Sexy Latino star Ignacio Serricchio saw his fair share of excitement as The Young and the Restless' dreamboat detective Alex Chavez and General Hospital's Diego Sanchez, but something tells us his next adventure may be just as wild. The Argentinian actor stars in Lost in Space, the new Netflix reboot of the classic 1960s series about a family stranded in outer space.
We first reported that Serricchio was working on the series back in December 2016 and we are just now getting more information. According to Netflix, the streaming service's updated version of the blast-from-the-past series takes place thirty years in the future, where colonization in space has become a reality, with the Robinson family serving as pioneers in that effort. Unfortunately, the family's adventure doesn't go quite as smoothly as they expected, and they become stranded far away from their destination and forced to fight to survive.
Molly Parker is set to play Maureen Robinson, a brilliant scientist and matriarch of the Robinson family. Parker Posey will play the enigmatic and dangerous Dr. Smith, and Serricchio plays Don West, described by Netflix as "roguish," "inadvertently charming" and "a highly skilled, blue-collar contractor, who had no intention of joining the colony, let alone crash-landing on a lost planet."
The original version of Lost in Space aired on CBS from 1965 to 1968. It starred Guy Williams, June Lockhart, Mark Goddard, Marta Kristen, Billy Mumy, Angela Cartwright, Jonathan Harris, Bob May, and Dick Tufeld.
The premiere date for Netflix's modern 10-episode relaunch is set for Friday, April 13. But a few lucky astronauts have already seen Serricchio in action in his new role: Netlfix provided the pilot to NASA in advance, and it was transmitted aboard the International Space Station in February.

Serricchio starred on Y&R from 2012 to 2014 before going on to star in shows like The Bay, Witches of East End, Zoe Ever After, Bones, and Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce.
