Fan favorite General Hospital actress Amanda Setton (Brook Lynn Ashton) has been off the canvas and on maternity leave since August of 2020, but she has finally returned to the ABC soap opera!
Soap Central received confirmation from GH about the actress' upcoming return as Ned's (Wally Kurth) daughter, which is set to happen this March.
Though Setton has been absent since last summer, Port Charles shenanigans continued to include Brook Lynn with actress Briana Lane briefly playing the role. However, Lane's version of the character left town in November 2020, possibly pregnant with Valentin's (James Patrick Stuart) baby. So, that means there is likely to be plenty of drama when Setton returns to the canvas!
Amanda Setton took on the role of GH's Brook Lynn in November of 2019. The ABC soap went on break in early 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, and the actress, who was pregnant with her third child, had to pass on reprising the role when the show resumed production in July.
"Despite being really excited and eager to jump back into GH, due to the many unknowns with COVID and expectant mothers, it was advised for us to wait it out," she told Soap Opera Digest at the time. "I love being a part of the GH family. It's not only a privilege to be a part of such a special legacy but it's downright fun! From the crew to the writers and executives and of course my fellow castmates, I have missed and will continue to miss my interactions and collaboration with all of them during this time."
The actress also promised that she was keen to get back to her GH role as soon as possible.
"Brook Lynn is a fierce, feisty, flawed, and lovable character -- with a heart of gold... She has a knack for always stirring up and getting into trouble but at her core she truly cares about her family and what's best for them," she enthused. "I will miss her, but only temporarily! Looking forward to stepping back into her shoes soon enough!"
