to see that they rented a room also. The front desk clerk apologizes to them about their rooms not being available due to remodeling and the auction going on there this evening. Sage tells the clerk that any room with a bed will do just fine and looks at Georgie with a knowing gleam in her eye. Georgie glares at her. Both young couples are shown their rooms and aren't happy when they find out their rooms are conjoining ones. They insist on making sure their rooms are locked from each other. Georgie works on "Tom's" term paper while he watches sports and listens to it on headphones. He makes noises to make Dillon think they are having sex. Dillon is moping around the room, jealous about what is going on in the other room. Georgie tells "Tom" to be quiet and stop making so much noise. Dillon thinks they are having sex so he allows Sage to seduce him into having sex. Georgie can hear them in the other room which "Tom" points out to her they are having sex. Georgie tells him she thinks he was right about it not being so great to stay there at the hotel after all and tells him they should leave right now. She opens her door and sees smoke in the hallway. She rushes over and bangs on Sage and Dillon's door and tells them that there is a fire in the hotel and they need to get out.
A fire spreads throughout the basement as Zander lays unconscious o the floor. Nikolas calls the police and requests them to come to the hotel and they will find Zander locked up in the utility room in the basement. He doesn't tell Emily what happened with Zander when she asks him where he went. He tells her he was just in the lobby. Ric learns from Lucky that the treasure was stolen from the auction. He tells everyone present that he will be questioning everyone as quickly as possible and that some of them may have to go to the police station to sign a report. Edward gets a call from the hotel manager. He tells them that there is a fire in the hotel and that they all must evacuate immediately. Mac and a uniformed cop show up at the hotel after getting Nikolas' call. They ask the hotel clerk at the front desk about the utility room and where it is and announce that the fugitive Zander Smith has been hiding down there and is locked inside right now. Mac and the cop draw their weapons as they approach the door. Mac calls out a warning to Smith that they are going inside and to cooperate. They get no answer from Zander. Mac orders the cop to open the door gently and have his weapon ready in case Zander is armed with a gun and tells him he can be dangerous when provoked. The cop opens the door slowly. The fire inside the basement causes a back draft when the door opens and Mac and the cop are blown from the blast of fire. The fire department shows up. Maxie walks into the hotel and sees all the commotion. She becomes alarmed when she sees two paramedics transporting a severely wounded patient toward the doors to the ambulance. Maxie fears it is Zander and approaches the paramedics. She is shaken up when she recognizes the patient as Mac and tells the paramedics that he is her father. She tells them to tell Mac she is o.k. if he wakes up. Maxie approaches one of the firefighters and asks about the fire. He tells her that the fire seems to have originated from the basement. She tells him that someone is down in the basement and they have to get him out. They inform her that if someone is down in the basement, they most likely didn't survive the fire, which has gone out of control. Maxie is devastated by the news. Cameron puts pressure on Alexis to help Zander as quickly as possible before his son ends up killed. She tells him she is doing everything she can right now but that she has to wait until things get processed and that Ric has already agreed to step of the case. Meanwhile, The Cassadines and the Quartermaines accuse each other of stealing the treasure. Edward orders Justus to go interrogate the Cassadines until one of them confesses to stealing the treasure. Justus refuses to do anything for Edward. Lucky questions Skye about why she was at the auction when she isn't really a Quartermaine anymore. She tells him she came to support Nikolas and Emily tonight. He makes a remark to her that she seems to have been getting close to his father, who he doesn't trust right now when it comes to the treasure and his behavior earlier.
