Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful haven't known what to make of Linsey Godfrey's status with the CBS soap since she last aired as Caroline Spencer in October 2016. Rumor had it the cancer survivor was perhaps experiencing a health scare that kept her off screen, but she took to social media in January with a post celebrating that she had officially made it to ten years being cancer free. Other rumors swirled that she had been dropped to recurring status with the show, which seemed to be confirmed when executive producer Bradley Bell teased in March that fans hadn't seen the last of Caroline.
Alas, it doesn't look like Godfrey will be back, after all. The actress spoke with Soap Opera Digest and revealed that her time with the CBS soap is over.
“It is with a heavy heart that I say Caroline isn't coming back in the near future,” she says. “I really enjoyed my time over at Bold, and I'm so grateful for the time that I got to play Caroline.”
She goes on to thank her fans and says that she has appreciated everybody's patience in waiting to find out about her status with the show that gave her “a lot of love and a lot of happiness.”
“[Being on B&B was] a beautiful time for me,” she says of her four-year run. “I got to work with people who I really, really loved and who I really, really admired and got to do what I love to do. I was proud of the work we did, and I was really proud of the stories we told.”
