Jason gives Carly a cold, hard dose of reality, warning her that he's not sure that Sonny will be able to forgive her for contacting Alcazar. Held hostage by Sonny, Sam convinces him that Carly was only doing what she thought she needed to keep him safe. He makes his way back to Carly at the penthouse just as she begins to tell Alcazar that she might be in love with him.

Jax reacts with great fear to the news that Sonny took Sam hostage. Skye calls him on it, claiming that it's obvious that he loves her. Although he denies his love for Sam to Skye, he later greets Sam with a passionate embrace when she returns safe and sound.

Needing some space away from Jason, Courtney moves out of their penthouse and into a room above Kelly's. While making himself at home aboard the Haunted Star, Luke finds a hidden cash load. He later makes Skye a very happy woman by offering her the opportunity to be his full partner in the casino.

Nikolas tries to distract Emily from studying for medical school so that they can spend time together. She finally agrees, and they play in the snow and kiss. Back at Wyndemere, Emily and Nikolas make love and count their blessings.

Sam refuses to press charges against Sonny despite pressure from Scott and Jax. Sam claims Sonny offered to let her go once he was away from the police and he did not hold her against her will. Once Scott leaves, Sam assures Jax that Sonny isn't threatening her, but rather she understands his motives and can relate. Jax tells Sam that he knows she gave the cards away and wants to know why. They continue to talk in circles with each other, and Sam walks out. She heads to the airport to leave Port Charles for good. As she waits for her flight, she remembers her time with Jax. Once she gets up to board the plane, she sees that he is waiting for her. He tells her that Port Charles is beautiful at Christmas, in an attempt to get her to stay. As he walks away, a police officer arrives and arrests Sam for helping Sonny.

Sonny walks in on Carly and Alcazar in the penthouse. Carly orders Alcazar to leave, and she and Sonny begin to argue. Carly swears that she did not call the police to set him up, but that she only called Alcazar so that Sonny wouldn't commit murder. Sonny tells Carly that no matter what happens, he will always love her. Carly says that while she can't help her feelings due to her brain injury, she does not want to see him throw his life away. She insists that it never occurred to her that Alcazar would call the police, but that she was just trying to save Sonny from himself. Sonny admits that Sam said the same thing to him, and he begins to believe it. Carly then tells Sonny to love their kids enough to save himself.

Jason and Courtney discover that Brian is renting the room across the hall from Courtney at Kelly's. Jason warns Courtney about Brian, and she promises she will say nothing to him. She tells Jason that she wants to be with him, but needs some time. Courtney can't understand how he could let Sonny go after Alcazar. After Jason leaves, Courtney turns on the news to hear that Sonny has barricaded himself in his penthouse. She runs out of the room to Sonny's apartment. She arrives to find Mike in front of the building with swarms of police. She fills him in on what has been going on, and nearby, Scott orders the police to shoot Sonny.

Ric goes to Kelly's and tells Liz that Sonny is holed up in his penthouse, and Scott has ordered the police to shoot him. Liz questions Ric on what seems like concern, and Ric confesses that Sonny will never be an easy topic for him. He admits that he and Sonny have many things in common. His sincerity is not lost on Liz.

Upon learning that Sonny is in his penthouse, Brian tells Scott that he is going into the building to try to negotiate with him. Scott tells Cappelli that he can take Sonny out, and Alcazar reminds Scott that Carly is up there too. Cappelli, Brian, Lucky, and the other officers ride up the elevator to the penthouse floor, and Cappelli orders everyone to shoot Sonny if they get the chance. Unarmed, Sonny walks out of his apartment into the hallway in front of the police and they all take aim. Unbeknownst to the officers, Jason is behind them and grabs Cappelli's arm as he shoots at Sonny, causing him to miss. Brian's shot, however, hits Sonny in the arm, causing him to run back into his penthouse to Carly. Jason is handcuffed for police interference, and as he is taken away he questions Cappelli on his shoot to kill agenda. Once Jason gets out of the building, he sees Courtney and tells her that Brian shot Sonny.

Meanwhile, Carly tells Sonny that no matter what happens, he is her husband and they need to figure out a way to get him out of the penthouse alive. She refuses to leave him, and demands that she stand between Sonny and the officer's line of fire as they walk into the hallway. In the hall, Lucky ignores Cappelli and helps Sonny and Carly out of the building.

