The new year has gotten off to a tragic start for The Bold and the Beautiful's Daniel McVicar. The actor's 22-year-old son, Hank, was killed in an automobile accident on January 3.

Clarke Garrison), was killed in a single-car accident on January 3.
"He was alone in the vehicle, lost control in the rain, and struck a pole and a tree, and was pronounced dead on the scene," McVicar said in a statement.
McVicar is currently out of the country, working on a project in Italy. The actor will return home to be with his family.
"The McVicar family is deeply touched by the sympathies received," McVicar added. "I was blessed to have such a wonderful son. He grew up to be a terrific young man, and our hearts grieve."
