Christie Clark to reprise Carrie Brady

Christie Clark will reprise the role of Carrie Brady for an unspecified period of time beginning in February. The two-time Daytime Emmy nominee debuted as Carrie in 1986. Her most recent appearance was in June 2010.

Christie Clark (Carrie Brady) will return to Days of our Lives in the New Year. The fan-favorite actress was last seen on-screen earlier this year as part of the NBC soap's tribute to the late Frances Reid (Alice Horton).

Clark made her first Days of our Lives appearance in 1986 and remained with the show on a full-time basis through 1999, with a two-year hiatus starting in 1990. She returned to the show in 2005 before again exiting in 2006.

During her run on DAYS, Clark earned two consecutive Daytime Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Younger Actress category in 1997 and 1998.

For a brief time following the announcement of Clark's return, the Internet was abuzz with talk that former DAYS heartthrob Patrick Muldoon (ex-Austin Reed) might also be returning to the show. The chatter started when Alison Sweeney (Samantha Brady) posted on her personal Twitter account that she, Clark, and Muldoon were having lunch.

"I am sitting in the NBC commissary having lunch with Christie Clark & Patrick Muldoon," Sweeney posted. "It is still 2010, right?!"

After at least 24 hours of fast and furious fan speculation, Clark explained to Soap Opera Digest that Muldoon showed up at the commissary to make good on a dinner date that he'd skipped out on.

Clark will first air in February. Her return is currently slated to last just a short time.
