Emmy winner Jacob Young will return to The Bold and the Beautiful after he wraps his run on ABC's All My Children. Young has opted not to continue with AMC for its move to the Internet. Young appeared previously on B&B from 1997 through 1999.

Despite the show being licensed for production on the Internet and possibly cable, another All My Children star has announced that they're headed to another daytime drama series. Jacob Young will rejoin the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful in the role of Rick Forrester. Young started his daytime career on B&B in 1997.

In an interview with TVGuide, Young admitted that the deal to have him return to The Bold and the Beautiful happened much faster than he'd anticipated.

"When I started talking to B&B I didn't think it would happen so fast. But I guess it's good that way," Young explained. "I was looking forward to wrapping up AMC and having a bit of a hiatus, maybe a month or two to travel with my family. As it turns out, I'll probably have my AMC and B&B schedules overlapping and be shooting both shows at the same time."

Asked why he jumped ship before AMC's yet-to-be-determined first broadcast under its licensing agreement with Prospect Park, Young explained that there was a little too much uncertainty with the deal -- and he wanted to sign on to a sure thing.

"I sat in on the meeting with Prospect Park and was listening, that's for sure. I applaud their ambition. I think [the move to the internet] has a chance but my biggest fear is all that time in between," Young stated.

Though Prospect Park had wanted to air its first All My Children episode in September, that date has since been pushed back until sometime in January 2012.

In addition to his work on The Bold and the Beautiful, Young also appeared on General Hospital from 2000 to 2003. In 2002, Young earned a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Younger Actor category. Young has appeared as All My Children's JR Chandler since 2003, picking up two Supporting Actor Emmy nods.

The Bold and the Beautiful has recast the role of Rick Forrester twice since Young left the show. Justin Torkildsen played the role from October 1999 through 2006. The role was aged slightly in 2007 when B&B hired former Days of our Lives star Kyle Lowder to tackle the part. Lowder was dropped to recurring status earlier this year as the character's storyline dried up. He last aired in April.

"[B&B executive producer and head writer Brad Bell] felt it was in everybody's best interest that we go in different directions," Lowder said at the time. "I had a great four years there and I thank him for the opportunity. And now, onto the next thing."

Young makes his first B&B appearance on September 26, the Monday following All My Children's last ABC broadcast.
