When Chloe asks Brady about the note he looks at it and says he didn't write it; he points the finger at Philip who does not deny writing it! Philip claims he did it so Chloe wouldn't worry so much. Chloe and Philip argue over the way he treats her like a child. Chloe is pissed because all of this has resulted in Dr. Sykes leaving town and now they may never find him. Philip tells Chloe and Brady that Nico is looking for Dr. Sykes and they both freak out! They explain that Dr. Sykes is in the Witness Protection Program and Nico's search may drive Sykes underground. The yelling is interrupted by the sheriff's appearance. He gives Brady his keys and turns to Philip saying that they need to talk. Philip sends Brady and Chloe out ahead of him; they listen from the hall. The sheriff lays into Philip over the entire debacle not knowing that Brady and Chloe can hear. The two burst back into the room demanding to know what is going on. Feeling his work is done, the sheriff leaves Philip to explain (and suffer the consequences) everything to Brady and Chloe.
Nancy frets over not being able to get in touch with Chloe. Colin interrupts and informs Craig that Nicole is now awake. Craig leaves to check on her. When Craig gets to her, Nicole is talking to Brandon about Sami. She wants to finish what she has to say, but Brandon and Craig both insist that she be checked over first. Nancy tries to keep busy but she's too distracted. She ends up pouring her heart out to Maggie who manages to lift Nancy's spirits a little. Once alone with Craig again Nancy confesses her guilt over all her negative feelings about Chloe's illness. Nancy feels she's being punished for "abandoning" Chloe. Craig reminds Nancy it is Chloe who is suffering and that he too feels helpless as he is a doctor and can't do anything to help his own daughter. They pledge to help Chloe anyway they can.
Tony refuses to give Sami the pictures of Nicole and Colin unless she agrees to do him another "favor." He gets her to agree to find out as much as she can about the goings on at the hospital. This includes spying on Marlena which she isn't crazy about. As Tony hands over the pictures he warns Sami there will be dire consequences should she not come through for him. Once she is gone Colin comes in through another door. Tony shows Colin the drawing of the key. Colin tells Tony what he knows about the recent events in the hospital basement and says that he has doubts Sami will be able to get any info. Tony manages to match the drawing Sami gave him to the pattern on the pillow Marlena returned to him; the Gemini constellation!
At the hospital Sami shows up while Nicole is talking to Brandon. She lets Nicole see the pictures. Nicole feigns sleep so Brandon will leave. After Brandon leaves, Sámi gloats over her possession of the pictures. Sami says she'll show them to Victor unless she is allowed to date Brandon. Nicole counters by saying that she'll let everyone know Sami tried to kill her twice! She also adds that Victor won't care about a simple kiss after almost losing her forever. The meeting ends in a stalemate. Sami leaves wondering if the pictures are enough and Nicole wonders if the possible loss of Victor is worth crushing Sami...
Chloe orders Brady to leave her so that she can handle Philip after what he's done to them both. The two then argue about Philip's effect on Chloe as she claims that his love is suffocating her. Though she does concede that he was her first love, Chloe insists that she has moved on. When Philip starts to blame Brady, Brady insists that he listen to Chloe. Chloe asks him to leave and after he's gone, Brady assures Chloe they'll find her father or a donor who can help her. Roman brings Kate more flowers and urges her to open up to him about what's troubling her. He blames it on Stefano but she claims that she's simply trying to protect herself. Kate starts to tell him what she did but Lucas interrupts and both men leave her to herself. Lucas presses Sami to sign the custody papers but she slips away. Victor argues with Brandon about Sami, calling her a liar. Lucas joins in, badmouthing Sami and guessing that Nicole has plenty of tell him about Sami. Nicole finds herself strangling her nurse though she imagines that she's trying to wring Sami's neck. After she apologizes, Colin attributes her actions to her coma. Sami secretly tapes Nicole talking with Colin about their incredible love making. Victor finds them together and orders Colin to remove himself from Nicole's case. Sami shows off the tape she made casing Nicole to punch her. Victor and Brandon stop them from fighting.
Sami visits Nicole and demands she get Victor to back off about Brandon and hand over both incriminating tapes. Nicole refuses; Victor and Brandon enter and Sami dodges into the bathroom. Victor urges Nicole to reveal what Sami did to incite her last night, but Sami dangles the tape and Nicole buckles to one of the demands. She tells Brandon and Victor that Sami wanted her to back off about Brandon, but she doesn't try to get the tape. Brandon's angry that Victor tried to pressure Sami, but Nicole takes the blame. Victor and Brandon leave and Sami comes out, furious that Nicole didn't ask for the tape. She convinces Sami that having Brandon is more important and that asking for the tape would only raise Victor's suspicions. Later, Sami feigns surprise when Brandon tells her everything Nicole confessed. He thinks Nicole and Sami are withholding information and he insists Sami tell him the whole truth...
