OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES

The Young and the Restless

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR

Maurice Bernard (Sonny, GH). Sadly enough, I think the Emmy will go to Maurice, though I feel he does not deserve it. His performances this year have been stale, predictable and dull. I think the gold should go to Roger Howarth (ATWT). He is a phenemonal actor!

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS

Tamara Braun (Carly, GH). Tamara has truly grown as an actress.. And she had a killer year. Yes, the writing on GH is horrible, but she ran with the material and made it work.

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR

Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing, General Hospital). Rick is a wonderful actor who brings so much mystery and zest to Ric. He makes the audience root for him.

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS

Kathy Brier (Marcy Walsh, One Life to Live). Marcy is just a ray of sunshine and Brier has done a compelling job dealing with Al's death. She realistically portrayed a woman coping with life after Al and letting another man into her life.. And the woman can sing!

OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTOR

Scott Clifton (Dillon Quartermaine, General Hospital). This young man is a terrific actor.. He has brought so much vulnerability and coolness to the role of Dillon Quartermaine. He is a young James Dean.

OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTRESS

Eden Riegel (Bianca Montgomery, All My Children). Eden gave a gutwrenching performance as a rape survivor, lead suspect in a murder investigation of Michael and honest portrayal of a mother mourning the loss of her child. This gal can act!

OUTSTANDING WRITING IN A DRAMA SERIES

All My Children. AMC has been consistently good this year. But it should win best soap and writing solely due to Bianca's storyline and Eden Riegel's gutwrenching performances. Extra kudos goes to the writing team of AMC who not only wrote about Bianca's pain, but the effects it had on her family and friends.