Jax is shocked when Tracy informs him that Samantha has been arrested for aiding and abetting Sony when Sonny fled the Police. At the same time, at the Port Charles Police Department, Sam discovers that she will share an interrogation room with Jason. While they are alone, Jason explains to Sam that Scott is just using Sam as a pawn to get to Sonny. When Sam declares that she will NOT be testifying against Sonny, Jason promises to finance Samantha's legal involvement and get the best attorney available for her defense. Jax suddenly arrives and begins trying to convince Sam to go ahead and testify against Sonny. Jax is shocked when he realizes that Sam is continuing to refuse to testify against Sonny. Emily and Nikolas arrive and post Jason's bail. After Emily leaves the PCPD, Jason warns Nikolas that Faith may interpret Sonny's arrest as an opening to take over more of the local criminal territories. Jason asks Nikolas to call Faith and offer to make peace with her, while using the opening to see if Faith will drop any hints about her planned moves. Meanwhile, as Jax listens to Samantha defend Sonny's actions, Jax warns the young woman that she is merely part of a long string of young women who have risked everything to protect Sonny. However, Samantha continues to refuse to cooperate.

As Courtney heads to Kelly's, she overhears Faith, gloating to Zander that Faith plans to make a MAJOR drug deal tonight on one of Sonny's piers ~ and then Faith will be able to use the money to finance a complete take over of all criminal activities in Port Charles. Faith predicts that all that will be left of the Corinthos empire will be dust. Courtney races to the PCPD to bail Jason out, but learns from Brian that Jason has already been bailed out. When Brian urges Courtney to cut her ties to Jason and be grateful she had the opportunity, Courtney orders Brian to keep his nose out of her business. Then Courtney storms away from the PCPD.

Ric and Liz arrive at the ski lodge, prepared to enjoy a romantic weekend together. But the romantic weekend is interrupted when a police officer arrives to announce that District Attorney Baldwin needs Ric back in town to help indict Ric's gangster brother for attempted murder. Later, Liz and Emily meet at Kelly's and Liz confides that she still has NOT worked up enough courage to tell Zander and Ric about the expected baby. As Liz and Emily talk, Nikolas arrives, followed closely by Faith and Zander. As Nikolas and Faith confer, Liz speaks briefly to Zander. Liz tries to convince Zander to break off his involvement with Faith, but Zander refuses and advises Liz NOT to try to save him from himself. Meanwhile, Nikolas tells Faith that he is willing to accommodate Faith's "business." However, Faith leaves without betraying any of her plans.

Georgie slips in to the Quartermaine Mansion to make sure that Dillon is OK. Tracy spots Georgie slipping in and blasts Georgie and Dillon for continuing to meet in secret. After Georgie leaves, Tracy again threatens to send Dillon to Military School. However, Dillon argues that, with his new job, he no longer needs to depend on Quartermaine handouts and can afford to be with Georgie without threats hanging over his head. Later, Sage meets with Dillon and asks him to find out whatever he can about Carly. Later, as Dillon hands over information about Carly to Sage, Sage is surprised that her uncle would be so taken with such an obvious nut case as Carly. Georgie spots Dillon and Sage together and blasts Dillon for failing to call her after the encounter with Tracy. When Georgie insists that Dillon give up his job baby~sitting Sage, Dillon insists that the job with Alcazar makes it possible for Dillon to avoid military school and stay in town. Georgie insists that she would rather see Dillon in Military School than dead from a stray bullet aimed at Alcazar! After Georgie leaves, Alcazar suddenly arrives and announces that he wants Dillon to take Sage out of the country for safekeeping.

