Thanking her again for saving her job, Amber offers to help friend April a job at Forrester but April turns down the offer. She talks about her hopes to become a star in L.A. and capitalize on her fifteen minutes of fame, courtesy of every tabloid paper in town. Amber tries to warn April that it's not going to be easy to break into the music business but April continues to insist that she is good. Later, when Craig Kilborn's producer stops by to see Eric to thank him for the suits, April tries to convince him to have her on Craig's "Late, Late" show. Deacon's caught off guard when Brooke stops by his motel room. He apologizes for spoiling her night with Ridge but she insists he did no such thing and goes on to claim that her relationship with Ridge is stronger than ever. Brooke reveals that Ridge is getting dinner ready for her tonight and claims that she and Ridge are going to be a family. Ridge stops by Bridget's place and seeks her ear to talk about his identity and the confusion he has because of what he has learned from Massimo. He confirms that he hasn't told Brooke the truth but adds that he's having dinner with Brooke tonight, thanks to an invitation from Thomas. When Ridge admits how overwhelming it is, Bridget advises Ridge that in spite of his assurances, she still has romantic feelings for him. To prove her wrong, Ridge kisses her passionately.

Staring at each other after sharing a passionate kiss, Bridget and Ridge move in for seconds. Stumbling for words, Ridge then claims that their kissing obviously lacked any romantic spark. Bridget agrees that she "felt nothing" but the two find it awkward as they end the experiment. Ridge finally leaves for his dinner at home. An excited April announces to Amber and Rick that she approached the producer of Craig Kilborn's show to put her on the talk show. Amber guesses the producer lied about wanting her for the show and tries to ease her sister down but April remains confident she'll get the call. As she does, Craig's producer calls and invites her to appear on the show tonight. Brooke brings Hope for dinner and is surprised to hear from Catherine that Ridge isn't home yet. Thomas and his two sisters welcome Brooke with a collection of appetizers. Trying to shake off the after effects of the kiss, Ridge enters his home and is pleased to see Brooke with the kids. C.J. finds Bridget in a daze and learns that she's reacting to a couple of kisses from Ridge. She goes on to explain her "experiment" for romance and calls it a success, like "fireworks on the 4th of July, times ten." Ridge suddenly calls to make sure she's okay. Brooke overhears him tell someone on the phone that the kiss caught him off guard. Bridget again lies that the kiss was just a kiss. After he hangs up, Brooke confronts Ridge and demands to know who he has been kissing.
Asking Ridge about the kiss he mentioned during his phone conversation, Brooke presses him to name the lucky lady. He evades her questions until she claims that it doesn't matter since she knows how upset he was with her. The two hop into the hot tub for a few minutes and when they emerge, Brooke asks if his mystery lady friend has had fun with him in the tub. He reminds her that she claimed she didn't need to know who that woman is and then apologizes to Brooke for being hard on her lately. Ridge also admits that he's been distracted lately but won't tell her why his life has gotten so complicated. The two then fall into bed. When C.J. tells Bridget that she must follow through with her feelings for Ridge to see if they're real, Bridget refuses and reminds him that Ridge felt nothing after their kiss earlier. Asked for his advice, C.J. urges Amber to remember what they've had in the past and then kisses her. Rick and Amber escort April to the studio where Craig Kilborn's show is taped. The producer is shocked to realize that April failed to bring any sheet music for the band but hurries her to makeup anyway. In the audience, Amber worries to Rick about her sister embarrassing herself tonight with her singing. April finally emerges from backstage and waits nervously for the cue to start singing. After Craig has fun introducing her, April sings a smokey version of the classic "Fever" and wows the crowd.
Unable to make love to him last night, Bridget apologizes to C.J. in the morning. Stopping her, C.J. admits that last night showed him that her heart is definitely with Ridge. Bridget announces her intention of concentrating on her medical studies in order to put Ridge behind her. Meanwhile, Brooke and Ridge are all smiles after making love. She hints that she'd like to spend the rest of the day in bed with him and explains why she changed her mind about postponing their lovemaking until they were married. Ridge asks Brooke if she thinks they'll ever be able to get back to "that special place" where it was just the two of them. Massimo has no time for Deacon who saunters into his office and claims that he wants Massimo to teach him how to become respectable. When Massimo refuses, Deacon suggests that if he became respectable, he might become more attractive to Brooke. A call from his associate Rodriguez sends shudders through Massimo as he learns that one of his tankers has hit a reef and is spilling oil into the Sea of Cortez. Massimo angrily orders his man to reach Captain Dominick Payne who is busy trying to save his crew and his ship during a violent storm. When he reaches Payne, Massimo blasts him for ruining his ship. As they argue, another huge wave and then a flash of light sends the ceiling down on the captain, knocking him out. At the hospital Bridget decides to call her mother but is upset when Ridge answers her mother's cell phone. When he admits that Brooke and Hope spent the night, Bridget is hurt but doesn't let on as she hangs up.
