Days of our Lives is back in the game with some serious oomph these days, from the return of fan favorites like Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) and Louise Sorel (Vivian Alamain), to nabbing über popular General Hospital star Tyler Christopher (ex-Nikolas Cassadine), to scheduling a slew of super soapy stories under its new head writer, Ron Carlivati.
Fans haven't been able to stop buzzing about the changes, and NBC executive Jennifer Salke is also excited to dish on the long-running soap opera.
"We're really feeling great about the new team in place, and we're evaluating it as it goes," she said of the soap's future during the Television Critics Association (TCA) summer tour. "Right now, we've been so focused on the fall and making all these [new] shows. We love the new DAYS, and we hope it stays on the schedule forever... Everyone is feeling good."
Carlivati's material began airing in July, and the writer promises plenty of juicy storylines involving the show's major vets. For a sneak peek at what he says is in store, click here.
