Due to the departure of one of our recappers, Monday through Wednesday's recaps are unavailable. If you are interested in joining B&B Online and helping us supply recaps for these three days each week, please drop a line and let us know
RIDGE'S HIDEOUT:
Ridge and Felicia are rehashing the case against Ridge. Ridge is worried
because they found gunshot residue on his hands. Felicia thinks it has to
be Grant setting Ridge up. She wants to go to friends on the LAPD and nose
around a little, but Ridge says no, leave it to the pros. He hopes that
Hunter Jones, who has a new lead, will find something soon.
SPECTRA:
Jones is in Sally's office. Clarke listens outside the door. Jones wants
to question Clarke about the shooting. Sally hopes Jones will be
successful in finding whomever shot Grant. Jones doesnot believe her, but
she assures him that she is sincere. She also admits that she cannot
picture Ridge shooting anyone. Grant enters the room--ah, there you are,
Sally says.
FORRESTER SWIMMING POOL:
Taylor approaches Thorne who is sunning himself by the pool. Taylor
apologizes for talking to Ridge without saying anything to Thorne. Thorne
says that an apology isn't enough. Taylor says she will make it up to
him; she will do anything. Thorne sits up and, with a playful grin, asks,
anything?
FORRESTER HOME:
Eric and Stephanie are talking. Eric complains that everyone at the office
is "scurrying around, following Grant's orders preparing for this costume
ball." He couldn't take it so he left. Stephanie doesn't think she is up
to going to the custume ball, but Eric was hoping that she would be his
date for the ball.
Stephanie is surprised that Eric wants to go to the ball. But he admits that, as much as he hates to admit it, Grant is right about them presenting a united front to the public. He also thinks this will help put Ridge and his situation "on the back burner." He doesn't relish the thought of talking business and small talk with people all night, either, but he can stand it if Stephanie is by his side. Naturally, Stephanie agrees to go with him.
In the meantime, Stephanie wants to know what they are going to do about the relationship between Thorne, Taylor and Ridge. She wants Eric to talk with Thorne; Thorne will listen to his father. Eric walks to the edge of the terrace and looks down; that is when he sees Taylor and Thorne below.
POOLSIDE:
Thorne has Taylor playing "slave girl" as a way of making up for talking to
Ridge up at the cabin. She must serve him lemonade, she can't put on her
"cover up" when she is chilly, and he is warm so she must spritze him down.
It is all innocent fun, however, Thorne does get spritze to his face for
a playful remark.
SPECTRA:
Sally tells Clarke that Mr. Jones is looking for him. Mr. Jones is looking
at everyone in the building at the time of the shooting. Clarke doesn't
want to answer any question but he eventually reluctantly agrees. He
signed into the building 2 hours before the shooting; Clarke relates that
he visited his friend because he was scared to death that something was
going to happen. Jones remarks that Clarke did not sign out of the
building and wonders why.
THE HOTEL:
Felicia doesn't want Ridge to give up. But he grabs the paper and says it
is hard to stay calm when he sees things in the paper against him. He then
shows her a picture of the "happy couple"--Grant and Brooke.
Ridge reads the article aloud. All eyes will be on Grant Chambers, he reads, alledgely gunned down by his fellow designer, Ridge Forrester. Ridge is angry. Grant doesn't want to waste any more time on this while he, Ridge, is losing his life---everything is gone. Worse of all, he is losing Taylor because he can't see her. Thorne will just walk away with her.
SPECTRA:
Clarke explains that he didn't go out through security; he left by a side
exit. Jones wants to know why. Clarke says it was closer to his car.
Sally reminds Jones that at one time Clarke worked at Forrester and he
knows all the exits. This interests Jones but Clarke tells Sally not to
tell him anymore; all Jones is trying to do is pin the shooting on him.
Sally can't believe that. She tells Jones that everyone at Spectra, Clark
especially, was devistated when they heard that Grant had been shot. It
was especially sad because of what he had already been through. What had
he been through, Jones wonders. He had a new wife and family and he was
head of the company. Sally informs Jones that FC was in chaos and Grant
had to take it over. Also, against Clarkes wishes, Sally tells Jones about
Grant and Brookes marital problems. Clarke asks Jones to leave. Outside
the office, Jones has a thoughtful look on his face.
POOLSIDE:
Thorne has Taylor apply sunscreen to his back. Taylor is about fed up with
the "game" and pours half a bottle on his back. From above, Eric and
Stephanie disagree about the "correctness" of the two below. Below, Taylor
says that having her hands on his body is getting to be too much of a
habit. As Taylor is leaving, Thorne asks Taylor to be his date at the
custume ball. Taylor hesitates; it is bad timing. The reporters will get
the wrong idea; they might think that she dropped Ridge because of his
problems. Thorne, however, talks her into going with him. What will they
wear? Knowing you, Taylor says, you'll want to go as master and servant,
but Thorne thinks that they should go in costume. Taylor wants to push him
into the pool for that comment but they end up on the lounge in each
other's arms. As they kiss, Eric and Stephanie are watching. Eric thinks
they should stop watching. Stephanie says that Ridge has to do
something--he just has to.
THE HIDE-AWAY HOTEL:
Ridge is really feeling sorry for himself; he says he is really going down
for this one. Felicia is trying to cheer him up. She feels he needs to
get out of this dreary hotel room. No, he says, what he needs is Taylor.
