As some soaps trim their rosters of high-paid stars, Days of our Lives fans can find comfort in knowing that one of its best-known stars is staying put. Kristian Alfonso recently signed a new contract with the NBC soap. She made her first DAYS appearance in 1983.

Days of our Lives vet Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady) will be sticking around Salem for the foreseeable future. The actress has signed a new contract with the NBC soap.

"It's always nice to be invited back," Alfonso said of her new deal.

Alfonso debuted as Hope in 1983. She exited the show in 1987, but returned three years later for a series of appearances. It wasn't until 1994 that the actress made her full-time return to Days of our Lives.
