General Hospital has tapped former Guiding Light star Kimberly J. Brown (ex-Marah Lewis) to play a mystery character that reunites her with some of her CBS soap co-stars.

Guiding Light alum Kimberly J. Brown (ex-Marah Lewis) is returning to the world of soap operas after a 15-year absence. The Maryland native has joined General Hospital in a mystery role.

"I am so excited," Brown enthuses to Soap Opera Digest about her new gig. "I started acting when I was five or six, and being on Guiding Light was such a highlight for me. I haven't done a soap since Guiding Light, so I'm just thrilled to be doing something in daytime again."

She continues, "It feels like going back to something that holds a special place in my heart, and to get to do it as an adult -- it's a different experience as an adult, but it gives you that nostalgia and all the great memories of when I was a kid working on the soap, which was just such a huge family. I loved working with everyone there."

Funny enough, Brown will have the opportunity to work with two super talented actresses on General Hospital that she shared the screen with on Guiding Light. Enthuses the actress, "Cynthia Watros [Nina Reeves, GH; ex-Annie Dutton, GL] was my stepmom for a bit, and Laura Wright [Carly Corinthos, GH; ex-Cassie Winslow, GL] played my aunt. It's such a small, cool world!"

Brown starred on GL from 1993 to 1998 and again in 2006. She earned a Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Younger Actress category for her work on the CBS soap opera in 1996 (when she was just eleven years old!). Her credits before that include The Baby-Sitters Club, Vampire Princess Miyu, Unhappily Ever After, Two of a Kind, and Rose Red. She also made history by being in three Broadway shows by the age of nine (Four Baboons Adoring the Sun, Les Miserables, and Show Boat).
