Days of our Lives' A Martinez (Eduardo Hernandez) clarifies his status and new “flexibility” in Salem.

Fans of Days of our Lives star A Martinez (Eduardo Hernandez) may be disappointed to know that he has been dropped to recurring status with the NBC soap, but he shares that the move was actually his own decision.

The popular actor took to Facebook to clarify what's been going on behind the scenes. "Much gratitude for all the Hernandez Love these last couple of days," he wrote. "Wonderful work from everyone on the stage, and some lovely writing and direction as well. To clear up a couple of misapprehensions: Eduardo will return; and the character's move to 'recurring' status was my wish. I love the family and love the show, but need the flexibility the change allows. There's more to come, and a lot of it is extremely compelling."

Martinez, who's also known to daytime audiences as Santa Barbara's Cruz Castillo, General Hospital's Roy DiLuca, One Life to Live's Ray Montez, and The Bold and the Beautiful's Ramon Montgomery, joined DAYS in 2015.

Are you disappointed that Martinez requested to be dropped to recurring status at DAYS? What do you think about his decision? We want to hear from you -- and there are many ways you can share your thoughts.