As Carly arrives at the Hospital to visit Sonny, she overhears Scott gloating to reporters that a speedy conviction of Sonny will be a slam dunk. When Carly sees Sonny, she assures her husband that she understands that he was provoked and that everything will work out. Scott suddenly barges in and announces that Samantha has been arrested as Sonny's accomplice, since Samantha provided the get-away car for Sonny as Sonny fled the scene, following his attempt to murder Alcazar. While Sonny and Scott argue, Carly slips into the hall and calls Alcazar, asking for a meeting. Later, after Jason is bailed out of jail, Jason visits Sonny in the Hospital. Sonny confides that he believes that Scott and Alcazar conspired together to trump up the attempted murder charge. Sonny is cheered when Jason reports that Samantha had no plans to testify against Sonny, but Jason also reports that Jax had just arrived at the PCPD to see Samantha as Jason was leaving. Jason assures Sonny that Jason will be able to fix things. At the same time, Carly meets with Alcazar and informs Alcazar that he will NEVER see Carly again if Lorenzo testifies against Sonny. Carly is surprised when Alcazar agrees NOT to testify against Sonny, but warns Carly that IF Sonny gets off the hook this time, it will only mean that Sonny will probably make another attempt on Lorenzo's life soon. After Jason leaves Sonny's room, Ric visits Sonny and informs the Mob Boss that, as the police see it, Samantha McCall HAD to be either an innocent victim who was forced at gunpoint to drive away with Sonny ~ OR Samantha was a willing accomplice who conspired to drive Sonny away from the scene of the crime. Ric warns that Samantha WILL go to jail if she does NOT press kidnapping charges against Sonny. Declaring that he does not want an innocent bystander like Sam to suffer for Sonny's mistakes, Sonny confesses to Ric that he DID kidnap Samantha. Just at that moment, Carly returns and tries to stop Sonny, but Sonny insists that it is too late. After Ric leaves, Carly tries to convince Sonny to get the confession of kidnapping disallowed as evidence, but Sonny refuses, explaining again that he doesn't want an innocent bystander to suffer for Sonny's mistakes. Meanwhile, Jason visits Courtney at Kelly's. Courtney appeals to Jason to leave town with her, but Jason refuses. Courtney then explains that she overheard Faith bragging that Faith is landing a shipment on one of Sonny's piers that very night that would finance Faith's final takeover of all the mob territories in town. Courtney implores Jason not to get involved in any action against Faith. Jason assures Courtney that he will be waiting for her if she decides to return home, but he MUST take care of stopping Faith's planned takeover. At the same time, Scott interrupts Samantha and Jax's argument at the PCPD to announce that Samantha is being released because Sonny has confessed that he kidnapped Samantha and forced her to drive away from the scene of the crime with him.

Later in the evening, Ric and Liz return to the ski lodge and Ric reports that Sonny has confessed to kidnapping Samantha and has pretty much sealed his own fate. When Ric confides that Sonny's assured downfall feels like a hollow victory, Liz declares that she now believes that Ric COULD become the man Liz once believed Ric was. They seal their new understanding with a kiss.

Meanwhile, Jason meets Nikolas on the docks and sends Nikolas around to distract Faith. As Nikolas talks to Faith, he suddenly announces that they are surrounded by Sonny's men. As Nikolas speaks, Jason detonates an explosive that blows up Faith's shipment. At the same time, at Kelly's, Courtney sadly takes off her wedding ring and puts it in a drawer. When Courtney hears a knock at the door, she rushes to answer it, expecting to see that Jason has returned. Courtney is obviously disappointed when she finds that it is Brian who is standing on her doorstep.

Dillon shows up at G.H. to see Georgie to explain that he has to leave town to protect Sage on Alcazar's orders. Sage is right behind him and tells her that they have to go away together and insinuates that they will be doing a lot more than hanging out together. Georgie isn't too happy with the news and doesn't understand why Alcazar thinks that Dillon can protect Sage from Sonny's men. Dillon tells her he doesn't want to go but he has to do his job and go with Sage. Two of Sonny's men get off the elevator. Dillon makes Sage go wait near the elevators so he can talk to Georgie without her trying to cause trouble. Sage runs over and tells Dillon they have to make a run for it and lies and says that Sonny's men just got off the elevator and are watching her every move. Dillon believes her and tells Georgie he has to take Sage and find another exit to go out of so Sonny's men won't see them. Alcazar sees them leave. Georgie asks him why he is putting Dillon in danger and making him protect his niece when he doesn't know how to. Alcazar tells her he understands that she doesn't like his niece and worries about her being alone with Dillon but tells her that if they really love each other no one will be able to come between them ever. Dillon and Sage get sent to some hotel room out of the country. Sage starts to come on to Dillon who shows no interest in sleeping with her and tells her the only woman he is dreaming about right now is Georgie and tries to call her. He gets her answering service and leaves her a message that he got to his destination safely with Sage and tells her he loves her. Sage isn't pleased that her plan to seduce him isn't working and starts to call him names. He in return puts her in her place and tells her he'd rather be with someone like Georgie than a slut like her. Sage turns around and starts to change her tune and acts all nice to him again. She picks up a champagne bottle and suggests they make the best of it for now. Dillon picks up another bottle of champagne and drinks from the bottle. He ends up getting drunk and tries to set up a booby trap for any intruder who tries to come in and starts to stagger all over the place. He starts rambling on about movies while Sage starts to take off her shirt and then she jumps on him and kisses him. Later, Georgie returns Dillon's call on his cell-phone and Sage answers it. She insinuates that Dillon and she have been fooling around and tells her that Dillon went out to get more champagne and that she shouldn't call back again and hangs up on her. In reality, Dillon is passed out on the bed.

