Rumors have been circulating for months that Wilson would soon be exiting the canvas, possibly as the next victim of the Necktie Killer. And now Serial Scoop confirms that Wilson's Will is indeed leaving the soap -- in a tragic way.
Meanwhile, Jason 47 reports that Smith will briefly return to the show as Sonny in October, which seemingly coincides with Will's on-screen death. As fans may recall, Sonny took off to Europe last month, claiming he needed a break from his husband. But something tells us he won't be prepared for the permanent break he'll soon have to face.
soapcentral.com recently spoke with Camila Banus, who returns to the canvas as Will's ex, Gabi Hernandez, on Thursday, September 17. When we asked how Gabi, who's just been released from prison, might react to something tragic happening to Will (with whom she shares a child), she replied, "That would be very difficult for her, I imagine, because imagine hoping for something for a very long time, pretty much in a hole, and then finally being out in the light and experiencing happiness, and then having it taken away. That would be very difficult for her, and not only for her, but for the remainder of her child's life."
At this time, DAYS has not commented on Wilson's exit or Smith's return. However, rumor has it that Alison Sweeney's upcoming return to the show as Will's mom, Sami Brady, is also related to Will's on-screen death.
What do you think about Wilson's Will being killed off the show? Will you mourn the official end of WilSon? Would you like to see Smith's Sonny come back to the show full-time, or do you think there's no place for him in Salem without Will?