Jennifer goes to the Salem Inn to talk to Colin and is surprised to see Jack there. He tries to convince her to give up the charade and pulls her aside when they see Tony arrive. Tony reprimands Colin for brushing him off and tells him not to get too involved with Nicole or Jennifer. He reveals Colin was meant to get close to Jennifer in Africa to have good references for a job at University Hospital, but now that he has that job, he's not supposed to be involved with her anymore. Jennifer, charged from her conversation with Jack, barges in on Tony and Colin and pumps Tony for information. Tony leaves and Jennifer comes onto Colin; he doesn't believe she really wants to be intimate, so she pulls him into a kiss. Meanwhile, Jack decides to get to Colin via Tony and boldly follows him into the limo. Jack pitches the idea of doing a series of articles on the new house of DiMera; Tony, with his own agenda, agrees to let Jack move into the mansion...
Lexie comes to the hospital to see Brandon after learning that Nicole is reviving from the coma. Abe is there to question Nicole; when he sees Lexie, they fight about their divorce proceedings. She hates it that Abe is distracted by Fay; Lexie gets Fayealone and subtly lets her know that Abe is not available. He overhears and admonishes Lexie, who is enraged when Abe takes Fayeoff for coffee... Tuesday, September 17, 2002
Lucas tracks Sami down and tries to get her to sign joint custody papers, threatening to use Will's recorder to play the tape with all her lies. Sami grabs the recorder and takes off while Lucas isn't looking. Meanwhile, Victor and Brandon argue about what's going on between Nicole and Sami. Victor leaves as Lucas walks up and ribs Brandon about Sami. Nicole has a nightmare about Sami and takes it out on a nurse, who pages Colin. Sami spots Colin as he's about to enter Nicole's room and sneaks in before him. She hides and records Colin and Nicole's conversation, including his confession that they'd slept together! Nicole threatens to slap Colin, but Victor walks in and is unsettled; he takes Colin outside and tells him he's off Nicole's case. Back in the room, Sami comes out of hiding and reveals that she taped everything. Nicole snatches the recorder from Sami, throwing it out the window. Unfortunately, Sami pulled the tape beforehand. Nicole slugs Sami just as Victor re-enters with Brandon; they try to find out what's going on, but Nicole can only rage some more, forcing Brandon and Victor to have her sedated and restrained...
Chloe stops Brady from beating Philip long enough to have him explain. Philip claims he was trying to save Chloe, but she tells him he was only trying to possess her. She realizes she needed Philip to forget about her illness, but finally tells him that it's over between them. As difficult as it is, Chloe asks Philip to leave; Brady urges Philip to accept what Chloe's saying and Philip leaves. While Brady watches over Chloe as she falls asleep, Philip vents his anger by throwing his fist through a wall...
Roman brings Kate flowers to replace the ones she refused earlier. He presses her to confide in him about her history with Stefano, but she only tells him that Stefano didn't do anything to her - she did it herself. Lucas interrupts, shocked to see Roman in an intimate moment with his mother. Kate shuts down on both of them, asking them to leave. Roman tells Lucas to give Kate some space, while Kate curses Stefano, promising she'll never forget...
Lexie announces to Abe and Mickey that she plans to contest the divorce, telling Abe that he will have to dip into his pension before the court proceedings are over. Cameron Reese will be her lawyer once she returns from a sunny beach vacation. Abe asks her if she is crazy, she replies that she is crazy about her husband and leaves. Mickey tells Abe that he can hold the divorce papers until he is ready; Abe says file them, he still wants a divorce. Lexie heads home and visits with Celeste. She is excited about Cameron representing her and tells her mother that Cameron will use stall tactics until she can win Abe back. Because of Celeste's paranormal abilities, Lexie asks her help in bringing Abe back to her. Celeste refuses saying Abe has suffered enough, but she will be there for emotional support.
John calls Shawn and Belle to the house where he tells them that Marlena hasn't come home, due to her new job with the twins, then surprises Shawn and Belle by taking them to see Cassie and Rex at the hospital. The twins' room has been redecorated with posters, colorful bed sheets, desks, and laptop computers, almost dorm room style. Cassie and Rex jump up and rush to hug Shawn and Belle. John and Agent Specter give them time alone, but watch through the two-way mirror. Belle and Shawn are surprised again, by the twins' improved speaking. Apparently Marlena hypnotized them and they remembered how to speak, read, and spell to some extent. Unfortunately, the only other memory they have is being locked in a room (the white room we see in flashbacks) and of the mysterious man telling them "Good Night, Sleep Tight, Don't let them bed bugs bite." They asked Shawn and Belle what will happen to them. They have no family and no home. Rex asks, "Who are we?" Then the twins show Shawn and Belle their tattoos, and because of John, know that DiMera put it on them. Shawn and Belle tell the twins not to worry, DiMera is dead and they would be their families, Belle saying you don't have to be blood related to be a family. Meanwhile, John asks Specter when he can see Marlena. Specter tells him it could be awhile and that Marlena requested John to bring several change of clothes. John isn't very happy and heads home calling Bo to meet him there. John tells him that the kids are visiting the twins and like the others, Bo isn't bothered by it, claiming Shawn is a good judge of character. John tells him about the tattoos, which surprises Bo, but he reminds John that Stefano is dead.
