The Bold and the Beautiful is adding another Forrester to its ranks. The world's most-watched daytime drama has cast Australian actress Ashleigh Brewer in the newly created role of Ivy Forrester.
Ivy, according to a show spokesperson, is Eric Forrester's niece -- which would, in theory, make her the daughter of Eric's brother, John. Of course, as soaps go, there may be some other branches on the Forrester family tree that viewers haven't been privy to.
For the past five years, Brewer has starred as Kate Ramsay on the Australian soap Neighbours. Prior to joining Neighbours, Brewer appeared on another Aussie program, H2O: Just Add Water. The B&B role will be the actress' first contract role on a US series.
Brewer will have her official B&B coming-out alongside fellow cast members Darin Brooks (Wyatt Spencer), Kim Matula (Hope Logan), Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer), Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester), and Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan) at the Monte Carlo Television Festival's International TV Audience Awards next month. The Bold and the Beautiful has been nominated in the "Telenovela/Soap Opera" category for the ninth consecutive year.
The trip to the principality won't be all fun and games -- The Bold and the Beautiful will also be hard at work on a special location shoot.
"This year's festival is packed with excitement. At the press conference on Sunday, June 8th, we will make a surprise announcement," B&B head writer and executive producer Bradley Bell said in a statement. "We will film a spectacular wedding at the most romantic spot in Monaco."
