At the jail, Thorne stopped by to see Taylor, and she thanked him for standing up for her in court. He told her he missed her and admitted that he'd had to tell the truth when he had been on the stand because he knew that she had loved Darla and had never wanted to hurt her. Storm walked in and informed them that it was time to go to court. Even though Taylor thought she was going to prison, she told Thorne she could deal with it, since she had his support. Thorne told Taylor he didn't want to lose her too.

At the courthouse, everyone fearfully awaited Taylor's verdict. Taylor was found not guilty of vehicular manslaughter, and with Storm's expertise, all the other charges were dropped. Taylor only had to serve six months probation and community service. After leaving the courthouse, everyone headed to Taylor's to celebrate. Felicia commended Storm on his excellent defense.

Ridge thanked Thorne again for aiding Taylor. Thorne asked Ridge's permission to pursue Taylor romantically. Ridge said he was cool with it as long as Thorne didn't call her "Doc." Taylor made a speech telling everyone that she had learned that alcohol never solved problems. She thanked Storm for all his help and promised to honor Darla by trying to live an exemplary life from that moment on.

Taylor was excited to see Aly, and they shared a tender moment. The little girl asked Taylor about her trip to London, and Taylor promised to tell her all about it one day. Later when they were alone, Thorne carried Taylor's baggage up to her room. They agreed that one day, when Aly was old enough to understand, they would tell her the truth. Thorne proposed to Taylor again, and she accepted, thrilled that he still loved her after everything that had happened. They began to kiss passionately on the bed, and clothes started falling off.

Meanwhile at Massimo's house, Nick tried to help his mother get settled in. Donna walked down, and after introducing them, Nick told Jackie that Donna had been helping him get the house ready. Jackie was annoyed with all of Nick's coddling and told him she wanted to go back to work. Nick insisted that she needed help and had to take it easy in order to prevent a relapse. He wanted her to be ready to help when it was time for him to start running Forrester. Realizing the truth in his words, Jackie decided to rest.

When they were alone, Donna questioned Nick about what he'd meant when he'd said he would be running Forrester. Nick explained that he had given the Forresters a choice: either sell the company or take the chance that Stephanie might end up in jail. Donna thought he was being a little harsh, knocking all the Forresters out of their company. Nick felt justified after what Stephanie had done to his mom. He also thought Brooke would get over Ridge if Ridge didn't have a job at Forrester. Donna didn't think it would be that easy to keep Ridge and Brooke apart.

At home, the physical therapist worked with Jackie. Nick arrived and ordered the therapist to give Jackie more medication. He was told that it was by doctor's orders only that the medication could be changed in any way.

The Forrester family gathered at Forrester Creations to discuss giving up their shares of Forrester Creations in lieu of Jackie prosecuting Stephanie and the possibility of a jail term for Stephanie. Rick was flustered and decided Nick had lost his mind. Ridge told Rick that what Nick was doing was extortion.

Meanwhile at Marone Industries, Brooke tried to reason with Nick. She implored Nick not to go through with his plan to take the company away from the Forrester family. She kept explaining that the entire family shouldn't have to pay for what Stephanie had done.

Brooke told Nick that she wanted no part of his revenge plan to steal Forrester Creations. Nick would not change his mind and told Brooke that Stephanie would be held accountable -- either the Forresters would give up their company or Stephanie would go to jail. Storm arrived. Brooke was upset that Storm was representing Nick and Jackie in their plan to take away Forrester Creations.

At the same time, Stephanie paid Jackie a visit. Jackie flaunted that if Stephanie's company wasn't for sale, Stephanie's children would rather see her in jail. Stephanie tried to make Jackie see reality: Jackie had gone to Stephanie's house uninvited and had refused to leave when Stephanie had requested her to. Jackie did not care what Stephanie thought. She told Stephanie she was about to gain control of Forrester Creations.

Kristen, Rick, Felicia, and Bridget were all intimidated by Nick and afraid that Stephanie would be found guilty and have to go to jail. When Nick arrived with Storm and Brooke, Ridge told him to "go to hell." Eric unfortunately decided to sell the company.

At Forrester, Brooke pleaded with Nick to reconsider and not force the Forresters to give up their company. He told her he had no choice and couldn't ignore the fact that Stephanie had tried to kill his mother. Eric decided to sell Forrester, since saving Stephanie was more important than keeping the company. While Eric was signing Forrester over to Nick, the family sadly watched. He told Nick that he would never be able to run it successfully without the Forresters. The rest of the family had to sign the document as well.

Felicia slapped Nick and told him he was not the man she'd thought he was. Thorne agreed with his sister. Ridge warned Nick that he would live to regret that day. Nick gave them 48 hours to clean out their desks and leave the building. Eric told Nick he would run the company into the ground and end up with nothing. After they left, Brooke glared at Nick and told him he was not the man she had fallen in love with, and she was going to sell her stock because she didn't want to work with him.

Nick thought Brooke was overreacting, but she told him she was heartbroken and couldn't believe he'd had to pull the family into it. He told her everything could have been different with their marriage if she could have left the family out of it. Before she left, she told him they were over, and she didn't want him around her children anymore because she didn't want them exposed to his hostility.

At the hospital, Bridget was surprised to find that Shane was her patient. After she dressed his wounds, she told him she would like to run a few more tests. Shane wanted Bridget to tell Phoebe he would never hurt her and that he was happy that Taylor had gotten released. He told Bridget that Phoebe was an angel and the best thing that had ever happened to him.

At Massimo's, Jackie told Stephanie her bullying techniques had cost her family their company. Stephanie retorted that she felt no guilt for any of her actions. Stephanie became irate when Jackie accused her again of deliberately pushing her. Before things got out of hand, Donna burst in and told Stephanie not to touch Jackie. Jackie was glad to see Donna and said if it weren't for her, Stephanie might have gotten away with it. Stephanie thought Donna was just trying to get back at her. Before Stephanie left, she told them that Nick would never get her company.

In Eric's office, Ridge reassured Eric that they were Forrester Creations, and they hugged. Brooke walked in and told them that she'd sold her shares to Nick. Eric thanked her and gave her a hug. She smiled at Ridge while they were hugging. After Brooke and Ridge left, Stephanie walked in and was horrified to learn that Eric had sold the company. He explained that he had done it to protect her, and the children agreed. Stephanie thought it was the stupidest thing he had ever done, and she was furious with him for being such an idiot.

Meanwhile, in Ridge's office, Brooke consoled Ridge and told him they could start another company. She felt something wonderful had resulted from the day because she'd finally realized she was a Forrester. As she moved closer to Ridge, she told him he was unforgettable, and she wanted to spend her life with him. Ridge was ecstatic, and they shared a passionate kiss.

Back at Massimo's, when Nick got home, Donna told him that Stephanie had stopped by. He told her that he owned Forrester Creations. Donna thought it was great and couldn't believe that Brooke was siding with the Forresters. For Nick, it was a bittersweet victory, since it had cost him Brooke's love.
