It's easy for a fan that watches the soaps every day to determine who was the best actor or actress on a particular show over the course of a year. However, in order to win an Emmy, a performer only has to put in two really good episodes in a calendar year. Is that fair? It depends on who you ask. Some critics have suggested that the media, the folks who watch every episode for their jobs, actually vote for the winners. Others say it is impossible to get a panel of judges to watch a year's worth of episodes.

General Hospital
Feb 1st: Metro Court is stormed by armed thugs. Robin is shot. Maxie is locked in a vault with Three.
Feb 5th: The Metro Court hostage drama continues. Monica and Skye collide over Skye's knowledge that Alcazar was involved in the situation.
Guiding Light
Jan 25th: Guiding Light celebrates its 70th anniversary with a special "throwback" episode.
Jan 31st: Springfield mourns the death of Tammy Winslow. Jonathan drives off a cliff to his death.
One Life to Live
Jun 18th: Prom Night: The Musical sequences. Also, Dorian throws David out of the house.
Aug 16th: Nigel tells the Buchanan family that Asa passed away in his sleep. Family members return to Llanview.
THE Young and the Restless
May 14th: Genoa City learns that Nick died in the crash of a Newman jet. Nikki blames Victor for Nick's death.
Oct 23rd: The collapse of the Clear Springs parking garage. Noah Newman is rescued from the rubble.
