Get ready for some serious drama, Days of our Lives fans, because Eve Donovan is on her way back to Salem! Portrayer Kassie DePaiva teases that she'll be back on the canvas later this summer.
DePaiva recently appeared in a One Life to Live reunion on The Locher Room, where she revealed, "I shot some episodes before Thanksgiving last year and in January of this year." Due to the NBC soap opera's advanced shooting schedule, that means fans can likely look forward to Eve's return in July or August.
As Soap Central previously reported, Eve left Salem in 2019, during the show's New Year's celebration. Eve had been in prison for pushing Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) off a balcony but was cleared of all charges when it came out that Princess Gina (Kristian Alfonso) had been responsible for Jennifer's fall.
Upon her exit from DAYS in December, DePaiva said that Eve isn't exactly the easiest character to play -- or for the writers to write.
"Eve is an interesting and challenging character to bring to life," DePaiva said. "As you know, actors don't get to write their own storylines. It is always a challenge and a delight to open the scripts and see where the writers are taking the story. My hope is that you enjoyed the journey because I certainly did."
DePaiva took on the character of Eve Donovan in 2014, having previously won the hearts of daytime fans as OLTL's Blair, which she played from 1993 to 2013, and Guiding Light's Chelsea Reardon, which she played from 1986 to 1991. Prior to her 2019 exit, DePaiva had been written off the canvas in 2016 and returned that same year, and she left town during Halloween of 2018 but returned on New Year's Eve.
Eve isn't the only character making her way back to Salem this summer. As Soap Central recently reported, Claire [Olivia Rose Keegan] will soon be released from Bayview, and Belle [Martha Madison] and Shawn [Brandon Beemer] will be back on the canvas with her. Alison Sweeney is also set to bring Sami Brady back home to Salem in August.