Sam goes to see Sonny to ask him why he won't let her tell the police that he didn't kidnap her against her will. He tells her that he can't allow her to be charged with aiding and abetting on his account and thanks her for trying to help him. He asks her what she is getting out it by helping him this way anyway. Jax comes into Sonny's hospital room and tells Sam he wants to know why also. She tells Jax that it doesn't concern him and that she is helping Sonny because she knows how it feels to have someone think she betrayed them when she didn't and she knows that Sonny and Carly love each other and understood why Sonny did what he did. Jax doesn't like to hear her take his side. Sonny also wonders what her relationship with Jax is. Sonny thanks her for trying to help but refuses to let her take the fall for something he did and asks her to leave. Jax escorts her out. They head over to his place. He tells her that it is dangerous for her to get involved in Sonny's life at all and explains about his past rivalry with Sonny and how his ex-lover Brenda was involved with Sonny and he destroyed her life. Sam explains to him that she felt that she could somehow relate to Sonny's predicament when it happened and that she has no plans to get involved in his life again. They talk about her current situation financially and she tells Jax that right now Luke has taken over her yacht. He tells her that she owns that yacht and that Luke can only take over it if she lets him. She tells him that she doesn't have a plan on what she is going to do to make a great living other than salvage wrecked boats. Jax gives her advice. Sam goes to take a shower. When she comes out in her robe she calls to Jax but there is no answer. She finds a garment bag on the chair and a note attached that is addressed to her. She opens the card and it asks her to meet Jax in the conference room downstairs. She gets dressed up and meets Jax. He tells her he invited her to come down to discuss business and suggests that she would do well in his line of work. She is surprised when he turns a name plate around to show her name on it with the title of Vice President of J. & J. Jax Co. She thinks he is joking but he tells her he never jokes about money or business. She doesn't think she can do the job but he reassures her that she is smart and savvy enough to handle the job working for him and that she will learn as she goes along. She asks him what he does for a living. He tells her he deals with high-powered businesses and makes million dollar deals every day and the key is to bluff and make others think they are going to make a deal and not go through with it in the end. She accepts the job offer and they seal the deal with a passionate kiss.

