On Monday, May 5, an older man reportedly crashed his vehicle into Jennifer Aniston’s Los Angeles home. While the police did not confirm the resident's identity, People Magazine revealed that the property belonged to the Friends star after reviewing the records.

While the authorities haven’t revealed whether the collision was intentional or accidental, the Horrible Bosses actress is reportedly safe. It is not the first time Jennifer Aniston has made headlines due to an incident involving a stranger. More than a decade ago, the Bruce Almighty star was apparently stalked by Jason R. Peyton.

In 2010, an alleged stalker reportedly traveled across the country to marry Aniston. According to CBS News, Peyton, who was 24 then, spent days looking for the actress on Sunset Boulevard before the local police stopped him. After apprehending him, the authorities put him on an involuntary psychiatric hold until a court hearing.

Jennifer Aniston had to file for a restraining order against her alleged stalker

According to CBS News, Jason Peyton reportedly told the police about continuing his pursuit of the Marley & Me star. At the time, the actress was in London for the launch of her perfume. When she was asked about the case, the Murder Mystery star reflected upon the risks of being a celebrity (via BBC):

"I think the positives are always going to outweigh the negatives. Everything we can do creatively and everything we're able to do because of our public awareness affords us a lot of freedom to give back."

After the stalking incident happened, Leslie Bruce, who was a senior writer for The Hollywood Reporter, told CBS News:

"Jennifer Aniston said there's been ever-increasing harassment from Peyton to her, whereas she fears for her personal safety and those around her."

The actress got a restraining order against Jason R. Peyton in July 2010. Per the BBC, a court-ordered TRO was in place, which directed the alleged stalker to stay at least 100 yards away from Jennifer Aniston’s home. In August, the court granted Jennifer a three-year restraining order against Peyton.

According to Today, the police found Peyton with duct tape, a sharp object, and love letters addressed to The Break-Up star. At the same time, Jason reportedly believed he was also related to celebrities like Courteney Cox, Jennifer Lopez, Oprah Winfrey, Jay-Z, and Donald Trump, per BBC.

What happened to Jason R. Peyton after the restraining order was granted to the actress is unclear.

Jennifer Aniston was reportedly at home when a vehicle collided with the gate of her property

On Monday, police responded to a call about a “burglary suspect,” per CNN. A car crashed through the gate of The Morning Show star’s Bel Air residence around 12:20 pm. LAPD told People Magazine:

"There was a security guard on premises who was able to detain that suspect until officers arrived, at which time they took him into custody without incident. The resident was home at the time."

According to multiple outlets, the suspect was identified as a white male in his 70s. The authorities have yet to determine whether the incident was intentional or not.
