"Goodbye Los Angeles! I'll miss your warm summer days in the Winter and your beautiful city lights," Lloyd shared on Twitter. "Let's not be strangers."
Beginning in February, Lloyd will be starring in the America Repertory Theater's production of the musical Witness Uganda, a story about a recent college grad who travels to Africa to do volunteer work and discovers the organization he's working with is corrupt. Lloyd is currently rehearsing in New York City, but the show will open in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
A spokesperson for B&B confirms that Lloyd will not be a part of the show for a while, but the actress hints that she could return at a later date.
"Brad [Bell, B&B's head writer and executive producer] has been great," Lloyd told Soap Opera Digest. "When we talked about whether or not I'd be continuing with the show, it was very much this idea of, 'It's not over. I want you to be around. I want to work more with the character.'"
Bell had reached out to Lloyd about taping a few scenes this month, but her schedule would not allow it.
Earlier this month, Lloyd was honored with an NAACP Image Award nomination in the Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series category. It is the actress' first nomination for her work on B&B.