Jennifer and Colin are getting romantic in his room. Colin tells her that he loves her. Jennifer wants to know the truth about Colin and Africa. She tells him that he has to trust her. Love and trust are together. The "truth" that he gives her is that he was basically a babysitter for her hired by Bill. Jennifer is furious, she tells Colin she knows that her father was having an affair, she is familiar with the signs and that Colin his disgusting for covering for her father. Colin says that wasn't all, Bill was being a doctor and an advocate for women and children that no one cared for or gave any hope too. Jennifer began to see her father in a new light and calls him telling Bill she is proud of him and promising to give Abby a hug. She tells Colin that maybe she was wrong about him and that he brought her father back in her life. As they try to get comfy, Colin's phone rings, an emergency and he must go. He tells Jennifer again that he loves her. As Jennifer leaves she wonders if she was mistaken about Colin all along.
At the Spectator, Jack summons Bo and wants him to barge into Colin's room and save Jennifer. Bo refuses saying that Jennifer will not sleep with Colin for a story. Jack is afraid that Jen is running because she hates him. Bo clues Jack in and tells him that Jennifer loves him and that's why she runs. Jack drops another bombshell by announcing that he is moving into the DiMera mansion, "to get an exclusive story on the DiMera family." Bo is shocked. Jack calls Harold over to tell Jennifer that he is on assignment, but doesn't tell him what kind. Harold eavesdrops on Jack and Bo's conversation, learning exactly where Jack is going. When Jennifer returns to the office, he informs her of Jack's plan. Jennifer doesn't believe it, but Harold confirms the facts, Jack is moving in as we speak.
At the DiMera mansion, Lexie is dumbfounded when Jack shows up at the door ready to unload his luggage. He tells Lexie he is doing an exclusive article of how Tony wants to change the reputation of the DiMera family, the truth, no holds barred. Tony had another comatose moment in the limo; Bart called Colin who met them at the house. Before regaining consciousness, we see into Tony's mind. He is in a white room, laying on a hospital gurney, a voice above is saying, "Congratulations Tony, Your future has arrived, your future has arrived." Colin is shocked to see Jack. Tony tells him about the story and that he will hold nothing back, laying out the family secrets. Jack smugly tells Colin that he will be looking at his secrets as well...
Chloe assured Brady that she doesn't regret breaking up with Philip.
They decided to stop talking about Philip and concentrate on how to
find her father. Brady devised a plan to lure Chloe's father to come
out of hiding. They pretended to leave town, then camped out on the
woods outside of town, to see if Chloe's dad would resurface.
Kate took cracks at Roman for reassigning Billie. Roman offered to
walk with Kate in the two and a half-mile walk for leukemia. Kate said
no thanks, but Roman did not seem deterred.
Craig and Nancy opened the "Light the Night" marathon fund-raiser for
leukemia. Abby, a bone marrow recipient when she was a baby, was the
honored guest and helped Belle and Shawn carry the banner for the walk.
Jennifer tried to call off Jack's mission to bring down Colin. She is
starting to believe Colin is legitimate. Jennifer told Jack about her
conversation with Colin. While they were arguing about it, Jennifer
realized they were late meeting Abby for the walk.
During the post-walk festivities, Jack confronted Colin about
his "boss" Tony. Jennifer told Jack to beat it, then Colin thanked
Jennifer for trusting him. When Victor and Kate had words, Roman came
to Kate's defense. Belle tried to reach Brady on his cell phone and
became alarmed when his phone was turned off.
Kate thanked Roman for walking with her in the marathon. Nancy and
Craig walked up and asked if Kate had heard from Philip. Wondering
what could be going on, they overheard Victor on his cell phone
saying, "How could Philip have done something so stupid?" Victor
found out that Philip had canceled his registration at Columbia
University for the semester. Philip showed up and reported that Chloe
had not come back to Salem with him. Nancy passed out into Craig's
arms.
Chloe and Brady turned in for the evening, in a one-man tent. Just as
they turned their backs on each other for a good night's sleep, a wolf
howled scaring Chloe into Brady's arms.