Brian knocks on Courtney's door above in her room at Kelly's. He shows her the headline that says that Jason set off a bomb on the pier. He asks her to tell him what she knows about it. She denies she knows anything about it and that she isn't surprised by the headline because someone from the newspaper called her to get a comment from her. He tells her that Jason's life is too dangerous for her and that she should tell him what she knows so he can help Jason. She refuses to tell him anything and tells him that Jason couldn't have set off the bomb because he was with her at the time. He tells her that is not possible since he just saw her in her room right before and doesn't remember seeing Jason return to see her. She accuses him of stalking her. He tells her he isn't stalking her just looking out for her safety. Courtney doesn't budge and sticks to covering for Jason. After Brian leaves, Courtney calls the police station to talk to Jason. The cop that answers refuses to let her talk to Jason since he is being detained and refuses to give him a message unless she tells him what the emergency is. Courtney gets frustrated and hangs up. She heads to the police station in person and demands to see Jason. Brian comes in the room and tells the cop to let her by. Brian accuses her of lying about Jason's whereabouts but Courtney refuses to admit otherwise. Brian goes into the interrogation room and questions Jason about last night and what his alibi is. Courtney watches from the other side of the window into the room. Brian asks Jason where he was last night at the time that the bomb went off on the pier. Jason tells him that he was with his wife then. Brian can't believe Jason corroborates what Courtney tells him. Courtney gets to see Jason alone to talk. She asks him if he is o.k. and asks him what Brian asked him about. Jason tells her that he told Brian that he was with her at the time the bomb went off. Courtney is pleased that he corroborated what she told Brian. Courtney tells him that even though she has a hard time accepting what he does for a living she wants him to know she loves him and always will and that she never wants to see him in trouble or hurt. Carly shows up to talk to Jason. Jason tells her not to worry about him right now and the main thing to do is to help Sonny get out of this mess he is in. She tells him she has found a way that she can help Sonny but warns him he won't like it. Alcazar walks in. Carly explains to Jason that Alcazar will drop the charges against Sonny. Jason asks him what is in it for him and is suspicious. He tells him that he wants things to be on equal footing between him and Sonny but admits he is doing it because Carly asked him to. Jason doesn't see how Alcazar can help since there were a few cops around as witnesses to Sonny shooting him and taking Sam hostage. Alcazar explains that by dropping the charges, Sonny's lawyers can charge that the police tried to entrap him. Alcazar leaves Carly to talk to Jason. Alcazar tells Ric that he is dropping all charges against Sonny and that there shouldn't be a trial. Ric disagrees with him and says he can still subpoena him and use him as a hostile witness. Alcazar warns him about that and makes a remark about Liz as a way to subtly threaten him. Jason comes down hard on Carly for asking Alcazar for help knowing how Sonny will feel about that when he finds out. He tells her that Sonny will never allow Alcazar to do him any favors. Carly insists she is just using Alcazar to keep Sonny out of prison so he can help her raise their children. She ends up going to the hospital to tell Sonny what she did. Alcazar shows up at Sonny's room while they are talking. Sonny tells Alcazar that he won't allow him to help him and that he will take his chances on his own. Dara comes to see him later and advises him to take the plea bargain of serving 5 years in prison. He tells her that he can't go to prison because he has too many enemies there who will kill him. Dara tells him she thinks he should take it but promises to find some other strategy instead. Jason shows up to see Sonny. Sonny tells him he knows about what Carly did and that Alcazar is playing savior again for Carly's benefit and he won't let him. He tells Jason that Dara is too by the book for them to use right now and that he needs a lawyer who isn't afraid to fight dirty and be underhanded for them. Jason tells him he knows exactly who they need for his lawyer but only needs to find out where he is. The next scene shows an older monk talking to Justus Ward asking him if he is ready to take his vows of silence and give up his old life and be celibate for life. Justus answers that he is ready. Courtney returns to the police station and asks Brian if Jason is gone. He tells her he is. He accuses her of lying to him about being with Jason. She tells him that he needs to stay out of her marriage. He tells her that he felt connected to his wife the way that she feels connected to Jason and that his wife isn't around anymore but Jason is and he thought she would want to keep it that way. Carly talks to Alcazar later out near the waiting area. She tells him that she wants Sonny to stay out of prison and that her children need their father around. He tells her that he still plans to drop the charges against Sonny but that he will wait until trial to help get him exonerated when he takes the stand and that Sonny won't know about it until it is too late.

