The super-talented Alison Sweeney
) recently blogged on her web site about competing in the Pasadena Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon, which was all part of her training to run in More Magazine
's Half Marathon in New York on April 14. Sweeney hasn't been working alone, either. Her brother ran with her in Pasadena.
Sweeney wrote about the experience on her site: "It was so cool to run side by side with him for the whole 13.1 miles, and to have our parents cheering us on from the sidelines. We had a great day...in fact, we were feeling so amazing at the finish that we ran more after the race was over and turned it into a 20-mile training run."
The New York half marathon will be the largest women's-only half marathon in the country. More
magazines, in partnership with the New York Road Runners, anticipate 10,000 runners and spectators from around the world.
Prior to the race, thousands of women, including Sweeney and Brzezinski, More Magazine
Editor-in-Chief Lesley Jane Seymour, and Fitness Magazine
Editor-in-Chief Betty Wong will kick off the event with a special "Women Run the World" tribute to honor the 10th Anniversary of the race. Ten fearless game-changers who have paved the way for women over the last decade will be named.
