Jackie says that it's for Brooke's own good that Ridge stay away from her. Ridge warns Jackie that she will not keep him from his wife again. Jackie points out that Brooke came home with Nick not Ridge. His marriage is over and he needs to accept it. Ridge certainly isn't going to take Jackie's word for it, but he can wait until tomorrow. Jackie is smug when Ridge asks her to tell Brooke that he came by, telling him not to think twice about it.

Nick offers to stay on the couch but Brooke would rather be alone. He comes downstairs to leave and is surprised to find Jackie still there. She is disappointed that Nick is not staying the night and Nick practically has to drag her out. Once they've gone, Ridge comes out from the shadows, takes out his key and enters Brooke's house. He goes upstairs and into her room. They are happy to see each other. Ridge tries to convince her that they belong together no matter how difficult the situation may get. The alternative, being apart, is unbearable. Brooke asks him not to try to make her question her decision. While at the retreat she listened to God's voice and she learned that the world does not revolve around her. She is trying to stop hurting the people she loves. Ridge reminds her of the way that they have always been able to be intimate with each other, and tells her that she will always have a place to be safe and loved. She insists that she gave up that right when she slept with Nick, but Ridge tells her that there isn't anything that they can't overcome.

Jackie is glowing when she comes home to Massimo. She is ecstatic about the fact that Brooke is showing in her pregnancy. Massimo is worried about Ridge. He is also saddened by the examples he's been setting in the family lately. He apologizes to Jackie for treating her like a bird in a cage. He gives her a key to symbolize her release. He promises not to let his jealousy rule him again

Ridge catches Brooke off guard and gives her a passionate kiss. She remains strong, pushes him away and maintains that they cannot give into their passion. Brooke explains that the retreat helped her realize her mistakes and how to prevent them from happening again. She is determined to raise her children with integrity and respect. Brooke reminds Ridge that his brother's child is growing inside of her and they have to accept what happened and move on. Samantha gets Nick to admit how excited he is about becoming a father. She agrees to help Nick redecorate Massimo's penthouse. He says that he will be there for the baby and Brooke whenever they need him. Massimo tells Jackie that he understands how lonely she has been lately and that he will make more time for her. Massimo reveals that Eric paid him a visit the night before and made him realize that his jealousy would tear Jackie and him apart. From now on, Massimo is going to concentrate on his family.

Massimo announces to Nick, Oscar and Jackie at breakfast that he no longer plans to take revenge on Eric and just wants to focus on his marriage. Nick feels that Ridge should have been at breakfast to hear what Massimo had to say. Jackie tells Nick that Brooke's future is with him and not Ridge. Massimo promises to be there for Nick, Brooke and the baby. Jackie heads over to Brooke's office, where she overhears Ridge tell Brooke that he will step down from Logan Designs. After Ridge leaves, Jackie offers Brooke some support and invites her over for a family dinner. Jackie explains that she just wants Brooke to feel welcome in their home. Sally visits Thorne and the baby. Although Sally has no sympathy for Brooke, Thorne tries to convince Sally that Brooke is a good person and that she has sacrificed a lot for the family.

Bridget visits Brooke at her office. Brooke is apprehensive about Jackie's dinner party. She doesn't want to raise their expectations about a relationship between her and Nick. Bridget tells Brooke that she is very proud of her for being so selfless for her child and that she has made the right decision. Brooke is not at that place of acceptance yet and can't imagine her life without Ridge.

At the Marone house, Jackie sees Nick in a suit and beams with joy. She gives Nick a classic, very expensive guitar as a gift. Nick starts to strum the song he wrote for Brooke and Jackie convinces him to sing a verse for her. Jackie is moved to tears and tells Nick that he must play the song for Brooke at the dinner party. Nick brushes her off and leaves to pick up Brooke.

Massimo goes into Ridge's office and tries to convince him to come to the dinner that Jackie is throwing. Ridge isn't interested and Massimo is asking too much. Besides, he's sure that Jackie wouldn't want him there anyway. Massimo reminds Ridge that the baby will be his nephew and Ridge responds that Jackie has been shouting it from the rooftops.

Just before going to the party, Bridget confides in Oz about Brooke's real feelings where Nick and Ridge are concern. Nick brings Brooke to the party and Jackie makes a speech in front of everyone about how happy Brooke has made Nick and how grateful she is. Brooke tells Jackie that she knows that Nick will be a great father and the two women embrace.

At Ridge's office, Eric shows up to check on him. Ridge is furious with Jackie for interfering with his relationship with Brooke. Eric has to agree that Brooke should be with Nick considering the baby. But Ridge insists that this is not right and that his gut is telling him that he and Brooke are being robbed.

At the Marones' dinner party, Jackie tells Bridget that she would be so happy if both Bridget and Brooke were to marry into the Marone family. Bridget avoids her eyes and simply smiles, aware that her mother is nowhere near over Ridge. At the dinner table, Jackie says grace, thankful for her family and especially the special baby that Brooke is carrying. And just as it was Nick that brought she and Massimo together, it will be this child that brings Brooke and Nick together. Brooke is fidgety and uncomfortable.

Jackie notices that Massimo is quiet and asks if he is all right. He comments that for all he success and wealth, that it is his new found family that has finally brought him happiness. Massimo turns to Brooke and acknowledges that they have had their differences, but that he is thankful to her for not turning the family upside down by pitting brother against brother. Brooke says that there is a hole in her heart that cannot be filled, but she has found her strength. She excuses herself to get some air on the terrace and Nick joins her. He apologizes if she is feeling pressured by his mother's enthusiasm, but Brooke is delighted that her child will have so much love and support. She thanks Nick for being so understanding about what she is going through. He tells her again how happy he is. That he sees things differently now, and that the way he life has changed in the last year has made him start to believe in miracles. He feels guilty about being so happy about the baby, but at the same time, feels that it would be a crime not to. The two embrace. Jackie spots them through the window and tells Massimo that Nick is finally going to get the family and happiness that he has needed for so long.

Eric comes to see Ridge at Marone industries. Ridge tells him that he's quitting Logan Designs until he can sort things out. He's decided to work at Marone Industries full time. Eric tells Ridge that he is an artist and should be designing. Eric wants Ridge to come back to work at Forrester Creations. He then tells Ridge about his current bought of designer's block and that he biggest collection is not coming along well.

Later Ridge goes to Logan Designs to clear out his things. Clarke is disappointed that he's quitting but understands why. Ridge tells Clarke that he just can't seem to give up on Brooke and the bond that is between them. She should be with him, having his baby. When Clarke leaves, Ridge flashes back to recent memories of him and Brooke. He takes his box of belongings, turns out the light, and leaves.