Tracy shows up at Jax's office to find him and Sam in a compromising position. Tracy is disgusted but tells him she is there to discuss a business proposition. She dismisses Sam from being present but Sam insists on being present. Tracy tells him that she has another business venture after Sam ruined the other one by losing the cards and the gambling rights to Luke. Tracy tells Jax and Sam that AJ has managed to ruin ELQ. within the weeks he has been CEO and that the company is ripe for takeover. She suggests that she wants to raid the company and wants Jax to pay for the takeover and take 50% of the profit and allow her to be CEO and receive the other 50%. Jax asks Sam for her opinion. Sam tells Tracy that she is expecting Jax to foot the bill but only wants to give him 50% of the profits if it is successful. She tells her that Jax she at least get 75% of the profits and that she should not be allowed anywhere near the CEO position. Jax thinks Sam has a point. When Tracy realizes that Sam's opinion has been taken seriously by Jax, she gets nasty and tries to insult Sam more for being a gold-digger. Tracy storms off. Meanwhile, Luke hires construction workers to start remodeling the yacht. Faith and Zander show up on his yacht. Faith asks him what he is doing spending all her money. Luke and Skye look up in surprise. Faith claims that she hid the $500,000 under the loose floorboard and that it is hers. She insists that because he used a big portion of her money to fix up the yacht she is now his partner in the casino. She also tells him that because she had her own illegal gambling thing going on at the Cellar, he is cutting into her profits that way by setting up his casino, which will be legal since he has the gambling rights in Port Charles. Luke refuses to be partners with her and tells her that since the money was on his property it belongs to him. She points to Skye and asks him what she has to do with his casino. He tells her that Skye is the exception to his rule on partners. Faith tells him she will leave for now and tells Zander to come with her. Zander questions why she is leaving and giving up so soon. She reminds him that she is his meal ticket and he takes off with her. Skye starts to get scared for their safety since she knows that Faith killed most of the members of the five families and won't hesitate to kill them too. Luke tells her that Faith isn't giving up and that he is going to protect himself the best way he can. He takes out his shotgun. Skye is worried that he is underestimating Faith and what she can do to them. Luke tells Skye to leave the yacht and stay out of the line of fire and let him take care of things. She takes off and goes to ask Jax for help. Sam is there still. Skye tells Jax the situation with Faith and how she needs to borrow $500,000 to pay back Faith and that she can't trust Luke to give in to Faith himself. She promises to pay him back. Sam tells her that her loan is full of risks and recommends to Jax not to give her the money. Skye can't believe Sam's attitude after she put in a good word for her to Jax. Sam tells her that she not only took her boat away but also her partnership with Luke away and that the one person she can't take away from her is Jax. Jax tries to stop a war between the women over him. Skye tells Sam that she has no interest in any man that has been with her already and storms out. Skye heads to the pier and drops something from her purse. She bends down to pick it up and some tough looking goon steps on the item she dropped. Meanwhile, Luke calls up Lucky and tells him to bring some men for protection at his yacht. Lucky shows up with two other uniformed cops to see what he wants. Luke tells him that he has never asked cops for help with anything in his life and it burns him to do so now but he needs them to protect his yacht while goes to see about something. He leaves donuts and coffee for them. Lucky asks him what this is about. Luke only tells him that the local mob has put a bull's-eye on his yacht and he wants the cops to do their job and protect it. After Luke leaves, the cops make a remark about how Luke is a nutcase and who he is. Lucky informs them that Luke is his father and that for him to ask the cops for help means he is serious about the threat. Luke goes to see Sonny at the hospital. He asks him to help him deal with Faith Roscoe for him. Sonny informs Luke that he is no longer in the mob business. Luke guesses that he did it for a woman. Sonny agrees that it has to do with Carly and his children. Luke tells him he needs to know everything he knows about Faith so he can deal with her himself. Sonny advises him not to underestimate Faith and to not drink anything she pours for him or brings him to drink. Luke thanks him and wishes him well. Luke returns to his yacht and thanks Lucky and the cops for protecting his boat while he was gone. Lucky tries to get through to Luke about how he didn't become a cop upset him and offers to help him if he would tell him who is after him. Luke refuses to open up to him and dismisses him. Lucky and the cops leave. The other two cops ask Lucky if they should be leaving Luke alone right now. Lucky tells them that his father wishes to be alone so they will go. Faith shows up after they leave. She has a red scarf in her hand and she makes drawing on the glass mirror with her lipstick while Luke points the shotgun at her. She brings over some bottles of champagne. Luke tells her that someone warned him not to drink anything she gave him. She tells him he better go up on deck right now and swirls the red scarf around that looks familiar to him. He gets up on deck to find Skye being tied to a chair on the edge ready to be dropped overboard if Faith wants to. Faith insists he cooperate with her or Skye will be dropped.

