Paging Dr. Munro! Matt Cohen is scrubbing back into General Hospital, where he played the role of hot doc Griffin Munro from 2016 until 2019.
It's the most wonderful time of the year, but the sentiment suddenly means SO much more to General Hospital fans, because Matt Cohen is returning to the ABC soap opera as Dr. Griffin Munro.
The latest issue of Soap Opera Digest reports that Cohen will soon be checking back into GH when Dr. Munro offers his expertise on a case. Fans are already theorizing it will probably involve Griffin's former medical school pal, Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes), who was recently hospitalized with a brain injury after a terrible car accident.
SOD writes that Griffin will cross paths with some familiar faces when he pops back into Port Charles, including former flame Ava (Maura West), who has been dealing with grief since the death of her daughter Kiki (Hayley Erin). As fans know, Griffin also struggled with grief over Kiki 's death and decided that he needed to leave town last March to work on healing.

At this time, it's unclear how long Cohen will be sticking around on the GH canvas, but it'll likely be a short stint. As Soap Central previously reported, the actor is pretty busy, as he recently signed on as the new anchor and full-time correspondent of Entertainment Tonight.
In addition to his upcoming GH return, fans can look forward to seeing Cohen in the Hallmark Hanukkah-themed movie Holiday Date, scheduled to air on Saturday, December 14.
