Michael Easton's three-year run as General Hospital's Silas Clay will soon be coming to an end, and the California native has taken to Facebook to bid fans a fond farewell.
"THIS IS HOW IT ENDS," the actor began in a short but sweet message geared toward soap viewers. "It always hurts to say goodbye. This sting is lessened because of the time I was able to spend with all of you. Not sure when our paths will cross again but in the meantime, my family and I extend our heartfelt thanks and blessings for all the support and kindness you showed us over the past three years. You made us feel loved and we send our love back to you."
In addition to this special thank you message, Easton is inviting fans to conduct his final GH interview. "A LAST GOODBYE... It seems only fitting for the final interview to be with the fans," he wrote. "Please submit any questions... at: firstname.lastname@example.org"
Easton isn't the only one commenting in his exit. Several of his costars have also shared their thoughts.
"Fan of #MichaelEaston," offered Nancy Lee Grahn on Twitter. "He's 1 of the most educated, intelligent, thoughtful, dignified, actors I've had pleasure of working with. #classact."
Michelle Stafford called Easton a "complete class act."
As Soap Central previously reported, Easton is making a dramatic exit from the GH canvas, one that leaves quite a few PC residents having to explain themselves.
The actor first appeared on GH back in 2012 as his former One Life to Live character, John McBain. He was later reintroduced as his former GH alter ego Stephen Clay's brother, Silas Clay, after ABC and Prospect Park entered into a lawsuit and his OLTL alter ego could no longer be used.
