DAYS' Billy Flynn on the extremes he'd take to land a role

Days of our Lives' Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera) opens up about how far he's willing to go for an acting gig. Be forewarned: his bold answer may surprise you!

It's not uncommon for actors to have to jump through some pretty extreme hoops to land a dream role, which leads to the question of how far some of your favorite daytime actors would go to land the role of a lifetime. Soap Central caught up with Days of our Lives' star Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera) to see where he would draw the line when it comes to landing a great part -- and it turns out the daring actor is willing to take some pretty big risks for the right project.

"I guess short of hurting people, I would do a lot if I thought that the role was great," he reveals. "Obviously I wouldn't hurt anybody, but for me myself, I'm fair game."

Of course, as he explains, that's slightly within reason.

"I read something about Shia LaBeouf [auditioning for his role in the 2013 Lars von Trier film] Nymphomaniac, and when he did the part, I guess he had to send a picture of just his unit. That's kind of extreme! But I would do that if I wanted the part," Flynn admits. "Just short of affecting an actual relationship, I guess. But even then, who's to say, once you're in the role, if it's a really dark role, once the role is yours, you have to. You have to be willing to go as far as you can go."

As DAYS fans know, Flynn approaches his soap role with that attitude, as well. In fact, his unabashed dive into Chad's dark place following Abigail's mental breakdown landed the young actor an Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Lead Actor category last year. And if he keeps it up, he's surely bound for a win in the top honors category, as well.

What do you think about the extremes Flynn is willing to take for a great acting job? How far would you go to land the role of a lifetime?