Carly comes over to see Sonny in his room. He wakes up to find her watching him. Scott shows up to inform them that the doctor feels Sonny is ready to be released from G.H. later today and that he has a nice small cell ready for him when they transfer him to jail. Scott tells them that Ric told him that Sonny is claustrophobic so he will make sure he gets the smallest cell. Carly tells him that is a form of cruel and unusual punishment since he knows Sonny is claustrophobic. Scott tells them that he doesn't care what Sonny wants and never did and storms off. Carly goes to follow Scott out. Sonny calls out to her to leave him alone. Carly finds Courtney coming around the corner on her way to see them. Carly tells Courtney that Ric told Scott that Sonny is claustrophobic and that Scott managed to get him released today be sent to jail. Courtney tells her she will see what she can to and talk to Brian. Carly goes back in to see Sonny. Sonny suggests that she lean against the door and let him make a run for the door and slam his arm against it to cause further injury so the doctors will have to let him stay longer. Carly doesn't want him to get more injuries and asks him to trust her to take care of things even if he has no reason to. Carly goes to talk to Bobbie while Courtney waits to talk to Brian who is setting up Sonny's transfer to the jail. Courtney asks him for help and insists she doesn't know where Jason is right now. She tells him that Ric told Scott that Sonny is claustrophobic and now Scott is rushing to get Sonny released today. She tells him that she needs his help and that she loves her brother even if he thinks of him as being on the other side. Brian agrees to try to get the doctors to wait awhile before releasing Sonny right away. Brian talks to Scott about keeping Sonny in the hospital longer since his injury isn't healed enough. Scott tells him that he is not doing Sonny any favors and that he is being released today. Brian looks over at Courtney who is waiting in the hallway and nods his head no to the release delay. Carly looks over at Courtney who shakes her head no too. Carly asks Bobbie for help in delaying Sonny's release. Bobbie thinks she should not interfere and let Sonny get out of his own messes this time. Carly tells her she can't sit by and watch Sonny go to jail for something that she is partly responsible for. Meanwhile, Jason goes to the monastery to see Justus. He assumes that Justus is there to be a lawyer for the monastery. The older monk tells him that isn't exactly the case and opens the door to Justus' room. Jason looks in and is can't believe it when he sees Justus dressed as a monk sitting on his bed. Jason is left alone with him. Justus stays silent like he vowed to and Jason asks him what is going on. Justus doesn't answer him so Jason tells Justus that he checked up on his activities since he left Port Charles and knows about the kid who he defended in court for murder, which he lost and how he thinks he is punishing himself too much by becoming a monk. Jason tells him that he knows why he is doing this and to him it is just another way of hiding from his life and that no matter whether he takes a vow of silence or what, he can't escape his past. Justus finally speaks and tells him that he compromised his morals too much and that his drinking got so heavy that he ignored the man he was defending and that by the time he tried to fix it, it was too late. Jason tells him that he isn't the person he thought he was if he continues to hide from his life by being a monk and walks out. Carly and Bobbie show up at Sonny's hospital room. Bobbie tells him that she is going to give him a mild sedative to ease his transition to jail. Sonny allows her to give him a shot but doesn't think it will matter. Later, Jason shows up at G.H. to find Courtney waiting for him. She tells him to hurry because Scott is going to transfer him to jail right now. Jason and Courtney head over to Sonny's room right behind Scott and some cops, including Brian. Scott comes in the room to find Sonny's bed made up with no sign of Sonny. Jason comes in the room with Courtney. Scott accuses Jason of hiding Sonny somewhere and orders the cops to arrest him. Courtney tells Scott that Jason just got here and he knows as much as she does, which is nothing. When the cops go to arrest Jason, a voice is heard behind them. Justus walks in and surprises everyone, but pleases Jason when he is dressed in a suit and tie and tells Scott that nothing has changed since he left Port Charles -- the police continue to falsely arrest and harass Jason and Sonny on a daily basis. Brian asks Scott who that man is. Scott informs him that is Justus Ward, another black sheep of the Quartermaine family. Justus looks at Scott and says that in a way he is a black sheep. On a private plane, Carly sits on a couch with a drugged Sonny, who wakes up feeling a little dizzy and disoriented. He asks her where they are. Carly tells him that Bobbie must have given him too much of a sedative and he may still feel drowsy. Sonny is amused to learn that Bobbie helped them by drugging him. Carly tells him that Bobbie helped her get him out of the hospital without anyone knowing it. She tells Sonny that this means they are on the run together.