But he cannot see her because she is surrounded by reporters. If they see
him, they will just make her life a living hell; he cannot do that to
Taylor. Felicia has an idea; what if the reporters don't recognize him?
Perfect, Ridge agrees.
THE CHAMBER'S HOME:
Decorations and other preparation for the ball are underway. A very
excited Grant wonders if Rick is ready for the party in his tye-dye shirt.
He sends him up to get ready. He then asks Brooke where he should give his
speech and she suggests the stairway surrounded by models. Brooke then
wonders if they really need all the security guards she sees milling
around. Grant hopes it won't be necessary; but you can never tell about
Ridge. He just might violate his restraining order and attend the party.
They go upstairs to get dressed for the party.
FORRESTER CREATIONS:
Claudia says she is going to the party with Enrique; she thinks Enrique
shot Grant and this is how she is going to prove it. Enrique arrives and
Claudia plays "nice" with him. He wonders why she changed her mind about
him. She tells him that she is just seeing him different. She tells him
to change in her office and she will meet him downstairs. But Enrique has
a better idea; why don't they both change up here. Claudia says no; they
kiss. Outside the door, Claudia wipes the kiss from her face.
SPECTRA:
Lorenzo is going through the racks looking at the gowns. Sally enters and
asks if she has found anything to wear tonight. She says she hesitates to
go; Eric will be there with Stephanie. Sally tells Lorenzo that it will be
a good time for Eric's friends to rally around; a perfect time for you, she
reminds her.
THE HOTEL HIDEAWAY:
As Ridge paces, Jones feels that he has made some progress. But first,
Ridge has to slow down--he needs to be calmer. Then Jones wants to know
more about the relationship between Grant and Brooke. Ridge tells him that
the two of them started out as just friends; then when Ridge left town,
Grant moved in on her. They were miserable together after their marriage,
at first, but now they are intimately close. But only since the shooting.
Ridge explains that the two had not had sex until after Chambers ws shot.
Interesting, Jones says. Since all the suspects will be together at the
party, Jones has invited himself to the party. He leaves.
THE CHAMBER'S HOME:
The party is beginning. Costumed waiters are circulating drinks. Taylor
and Thorne arrive as Cleopatria and Marc Anthony. They are greeted by
Napoleon Bonaparte (Grant) who is amused by Thornes choice of a costume.
While the reporters take pictures of Napoleon and Cleo, Grant instructs
Marc to go fetch his "goddess" some champagnee. Next Michael. Clarke
greets her in a friendly manner. With his arm around her shoulder, he
introduces her as "just a little office worker" at Forrester; Michael
seethes. Lady Marian arrives next. The queen of the sewing room, Clark
says. When she introduces Enrique as Robin Hood, Clark jokes that he is
the thief of Sherwood Forrester---did I invite you? I don't think so.
Everyone watch you purses and wallets, laughs Grant. Everyone thinks this
is so funny. Then the "old guard" arives--Eric as King Henry the Eighth of
Forrester and Stephanie as one of his six wives. Eric doesn't know how
much of this he can take. Brook greets Sally, Lorenzo and Clarke. A
security guard tells Grant that things are calm. Grant reminds him that if
he spots Ridge, he is to call the cops.
THE HIDEAWAY:
Ridge is remembering placing the engagement ring upon Taylors finger and
Taylor answering yes to his proposal. Now she is with Thorne, he mumbles,
together at the party.
THE BALL:
Grant greets the models on the stairs and issues a greeting of welcome to
all the guests. He thinks they will be happy with the new and exciting
line that "his" company will showcase. For now, he hopes they will all
have a wonderful time, complements of Grant, "Napoleon," Chambers. He is
loudly applauded.
Everyone is enjoying themselves. A man wearing a long beard approaches. He watches as everyone is having a good time. Meanwhile, Enrique watches Grant and seethes. Taylor tells Thorne to stop staring at Grant. He is angry; Grant is trying to push his father out of Forrester. From the garden, Ridge as Zorro approaches the French doors. He stands in the doorway and observes the people. Lorenzo chastises Clarke for grandstanding for Eric; he laughs and tells her to go get Eric. Sally tells her to stop obsessing about Eric and Stephanie and go after the man she loves. After all, Stephanie has had plenty of time to make her move on Eric. Lorenzo agrees and says that Eric does need her. She looks around for him. Eric and Stephanie are just walking out. I'll wait until he comes back in, she mumbles. Sorry Stephanie, but you have had your chance.
Out on the terrace, Eric tells Stephanie that this is much better. They laugh and talk together. Eric is worried about Rick. He is having a difficult time, Stephanie says. Eric is amazed that she is so fond of the children he had with Brooke. Stephanie says she couldn't possible hold their birth against them. They are a part of you, she tells him. Eric is grateful that Stephanie is a big part of his life. Stephanie is able to lift Eric's spirits. She tells him that the entire industry knows he, Eric, is the head of Forrester, no matter who is running it at this time.
Eric is not ready to go back inside. He wants to ask Stephanie something. There is no more appropriate time and place for what he is about to ask. It is coming from his heart. He wants Stephanie to marry him again; he wants her to be his wife.
