Beloved actor Greg Vaughan is returning to Days of our Lives this week during the Tuesday, January 17, episode. But he teases his popular alter ego, Eric Brady, won't exactly be the old character many fans expect.
As viewers of the show may recall, Eric was sent to prison for a drunk-driving accident that killed Dr. Daniel Jonas (Shawn Christian) last spring, and the experiences he's lived through in lockup the past half year have made him a changed man.
"Eric Brady from Prison to Salem, but his Return @nbcdays may be darker than [you're] ready for? Or are you?!" Vaughan teased on Twitter along with a photo of himself looking rather scruffy (or shall we say prison fresh?).
Vaughan last aired on the NBC soap in April, but fans have been able to keep watching him on television due to his role as Calvin on OWN's Queen Sugar. He announced his return to DAYS in September.
"I've always been proud of my time and the work I contributed to DAYS, and I was excited at the opportunity to reunite with the cast and crew," he said at the time. "I feel my job as an actor is about more than just stepping on stage and taking a role. I'm trying to create a presence that resonates for myself and the core of Eric Brady. I feel Eric's journey will have a huge and impactful return!"
What do you think about the possibility of a much darker Eric Brady on the canvas? What kind of stories are you hoping pan out for Vaughan's character in the months ahead? We want to hear from you -- and there are many ways you can share your thoughts.
