Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda Barrett) has denied reports that she is mulling a return to General Hospital in the near future. "I have never once had any conversations with anybody [...] about coming back," says Marcil in an interview.

Marcil is also disputing the reports that she and Brian Austin Green are engaged to be married. Though Marcil is sporting an engagement-like ring, the actress claims that she and Green are not even an item. The man in her life, according to Marcil, is someone unknown to the public.

Last month, Soap Central reported on Internet rumors that Marcil and Green were expecting a child. A spokesperson for the actress had initially denied the reports, but Marcil has since confirmed that she is expecting a child. In confirming the pregnancy, Marcil also addressed the abuse she experienced as a child. "I am pregnant. And although I've been assigned to bed rest and don't feel very successful at pregnancy so far, I am proud to say [that] I'm bringing this baby into a household where he or she will never experience the violence I did," Marcil said in her official newsletter. Marcil's doctor-ordered bed rest is also apparently the reason why the actress had to cut short her appearances on NYPD Blue. Marcil recently appeared on the ABC cop drama's ninth season premiere episode.

Meanwhile, Marcil is awaiting word on whether or not she had landed several independent movie projects. For one of the roles, Marcil is said to have shaved off all of her hair. The second project will feature a lot of actors with roots in the hip hop community.
